Timbren SES on Amazon: amzn.to/2ofjh6S
3 ton floor jack: amzn.to/32FrjVD
9" Flat Head Screw Driver: amzn.to/31E0rDW
In this video I install the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System (SES) on my 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the 6.0L V8 Gas Engine. This install was a rear suspension upgrade replacing the old bump stops. This was an extremely easy install and only took 10-15minutes while filming. Without filming, I could have easily gotten this done in 5-10 minutes! Immediately after the install, I went on an Elk hunting trip while towing a trailer and having approximately 1000lbs of gear in the bed of my truck. The Timbrens helped out tremendously and gave the truck a much better ride. Let me know if you have any questions about the Timbrens or the install. Thanks for watching!

I just ditched my bags, $450 mistake. I hated the bags. Always adjusting the pressure, and forgetting to lower the pressure to drive unloaded, and jarring my teeth out. Timbren is the best option.

I have these SES on my Toyota Tacoma 98, my Tacoma DOESN'T lean at all, it also doesn't squat ether, the ride is a little harsher when it's empty, but over all it is definitely worth the install !!

Huh, pretty clever. Nice alternative to bags. I'm constantly checking air pressure. ✌

Yeah, I had looked at air bags too. Did you install your bags yourself or did you have someone do them? One of my subscribers strongly recommended these and everyone that has them seems to really like them. It's nice because when you don't have a load they are not "engaged". But after I load my ATV which is around 500lbs, they are engaged and you can tell an immediate difference. I really like them so far!
@jayo7799

@@ColoradoCamperman I had them installed, it's pretty involved actually drilling through frame avoiding fuel lines, wires, etc wasn't cheap either. Didn't even know these existed or I would have looked into them closer. My shocks go bad in no time too and gets really bouncy with no load. Keep us posted on how they work out please. ✌
@ColoradoCamperman
@ColoradoCamperman 4 года назад
@@jayo7799 Yeah, that makes total sense as to why you had someone do the install. I had looked at a DIY install with air bags and it looked like a huge pain in the butt. These seemed like a great alternative and I really like them so far! I'll definitely be doing a follow-up video on them to share my experience after the install.

Thank you for such a good video on installing these. I'm getting ready to order a pair for my Ram 1500 since we haul a travel trailer around on occasion. I wasn't sure what or where it needed to be jacked up from and now, I see. Can't wait to get them. I know when connect our travel trailer, the back does sag a lot. These definitely will help. I thought about installing bigger springs, but this is a lot easier, and they are about the same price. Thanks for posting such a good video.

@@ColoradoCamperman I do have one question if you don't mind taking a minute to answer? I noticed when you dropped the jack, the Timbren's appeared to be sitting right on the axle. Did you already have a load in the bed? I was under the impression they should sit an inch or two off the axle under no load. Or does it matter? Thank you! Gary
@ColoradoCamperman
@ColoradoCamperman 2 года назад
@@garyp9906 When I do not have a load in the bed of the truck, there is probably a one inch gap between the Timbren and the axle. If I load my ATV, which is about 600 lb, usually the Timbren would just barely be touching the axle. That's on a 3/4ton truck.

How about air bags ? I have been running those for over 10 years and they work great for me and my heavy slide in camper as well as dragging the 30' arctic fox around ..... ok thanks for the vid and ttyl .....
@ColoradoCamperman
@ColoradoCamperman 4 года назад
I had definitely considered air bags. What brand of air bags do you have? Did you DIY install or have someone do the install? I decided to go with these instead of air bags because 1) They were cheaper and since this truck was already an unplanned expense, I honestly couldn't afford to spend more $ then the Timbrens cost 2) They were an easy DIY install 3) They got such great reviews (some guys say they're just as good as air bags) 4) You don't have to worry about airing up/down. I've heard amazing things about air bags and I probably would have bought them. Another factor in my decision was one of my subscribers who owns Chevy's swore by these and he was kind of the tipping point to go with the TImbrens vs Air bags.

@@ColoradoCamperman I have the fire stone brand air bags ..... I installed myself . But yeah if the rubber bumper kit you installed works then thats great and cost effective ....I might get a pair of those too and run them with my air bags as well . its always good to get feed back from other truck owners on what works or dosent before you purchase any thing for sure .....well let us know how they work out for ya .....ok have a great weekend its almost here ....sb.

@@ColoradoCamperman did you have to get new plates because you still have the old truck?
@ColoradoCamperman
@ColoradoCamperman 4 года назад
@@huckleberrychris No, I was able to use the old truck's plates. The old truck has a "Non Operational" status similar to a project car since it cannot be driven on the road. If I get it road worthy before I sell it, I will register it again. But more then likely I will be selling it "as is". We'll see, it's a total pain in my butt. I wish all this old truck non-sense was over with, but it looks like it is going to carry-on for another 2-3 months.

Just watched and liked your video. I have the same truck and am considering ordering these for my truck. I tow a 10K toy hauler travel trailer. They are tongue heavy by design so when you have a golf cart or ATV loaded in the the added weigh to the rear balances it out. I also have a Hensley hitch to help eliminate sway but that hitch puts the trailer coupler attachment point about a foot behind the normal hitch ball location thus making the bouncing even worse. I'm hoping these will help eliminate or at least reduce the bouncing. One thing I noticed in your video once the installation was complete and you lowered the truck down it looked like the Timbren actually rested on the axle pad. They are advertised as not affecting unloaded ride quality. Not sure how that can be if they are resting on the axle pad when unloaded. How did it ride?
@ColoradoCamperman
@ColoradoCamperman 3 года назад
Hey, thanks for watching my videos! We're actually considering towing a toy hauler that size, how does the truck do towing it? The Timbrens have helped out big time! From the video it looks like they are engaged with no load but they are not. When I load my ATV in the bed of the truck they are engaged. It does not affect the ride quality at all and is still very good. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

@@ColoradoCamperman my truck has the duramax, not sure if yours does or not but it tows with ease. My truck is also tuned with emissions compliant tuning from calibrated power. I love the truck. I have a 4 door Oreion reeper that I carry in the back of the trailer. The trailer is a Stryker 3212. The Reeper adds another 2k lbs to the rear reducing the tongue weight considerably. On a breezy day I do get a little bit of sway but nothing unmanageable. The sway is almost completely eliminated if I back the reeper into the trailer placing the weight of the engine farther forward. I have a 7 hour trip to Myrtle Beach planned and didnt want to find out the sway is worse on the interstate being passed by big rigs, that's why I bought the Hensley hitch. I installed it last weekend and took the trailer for a test drive to see how it towed. Other than the exaggerated bouncing due to the trailer coupler connection being extended another foot it towed great. Hopefully the timbrens will help with the bouncing.
@ColoradoCamperman
@ColoradoCamperman 3 года назад
@@maxum3300 That's sweet that you have the Duramax. I have the 6.0L gas. It does good for the size of our camper. When we're fully loaded up with the ATV in the back, were probably 8,500-9,000lbs. The campers we're considering have a GVWR of 9,995, so I don't think it would be a massive difference. Great to know about the Hensley hitch, that thing looks like a beast! I could see how that would be very helpful. Between that and the Timbrens, I bet you'd be set. Thanks for the info and watching!
