Time for a BREAK (in Nazare, Portugal) 

I enjoyed your time off. Do take us to places most of us will never see in person. Watching your video are so much more enjoyable than any fiction story acted out by narcissists needing attention, you are real entertainment.

Nazaré was a fishing village and a vacation place during summer. Everything was around fishing and entire families were dedicated to it. The man went to sea in small boats and the wife's took care of the children's, selling fish in the market and reparing the fishing nets. The thick shirts in squares of the men and the 7 skirts of the women were typical. When a fisherman died, his wife continued to dress the same skirts but all black for the rest of her life. Before surf discovered Nazaré, it was somehow a sad village for me, as there were many women in black. Nazaré was also known for a Portuguese fish dish named Caldeirada. The best Caldeirada I ever eated in Portugal was in that village made by a fisherman. I'm Portuguese and always lived in Lisbon by the way.

Was recently in Nazaré but just for a day trip. One of my bigger regrets about our Portugal trip was not spending more time there. And for someone who doesn’t make travel videos, I’d say you rocked it!

Enjoy Nazaré! I was born in Lisbon and immigrated with my parents to Canada when I was 1 year old. Discovering Portugal in my 20’s was such a pleasure. Beautiful locations to explore, including Nazaré, delicious food and wine, lovely beaches and weather. Your video is making me want to visit again. I am currently living in the Netherlands for work and travelling within Europe is easy.

I has born in Lisbon, but live in Canada. I hope this year I can return to My Suuny Portugal with my husband, my last trip was cancelled due to the Pandemic. There are so many places on my list , and Nazare is one of them. I sure miss that beautiful ,bright Portuguese sunshine, that I once took for granted. Enjoy that little Country I miss so much as I get older, Saudades !!!!!!!

Glad you guys had a good break i miss Nazaré and that part of the world. I'm from a beautiful village not far from Nazaré called S. Martinho do Porto with an amazing bay a 15min dive from Nazaré you should visit one day also not far about a 15min drive is Alcobaca a with beautiful medieval monastery or if you are willing to drive a bit about 40 min there is an amazing medieval town called Obidos with a beautiful beach near by called Foz do Arelho. best wishes from the uk lol.

I love that you guys did this for yourselves! Thanks for sharing it with us. I totally get what you're saying about the safety precautions in many countries these days. Canada is kind of excessively safe now to the point where many amazing hikes and views are sort of undermined with excessive fencing and things like that. One of the things I found kind of fun/scary when I traveled in both Cuba and Mexico was their rather relaxed approach to safety. Whether it was careening up the side of a mountain, through a smoldering forest fire, in the back of a former Russian army truck, on bolted down bus seats with rope "seat belts", or caving in caves that had no safety precautions whatsoever and ladders literally made of branches lashed together... unusual adventure was everywhere. You had to have your wits about you, though. I like that sort of thing, having grown up on a farm where we were often left to our own devices while the adults got on with fixing tractors and moving irrigation... We got into loads of trouble and sketchy situations that the adults never even heard about, but in so doing, we learned our limitations and abilities better than a lot of people raised more carefully.

So pleased you had a great break! It looked fab!! Really enjoyed joining you this morning whilst sitting in Axminster, Devon which is home to me, as I do every Saturday morning! 🥰👍

I'm not much into people's holiday movies and when I saw the title of this video, I said to my wife "Let's skip this one and watch one of the other channels we are subscribed to". My wife convinced me to watch this one and I'm so glad I listened to her. Firstly; Wow!, what a beautiful place....and your sense of humour really made this video very enjoyable. Now I find myself looking forward to the next one.

welcome to wonderful Nazare... purely by chance I settled here in Nazare.. every day I feel fortunate to wake and look at the ocean.. listen to the waves as I fall asleep

Thanks you for sharing these lovely scenes. I had a condo in Sitio on the cliff overlooking Nazare for 10 years and miss it so (I live in the US). I get my fix by following many Brit vloggers homesteading in Portugal, mostly near Castelo Branco, so it was fun to see scenes of Nazare again. Good for you visiting off season so you could enjoy its beauty without the crowds.

Vigno Verde is my favourite summer wine! So fresh, tasty. Unfortunatly here, in Romania I can find it very rarely... Envy you, but it was a very well deserved mini-holiday. ❤

Maybe I should try going on a break like this, 25 years without a holiday definitely needs a change. Yep, that long without any breaks. Portugal has so much excellent wine, food. I would likely head to Wales or Scotland.

We stayed four weeks in plaia de Mira last may and cause it`s so central we enjoyed a lot of short trips like Obidos, Braga , Porto, Aveiro, Montemor o Velho, Coimbra, Luso and some more. We drove 2500 km in Portugal and every place was more than worth it and the food was fantastic. Greetings from Hamburg, have fun

What a beautiful and clean city. Interesting to see all your exotic seafood choices as I am pretty much a fish and chips type of person. But in the non seafood arena, you can keep your goat balls but the pork belly bao looked good!😊You chose a beautiful place to enjoy yourselves and relax.

What a great, well-deserved holiday you both work so hard. Always drink lots of water with adult beverages or day after can be painful. So you may have saved yourself a huge headache. Enjoy !!!!

That was a very nicely done video. The food looks amazing and the blue sky... I think the waves get big at certain times of the year.

As you know, we have hundreds of kms of ocean beaches you must explore. The next time, I will sugest you to try the tradicional portuguese ocean meals, like a sapateira and all kinds of sea shelves. For the bigests internacional surfing waves you must go to the litle town of Ericeira not far from Lisbon. The litle vacations are always the best ones.

I watch quite a lot of reno videos in various parts of Portugal on RU-vid. Mixed bag really. I can't think of any couple who work as hard (really hard) as you two do which is why I found your video really enjoyable as I couldn't imagine anyone more deserving of a good time. I was in Nazaré a couple of years ago. After your video I might go again.

Think you just got free Sushi for life with that advertising. Nazare is my favourite spot along with Peniche and Figuera when ever I sale past. Yes I have had to enter that port with 20-30 footers breaking next to the break wall, pretty scary when you arrive and see it. Nightlife there is great.
