I had the TFS top end kit on my old 89 convertible...... Makes a huge difference!

Yes and Yes... Is your 88 mass air? If not,you may want to do that upgrade. The speed density system may not like the Trick Flow cam

@@fu1543 My old 89 convertible ran 12.80s. I did have 3.73 gears,built AOD automatic,& TCI torque converter.

@@kellyriffle4750 mine is an auto also. Just put 373's in an a lentech terminator valve body on n its fun. The valve body have a od lock out which is great. Looking to do torque converter to. 👍

Nice vid dude! Classic pushrod budget build! Reminds me of my adolescence when I was working on my 88 gt in my parents garage. Which I just pulled out after 16 years! Finally have the means to finish her. She a beast. Can't stop thinking about it or watching your vids. Fox fever bro! Keep up the epic work!!

Exact same kit i got, i already have the 24lb injectors but im curious about the stock distributor gear ⚙ working with the tfs stage 1 cam? And will i need to change the fuel pump?

What ventline do you leave open when deleting smog? And what will happen on the highway? I just changed to a smaller belt and stopped turning the pump but I want to know more bro.

Need some help! Wanting to order the TrickFlow Twisted Wedge 11R top end kit(TFS-K525-432-370) from summit for my 88 HO engine. Summit has said it will, then it won’t work with stock pistons(eyebrows), then said “you may need to modify pistons for valve clearance” 🙄. Does the kit work with the stock pistons?? Thank you!!!

So Trick Flow offers 3 different intakes. The Street Heat, Track Heat and Box R Series. I have a set of older set of Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, a new Trick Flow Stage 2 Cam with Hydraulic Lifters, and I am wondering which intake would go best with this setup? My car is an AOD so I am matching the stall converter to the cam, but should I do the same with the intake? The Box R is good from 3000 - 6000 rpm, and that comes close to matching my cam (2800) and the stall converter I will be getting. Any advice?

The R series intakes are better for higher rpm setups. The box R is a boost intake. Id go the Track Heat with a 75mm Tbody for your setup

Don’t you need an A9L ecm and mass air to change the injectors to 24lbs since that car is a speed density 88? 🤷‍♂️

My charcoal canister on my 91 lx was by passed and I was concerned for a while. I don't have emissions where I live in south texas, but my car has a gas smell when I get on the throttle heavy, is that normal?

You may smell a little as the vent tube comes off of the tank, but being under the hood, you hardly notice it

@@FoxcastMedia Who really wants to smell gasoline when it can be prevented, by just using the carbon canister. If you don't like the looks just tuck it under the fender.

@@FoxcastMedia No I meant when I push the car really hard it has a lot of gas smell from the exhaust. Even at idle sometimes, someone told me this was from having no charcoal canister?
