it is very nice and great explination in detail and speachless with u r tutorials and we need more more viedos frm u specially desining falt slab and prestressing for hope we will have them soon ..... wating for u r next viedos thanq.......
Great effort indeed. Sir, I have to say that your videos are even better than the videos made by the developers of ETABS (CSI). Very clearly and professionally explained considering the recommendations of ASCE 7-10 codes. If possible, please make videos on Pushover analysis and nonlinear Time History Analysis because both are highly demanded ...lots of respect and God bless....
Thank you for your nice and useful videos! If we have three different structures. the plan is one but the structure is different. 1) the structure is made of columns and beams. 2) the same add a few shear walls. 3) no columns and beams only shear walls. if possible to do dynamic analysis for all of them and compare the result. would be nice of you.
A very informative & helpful video. Would you please a make video about how to download time history function about a very specific earthquake (like Nepal earth quake -April 2015) from USGS website.
Your scaling has screwed up the input ground motion, especially in the y-direction! X-direction scaling is probably acceptable though. But, look at the end of scaled time-history of y-direction. The acceleration data just blew off to get better matching in the long-period of target spectrum, which just imposes such a large low-frequency input acceleration to your structure. It can have good and bad implications; one can argue it is not a good data to be used for design purposes or one can say those data are in the very low frequencies away from the period of structure despite the large magnitude and it wouldn't affect the response as much. I would probably cut-off that last part of the scaled time-history where there are large low-frequency accelerations. Your purpose is probably here to teach how time-history analysis is done, but I just wanted to note a detail that ETABs screws up and engineers need to be cautious.
Salam /Hi. Thanks for tutorial with explanation. Could you explain why time history acceleration unit g? select preference acceleration time history which is taken from PEER website and the PEER provided ground motion data as unit g. so, is that reason to considered time history acceleration unit g?
Hi there , want to ask why Etabs always get the same maximum story drift even if I changed the ground motion scale factor from 1 to 20 , or even i changed the other ground motion from PEER , is it I'm doing anything wrong or need to modified the stiffness , hope to get some guide from here.
sir I'm working on a project "tuned liquid damper" on etab in this basically a water tank is coupled at the top of the building to reduce the dynamic characteristics of the building by the sloshing motion of the water in the water tank. So my question is how I can give the sloshing effect to water in the water tank for earthquake analysis because sloshing motion is the basic idea behind controlling the earthquake effects on the structure. sir, please help me.
Salute sir. well done, where i would wish you to advise is on browsing x and y input data, me who using Eurocode 8, how can i generate that data. thanks. Well done once again
Sir will you please make an vedio for how to know our analysed and design building will be safe , stable and economic , on which output data we will decided the building is better for construction
thanks a lot sir. i want to ask you some questions if you don't mind. what is masonry load and why is it in the group of super dead? and if i separate the Time History in load cases, i divide it to "Time History X" with only U1, and "Time History Y" with only U2. is it okay? Also i really hope that you can upload time history analysis with nonlinear direct integration. thanks a lot
I have a questions if you please reply me... In your case, you have chosen 2 different types of ground motions for X any Y axis....Why not to chose the same type and apply it on X and Y axis separately? Thank you.
+Nasratullah Amarkhail that a good qs...u can ..in this tutorial I considered the actual scenario...u can consider the same time history along both qs..it's all up to the engineer

thank you sir your ETABS videos were very helpful for me and I was wondering about why you have adopted for total analysis time 12 seconds and for output time step 0.1 sec?
We have the option to download the scaled and as well as the un-scaled ground motion data PEER website. In case if we download the scaled data, do we still need to do the scaling or matching command in ETABS?
Hi there , i'm new here , current doing my final year project , want to ask is it possible to make a several earthquake in different time period as i'm doing repeated earthquake as consider effect of accumulate spread of damage , hope to get reply , thanks!
Thanks for reply! but what does the arrival time means in time history analysis , will it consider as a sequence of earthquake effect so the accumulate damage of earthquake can be obtain?
Sir your video's are so good but sir send the procedure from start to end i.e how we analyse and design a small and highrise structure in etab How we apply wind load earthquake load etc
Sir, In the ASCE 7-10, the maps to determine TL are for US states. How to determine TL for other countries? Do we just simply assume as TL = 8 for countries other than US?
He wrote it on the screen, just pay more attention....anyway its the result of moltiplication of the old factor with the one that came from the table...check the video and look on the screen he writes the calculation there
@@dion5924 hey asshole, try to be more polite when you talk to someone in your life The values he obtained by calculations were 1.54 and 1.48 which is what I said Then why did he put 1.89 and 1.82, for that I was confused If you are so smart then atleast show the timing in the video in your comments
