Excellent video. What type of powdered shock DID you use, Cal hypo or dichlor?? Also, did you use a polymer OR an alum-based FLOC?? Just curious, as I'd like to FLOC my pool before shutting it down for the season. Since I have a cartridge filter, I'll have to use a deck pump as I Don't think you're able to vacuum FLOC into a cartridge filter, BUT correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you. I was using Leslie's Super Floc and I used Leslie's Cal Hypo shock. As for vacuuming, if you have some way to vacuum to waste like through a deck pump, that would be best as the cartridges won't capture all of the fine material when vacuuming. But I guess it depends on what all your are vacuuming up after being pulled out of suspension.
Can you give some details on the waste vac you used. It looks like some kind of single cart is attached and is filtering the water. Something like this would help me out so much on turnarounds.
@@truelightpoolsllc4441 That would be awesome! I'd be more interested in how you put together your unit. I'd also most likely end up making my own setup.
What chemical did you use to make it clear? We bought a house that came with a pool (24'x54"), and we've taken it from swampy to beautiful blue (about how yours is at 1:25) but it's very cloudy! Several pool stores have told us to keep using shock and clarifier, but we're on week 3 and it's not clear yet! Thanks!
I used a flocculant (floccing agent) that will take the dead algae and stuff in suspension once it is all dead and make it fall to the bottom. If you have the option, vacuum the pool to waste instead of through the filter to remove the dirt and dead algae.
