The new battery-powered hydraulic crimping tool from Klauke can crimp any cable from 6 to 120mm sq. Using the proven indent crimping method eliminates the need to change crimping dies. The crimping force is precisely measured to give a reliable conductor crimping every time.

Have you guys considered looking at products and methods to achieve or maintain air tightness when fitting or changing domestic accessories? We have building regs requirements now and they can only become more stringent.

You mean not just putting loads of gaffer tape around the back box 😂 Its on our radar for next year as we build out our eco home in the studio. Stay tuned!

I do prefer a good die-based crimp - it looks much nicerer... :P

I agree! But I am an amateur buying random stuff on Amazon. And trying to figure out for sure what the right size die is can be annoying. I’m probably going to switch to this uglier style because it isn’t as likely to be the wrong size. And then I’ll add some heat shrink around it to hide it. :)

@@gf2e I agree too - but I work for an energy distribution and generation company that supplies all my tools, and a van, and wages...

The problem with Klauke for an Electrical Contractor is nobody generally stocks their lugs whereas Rexel (Newlec) stock Cembre lugs in all branches.

Brand isn't so much of an issue as quality and too many wholesalers offer lightweight junk, which are suitable for no crimper known to mankind.
@impactvision
@impactvision Год назад
@@tesla7899I have to disagree with you. Crimp tool and Cable lug should be of the same manufacturer. Klauke and Cembre are the main QUALITY tooling and connectors suppliers in the UK market.

@@impactvision I'm not disagreeing about how things should ideally be, and that works when you supply materials, but most cable jointing/termination is carried out using whatever materials are supplied on site. If I made a song and dance about particular brands on every occasion, then I'd find myself without any work. The only time I'll reject lugs will be on those rare occasions that cheap junk, of light section are supplied. I seldom see poor quality lugs for larger cables, but they're widely availabe from wholesalers in smaller sizes and I flatly refuse to use them.
