This is giving me flashbacks of my rotted floor replacement. I also have that bucket vac from HD on the boat.. use it to suck water out of bilge too. It’s the bomb but it’s so powerful it collapses the bucket when sucking lots of water..lol

A couple of things: I went through two of those Pyrex French press's before a broke down and purchased the stainless one. Well worth the money. Also, I have the bucket vacuum on my boat as well. It is soo awesome and easily stored. I traded out the full height 5 gallon bucket for a 2.5 gallon one. Works great and I use the bucket to do laundry! Great minds think alike! Thanks for the shout out! Your project looks like it is going to be way more challenging than mine was. You're right to keep that rotted piece together it is your template albeit a crappy one. LOL. The video you referred too is linked below. In that video, If you look in the background on the chair, you will see a box. That is the Humidor I am trying to finish ( the one I told you about on the phone). I will post a video on the project when it is done. If you come sailing in Michigan I will supply your cigars from this! Have a great day brother!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CVw21Kxh6-c.html

If you're going to use regular plywood Bryan, I would make sure that I soaked that wood with a epoxie, the backside. You say you're going to glass the front, but seal that whole Panelwith the with the epoxy

Hey, yes i was going to glass it but I decided to coat the entire thing in resin Even the screw holes will be coated I'll show how I did it next week

@@Sailing.Artemis You may already know this Brian, but if you heat a poxie. It soaks into the wood a lot better. It gets thinner you may already know that though. But you gotta work fast. Cause it's curing too.

I wish they would make the ladders removable like that on small cruisers with mid berths. Would make it much easier to get into bed. Lol

For my third comment - why not just refinish the fiberglass make it nice and clean looking and put the ladder right against that? No more wood rot. Is it strong enough to support ladder?

Could do that but the look would change

I’m up in Buffalo NY and I keep my boat in Lake Erie. (Fresh water) I’m curious how salt water reacts with fiberglass and equipment.
