You should do a video on speed matching your locomotives equipped with Loksound 5 decoders. I've tried without success and could use an expert tutorial.

So if we buy the decoder from Scaletrains will you guys program it so that all the ESU functions work? Like the tri colored ditch lights. And what tabs sit you turn to on? Wish you would have zoomed in on them. Thanks
We can indeed program the decoders to handle class lights and normal locomotive lighting. Sound decoders will be able to fire all 3 colors, Lokpilots will require mapping desired color to a specific function, as there is a software limitation. Specifics are listed with a close up photo in locomotive manuals. -Logan
It's very similar to installing sugar cube speakers in any ScaleTrains locomotive. There are many videos online that show you how to install sugar cube speakers in a ScaleTrains locomotive. You just have to follow those steps, and instead of using a sugar cube speaker like in those videos, just use a Scale Sound Systems speaker.
@@tyhik9338 The videos that I found are engines that are DCC ready. But, it doesn't really matter because you do the exact same steps for a DCC & sound engine as well. DCC ready engines don't come with a speaker, but with a plastic bracket to glue on future sugar cube speakers. DCC and sound engines will require detaching the wires from the existing stock sugar cube speakers. Either way, you will have to remove the stock speaker or bracket depending on the if it has DCC & sound or not, in order to install a Scale Sound Systems speaker. It's pretty straight forward.
@@tyhik9338 I don't have the exact video on hand, but if you search up on RU-vid, " ScaleTrains ESU decoder install," or "ScaleTrains DCC and sound install," you'll probably find videos that will help ya out!
That can be a feature for a future video, but the process on N scale is even simpler. Just remove the coupler boxes + shell, then the dummy plug from the locomotive motherboard. Click your decoder of choice into the socket and you're ready to roll. The process is the same for sound or normal decoders, excluding adding the sugar cube speaker into fuel tank cavity. -Logan
