As of this writing (1/17/22), it's been confirmed that Rio 3 is already in development with 20th Century Studios, but it's unclear if director Carlos Saldanha is onboard with the project.
Me too. And I hate when Jewel tells him that he should stop thinking only about himself and start thinking about her and his family. WTF I mean, Blu has literally sacrificed his own happiness for Jewel! You could say that during the entire trip to the Amazon, he never told her how he really felt about it, because he wanted HER to be happy. It's as if suddenly all that adventure they had in the first movie, everything Blu ever did to keep her safe, save her life, just didn't matter to her anymore. In the jungle he did everything he could to adapt and understand the customs of the tribe, but neither the tribe nor his own family tried to help him in any way....
I just recently rewatched Rio 2 after a long time and I enjoyed it all over again! I like how the story focuses on the wild Blue Macaw’s survival, how (mostly) Blu and his fledglings had to adjust to Jewel’s lifestyle in the wild, and yes, the family reunion was wonderful. The music in this film is just as entertaining and catchy as before in my opinion. Not sure if I can call the sequel better than the first, kinda neck and neck to me. Thanks so much for the reaction, Cody!
Rio 2: Meet the Parrots. 😏 If I recall, there's only a total of (as of this writing) 78 actual Spix's Macaws left in existence in several parts of the world, mainly in captivity.
It's so sad that the blue macaw has officially gone extinct. I look back at these movies and it breaks my heart to think that the beautiful species still disappeared
Though the general news and fates of the Spix Mawcaw have been grim for almost two decades by now, there's still good news to be found. Specifically, the blue macaws only went extinct in the _wild_, meaning that there are still several of them who just live in captivity in zoos, with researchers, and in wildlife foundations. As of a few weeks ago, there've been plans to begin releasing them back into the wild again. If that goes well- if it's monitored carefully enough, and if more laws and regulations can be instated to protect them- it's estimated that the species could repopulate and survive in the wild again.
We like to clown on it, but honestly Gabi was the best part of the entire movie. I love the combo of tropes; she's tiny compared to Nigel yet completely obsessed with him, she has a singing number which is actually just as good as it is funny, her character design is pleasing to look at as well as unique, (how many movies can you say you've seen a talking poison dart frog?) AND she's also INSANE. She is literally down for Murder if it means she'll win over Nigel. Honestly, I respect her.
I'd love to see you react to Luca! I have been in love with it, it's a beautiful coming of age story about learning to not be ashamed of who you are and embracing it instead. It's so touching and amazing!
It's really hard, as a researcher, to prove and pass a law that a place become a reserve. You might even be killed if you managed to cross paths with a big company that will do anything to get that piece of land
Don't know if someone already commented this but I'll comment anyways: The brazilian who directed both Rio movies also directed the first 3 Ice Age movies.
I love this movie, 18:43 especially the song "Você Chegou", in Brazilian Portuguese it brings a very good and uplifting vibe. big hug from Brazil, i love your videos.
@@robtalbott1676 yes I agree Big Boss should’ve had been the main antagonist instead of Nigel being the villain again. Big Boss has bigger plans than Nigel.
Movie suggestion! Wish Dragon! Some people who’ve seen the trailer call it an Aladdin clone, but it is it’s own unique thing and it is so amazing! The animation style is fun, the story is amazing, the characters are incredible, the message is beautiful, it’s thankfully NOT just another love story, the comedy is very nice, and the voice acting is INCREDIBLE! I mean, we got John Cho who was in the Star Trek reboots! This movie is a Netflix masterpiece!
There’s a deleted scene where it was revealed he used to be a pet and showed Blu some sort of collar thing on his leg, I think it didn’t make it in the movie because with Roberto obviously being born in the wild since he and jewel knew each other as kids and then Roberto somehow being back with the tribe it would be really hard to try and explain that
Rio 2 Is One Of My Favorite Animated Films Of 2014 Along With The LEGO Movie, Mr Peabody And Sherman, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Big Hero 6 And Penguins Of Madagascar👍😎😍
When you add music talents like Janelle Monet and Bruno Mars, this is a new and awesome mix that didn't happen in the original film. They are good friends in real-life after all.
The voice acting in this film was great. Kristin Chenoweth especially stood out as Gabi the frog, & it reminded me of her role as the Sugar Plum Fairy in Strange Magic lol.
As of writing this comment Rio 3 will be returning after 8 years. I’m pretty sure 20th century is doing it and most of the original cast and Director is onboard.
Sing 2 is awesome amazing great cool spectacular any type of good I'm not going to give you any spoilers but it's mostly my favorite movie I just watched it
Disappointing too. Carlos Saldanha once said that he was interested in a third film too had Blue Sky not shut down. As of this writing, it's been confirmed that Rio 3 is already in development with 20th Century Studios, but it's unclear if director Carlos Saldanha is onboard with the project.
Hey cody love your videos❤ and rio 2 is a great seqeul and a Amazing animated movie and cody have an Amazing day/weekend✌☀️😎🤙love from the netherlands❤🇳🇱❤
If there is one thing I can honestly say this film did better than the first one, it's the musical numbers. This one actually feels like a musical. All but two songs in the first one are either cut off or talked over, but these ones actually play out in their entirety.
Hi! I recently started binge watching your videos after realizing that you did a couple of collab’s with timotheereacts. I love your reaction videos so far and I have a recommendations: Open Season (2006) & Over The Hedge (2006). For a gal who was born in the early 2000’s, these were one of my favorite movies to watch growing up.😊

I used to have a crush on the frog when this movie first came out lol. Thankfully I've changed since then and now I like Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn who is basically just Gabi as a human!
35:10 jewel is right because saying to Blu don't before be selfish with your family. 1. Love Roberto how he tantrum and screaming fight vs loggers 2. Blu was is Jesse Eisenberg and Jewel was is Anne Hathaway
I think it was because everyone was trying to make Blu change everything about himself. (And there were too many plots going on that Blu and Jewel kinda seemed like side characters) +Jewels dad, (or pop pop lol) was hated a lot. (I personally think the movie is alright but not as good as the first one)
Eh, I feel like it's a very accurate depiction of marriage once the honeymoon is done. The Grand dad is manipulative, Jewel is pretty obviously implied to be unfaithful, the kids are so quick to discard their dad in favor of Mom's Boyfriend. Blu is honestly the only good guy in the main characters, which is sad considering he's a pathetic doormat.
