In this Episode of DW🌎, the temperature are on the rise and causing the Bermuda to grow like crazy. Dwayne throws down some much needed Plant growth regulator in addition to giving the lawn a nice punch of his favorite liquid apps. Will the PGR work? Only time will tell

Do you keep your California trimmer at full throttle when cutting?
@dwaynesworldlawn
@dwaynesworldlawn Год назад
Yes. You can back it down slightly if you choose too, but i generally run it at full throttle 👍🏻

Do you need to water-in these products within a specific time period?
@dwaynesworldlawn

No none of these have to be watered in. I generally will let them stay on the leaf for at least a day before running irrigation or expect rain

Great video Dwayne. I enjoy your approach and the information you provide. I too have some trouble spots, what are you planning or have in mind to help those areas?

First thing is to understand the problem. If it’s shade issues that it becomes a challenge to remove those things. A soil test is also important to see if your soil is missing anything. Bermuda is a very aggressive grass so as long as it has sun, water, and is mowed often it will spread and grow. The soil test will tell you what fertilizer is needed and if your PH is where it should be. If Ph is off any fertilizer will not perform at the level it should. I hope this helps 👍🏻

@@dwaynesworldlawn Thank you for the reply. I live in Eastern NC and my soil is sandy loam. I have had multiple soil tests and have amended the major nutrients in accordance with their recommended levels. I use a lot of liquid Biostimulants but I feel that my biggest problem comes from unable to apply the amount of water necessary for my lawn. The area of my renovation is 27,000 square feet. This season I have been top dressing my lawn with compost trying to apply more organic material in hope of being able to retain moisture. Zoysia is a slow spreading variety so any suggestions are welcome.

Yes zoysia is slow growing and not much you can do to speed it up. Sounds like you are doing a lot of things right and sounds like you are at the mercy of Mother Nature for irrigation. Generally you need about a inch of water a week. Zoysia is more shade tolerant then Bermuda but still needs a healthy dose of sun everyday. I appreciate the comment/question and the support. 👍🏻

@@dwaynesworldlawn Thanks. Actually my problem area is in an area that gets full sun all day, it is baking it. I am also wondering about grubs and or fungus but have made applications for both. I have had the extention agent out and he surmised it to be due to high sand content. So my quest continues and I am going to try to amend as often as I can with organic material and hopes it improves.

Hi Dwayne, after application how many hours do you wait before watering? Thanks
@dwaynesworldlawn
@dwaynesworldlawn Год назад
You could technically water after it dries which doesn’t take long in this heat. I normally just don’t water that day and wait till the following

@@dwaynesworldlawn no surfactant needed on the PGR?
@dwaynesworldlawn
@dwaynesworldlawn Год назад
No surfactant. Just pgr and mix iron or liquid fertilizer if you like. Just make sure not to over apply and follow the rates.
