Great shave! Gillette should have stopped at the Sensor Excel! It was a great blade for a cartridge! I still have several including my original ones from the nineties! I have the Sensor and Sensor Excel in original packaging never opened! You are correct, they are expensive on eBay!! My first was the Trac II and then the Atra! I still have both of them when I was in high school!! Nothing compares to these vintage razors!! Just an update, my Dollar Tree finally got in stock the Gillette 7 O'clock clone DE 3 piece razor!!! I shaved with it yesterday. 7 out 10 on aggression but it wasn't harsh like I thought it would be. Built sturdier than the TTO model for sure. I got a BBS shave from it!! I used a Dorco blade in it. Let me know if your stores have it yet! Thanks for these bargain and retro shaves!! They make great content!!!
That's amazing Jim you still own those razors. I enjoy all of them as well. I own some vintage Trac 2 and Atra razors, but the Sensor is ridiculously priced so I don't have one. I haven't seen the 7 O' clock yet in the stores I do own one though and for me it's on the medium aggressive side for sure. Thanks for your support!
Enjoyed the shave Rick. Also enjoyed the trip back in time. I’ve been using a Personna Double II razor from the 70’s. It’s a cart razor with a de style head.
Great topic and great idea. I wish I could remember what I used to shave my beard when I was in high school. Probably some disposable razors but it wasn't a good experience. After that, I avoided shaving for years and developed full beard. However, I went back to this two years ago. Oh, and I was born in '85 so I can still remember 90s Gillette commercials 🙂
Thank you Kamil, I only remember what I used because I had to shave a lot back then for ROTC. Plus the Gillette Sensor Excel was the first non disposable razor I owned. I remember those commercials too. I watch them here on RU-vid. Thanks for watching!
One other thing...Walmart has a new Nivea liquid shave cream!! 6.8 Oz for only $3.47. That's around 51 cents an ounce! It lathers with a brush beautifully and shaved me wonderfully!! They also have a 3 bladed disposable 4ct razor package from Harry's!! It shaved like a 3 bladed Bic or Gillette Sensor 3 disposable. Check them out if you wish!!
