The map shows the territory controlled by the ruler at the end of his term. Soundtrack is from the movie “The Patriot” : John Williams - Preparing for battle
4 very influential presidents are also in the frame. Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight D Eisenhower and John F Kennedy. It's amazing how they were all back to back and despite being different parties, Eisenhower got on pretty well with Truman, FDR and JFK.
0:29 fun fact : john Quincy Adams is the world's first president to be photographed on camera which was taken on March,1843 0:43 James Knox Polk was the first president to be photographed on camera while sitting in the office Edit:happy 4th july(2021)
Yes. John Quincy Adams was the first president to be photographed but he was former president that time. The first sitting president to be photographed was James K. Polk
The only blue you'll see in that regard is Donald Trump turning blue from holding his breath until the Greenlanders want to be Americans (which they don't).
Mike Kuznetsov Thomas Jefferson kinda smiles a little in his portrait but yea agree back then picture and portrait taking was serious business for people
It's because they had to paint them, which took hours to do. Nobody can hold a smile for that longm But now we have instant photography, which they can grin and smile, because they only have to hold it for a few seconds.
Zorro9129 did you not read the last comment on this? It’s because they had to paint them and nobody could hold a smile for several hours at a time. Now we have instant photography and they’re allowed to make whatever face they want.
@@rescue08jrgaming91 Perhaps, but I'd wager culture also plays into it. The presidency was not just about fulfilling the wishes of the people, it was about keeping a sacred oath.
Fun fact: The bulk of the French speaking community in Canada is descended from the French colonialists in North America prior to the defeat of the French by Britain. The bulk of the English speaking community in Canada is descended from those American loyalists who sided with the Brits and then fled when the rebels won their independence.
Aparta from the Sparta request (made me chuckle) a timeline from the first Tsar in the Rurik Dynasty through the Romanovs, then Prov Govt, Soviet Union and finally Russia again would be awesome
@Hornyshark In their mind yes, in their blood no. And also Guillaume le Conquérant before them, aka William the Conqueror, a half french half viking, duke of Normandie, king of France's vassal.
Great video, keep up the good work. Minor correction: you forgot to show Cuba as a part of the US. It was occupied 1898-1902 following be spanish american war
I've seen the other "leaders of x country throughout time" videos and was expecting either the "The Star Spangled Banner" or "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" for the music then I heard The Patriot and instantly said "this'll do" and could almost hear a eagle scream in the background, wonderful choice of music 'Merica.
Man they chose a great soundtrack to a lot of these videos. This one nails it spot on. What an amazing start to our Country: These guys knew what America was going to become, they had been dreaming it up for centuries.
In some history classes, they kinda gloss over or even outright skip a couple presidents to get to the most well-known ones or that the ones they gloss over usually don't have anything interesting to bring to the table. James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, John Tyler, James K. Polk, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, Chester A. Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, and Warren G. Harding. Every other president during World War 2 to throughout the Cold War is covered in college-level history classes.
also james monroe won the 1820 election unopposed, he was a friend of jefferson and madison and had some drama with hamilton after the revolutionary war grover cleveland's biggest thing is that he had two non-consecutive terms, the only president to do so jqa was basically the most qualified president ever, he did practically everything, he was also the son of john adams of course
No. We acknowledge you Real president Funny Valentine. They don’t want to acknowledge you because you could’ve made the nation into an undefeatable empire by your will. And the will of the people
