This campaign from COD 2 known as The Pipeline is based upon a real World War 2 battle, the Battle for Stalingrad Railway station due to its logistic importance both the USSR and Germans were aiming to take control of, the railway station no use after some battles but both sides kept launching counter-offensives to retake the station, this battle was so intense that just in few hours the station changed hands for about 14 times, and most of the divisions were nearly wiped out in that single battle.
Call of Duty 2 did an awesome job in showing the Eastern wish we had more games that respect history and recognize that event that led to the loss of hundreds and thousands of human lives and hold significant importance in history.

They based the battle of Stalingrad off of enemy at the gates which is very inaccurate. So I guess they didn’t care that much back then but maybe a little more than they do today.

Hey bud, you are right these early cod are not like 100% accurate but they do a good job in giving you a general idea of a battle or the whole war, I know games are not meant to be 100% historical accurate but they come way closer to historical accuracy than the latest ones.

Pavlov’s house in Cod 1 is also based on a real fight over one of the last buildings left standing after all the bombing.

damn bud didn't knew there is Pavlov's house campaign in COD 1, I actually played it when I was a kid but haven't tried it in recent years, I think I have one more video to make XD

The Eastern Front gets so little representation in video games... It makes me sad When I got Call of Duty WW2 AND when I got Battlefield V, I was expecting something with the Eastern Front, but was quickly disappointed

hey bud, well said the Eastern Front turned the tide of war and was main theatre. Game devs should never ignore the Eastern Front whenever they are making a game set in WW2.

Agreeing that the Eastern front should be more included in WW2 games, but tbf most people still know about is. Meanwhile the Asia - Pacific front is even more forgotten, most people only know about Pearl Harbor, Midway and 2 nukes and forget the rest (for example Chinese people had the same or even more death than the Russians during the war against Japan)

hey, bud, 100% agreed, the rape of Nanjing was one of the worse massacres carried out by the Japanese army in WW2, even google searching it will give you anxiety, I think the Japanese war in China is very overlooked, as I said even the eastern front doesn't get much of attention (when that front was right in Europe's backyard) I don't think devs will ever pay any attention to this side.
