I know im a new sub, but fuck... ! Another great indepth/detail review. Seriously I hope you are able to grow pretty fast, you deserve it. You are very fucking sincerer about your hobby of doing youtube, I fucking love it, and I hope many others will feel the same way.

I actually felt this game to be closer to Aria of Sorrow rather than Symphony of Night. Granted they're both Igarashi headed Castlevania titles, but I think Timespinner borrowed more ideas from Aria rather than Symphony. Otherwise I pretty much agreed with the review, although I think I would've been harsher towards the story since i found it to be a complete mess.

Just finished this game, in 2021, and I enjoyed the combat and exploring. The failure of this game, is its explanation of weapons and how to upgrade them. I went with the hammer "weapon" and never changed. I enhanced? I believe that is what it is called, and did nothing else. The shop was useless, and never felt the need to grind for better gear. (none was offered) It gets confusing halfway through, and unless you are playing this in one sitting, you may get lost, and give up, because the objectives are nonexistent. Thanks for the video. Very good review. I agree on nearly all points. But I don’t think SotN is really all that accomplished when it comes to the RPG and gear elements. There’s lots of useless junk and a lopsided levelling system. It’s better than this game, though.

For me the "shoot for the moon" quote only works for innovative examples, and copying an old game really isnt innovative. This, to me, makes the level design and the dull art design problems even more unforgivable.

This is one of the best 2d platformers I have played and the fact that it plays and looks like Symphony of the night is even better

It's an OK game, the mechanics and plataforming is good but way underused, the same with the time travel aspect of the game, for a metroidvania has very little to almost absent verticality and long hallways. It seems it took more inspiration in Order of Ecclesia than Symphony of the Night. Combat is great but you are way overpowered by the midgame to bother with it's nuances. The story, not the world building, character design and script is goddamn awful and ruins any impetus to see the alternates endings. Lunais is an horrible protagonist.
