I had high hopes for this watch because I liked the looks of it. Then I read the specs and got pissed off that Timex would throw the cheapest components on a case and charge $269. Times sends a very clear message. They don't respect the customer. I'd wager they didn't make the case either...

I haven't owned a Timex for decades but I recently picked up the Navi XL two tone rose gold version brand new at way under half price. I wasn't expecting too much from it but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this piece and two weeks on I still find myself reaching for it over other watches in my collection.

I have this 'Navi XL Automatic' but in SS and with the blue bezel and dial and I just love it. I managed to snag it during the end of summer season sale with an additional 20% saving. It looks great on other 20mm bands/strap that I have on my possession. I'm really glad that Timex have revisited their and my past!

I just ordered the Navi Black on impulse. I like that Timex is upping their game, even though they cut corners. I do like this model for the movement, The case is Steel, and I like the circle hour hand to reveal the military track. I think its comparable to Seiko 5KX.

nice review as always! I agree about Timex. I was surprised several years ago to see some of their offerings that i felt were must haves in my collection including a cool trench style watch with wire lugs, The Waterbury with sub seconds, and the 38mm Navi harbor (with the same hour hand round window) . Now i am eyeing their mechanicals…

Just bought this watch in brown about a month ago and I love it. Very nice watch and I got it for way less than $269. Paid around $160.

The movement works ok, IS especially DESIGNED to do so. In case the hands get blocked, It prevent further internal machinery damage, then under gravitational pull, seems to lag, but It return to the accurate counting.

I like the difference in the luminosity between the hands and the hour markers.

Nice review! Was looking at the red/brown version of this watch, both look great. I dig the case size too, hoping the fat, oversized watch fad is coming to an end

Nice watch Insomniac, and good video as always. Only one question? is all stainless steel? or only the back case? because Timex use to make brass cases

Thanks! All stainless steel (forgot to mention that in the video) Almost all watches now made with brass cases are left brushed so they can "patina" over time.

Timex has some really strong designers. All they need to do is make sure the finishing is on point, they stay fairly affordable. I have really come to love many of their upper end offerings but it will be hard for them to shake that tinex=Walmart association. That said, I wear mine proudly as they are Solid watches at a good price and often excellent looking as well. I don't even care about analog movements. Just use high end quartz to help keep the cost down and focus on everything else.

The strap is made by S.B. Foot Tanning Co and it is the same that came with my Navi XL!

Good to know! Still doesn't explain why Times advertises this watch with a different strap, but it's good to know that I'm not the only one lol

I was able to buy it from a well branded shop for 107 dollars which was very suspicious and I thought there will be imperfections defects but I couldn’t notice anything to be frank which was suspicious so I guess I was lucky enough

I have this love for Timex that doesn't make logical sense. There is a Seiko 5 that looks very similar with a far superior movement that you never hear or feel, however, the Timex has a certain mojo about it. I hate the myota movement but I would probably still get the Timex.

I purchased this watch 2 months ago. Tired of adjusting time every 5 days. Runs way to fast 6-1/2 minutes fast in 5 days. I have 4 Citizen watches. They run around 1 minute of accuracy in 3 months.

I can't. Timex should do what Seiko did with Grand Seiko and create a new label for watches it wants to set apart. The Timex brand is too damaged by its association with cheapness.

@@ShouldITimeThis LOL This is the best part of this video. I'd be really interested to know how well this holds up after 6 mos after 1 year. Every Miyota I've ever owned was trash and broke over time because of the plastic components.

It's called ' MOVEMENT ' not an effin' motor, make your content accurate.

Try watching the video before you leave a dumbass comment. I have NEVER referred to a movement as a "motor." The only place I used that reference was on the thumbnail, because mechanically speaking, the movement is what powers the actual mechanism - so it's the equivalent to a watch's "engine" (look up the definition for engine / motor - a watch movement LITERALLY DOES WHAT THE DEFINITION STATES). So 1. you're actually wrong, and 2. I've never used the terminology "motor" in a review. Watch a video before you make an ass out of yourself.
