I recently purchased a Timex Weekender Peanuts Edition in Purple for my mother and she love it. Especially the indigo feature. Thank you Timex for making good looking useful timepiece that are available for purchase at an affordable price.
So funny you said that. I have been working from home for 18 months now due to covid I started watching these watch videos on RU-vid and caught the collecting disease. At first I didn't know what I wanted, I'm not doing it as an investment, just for fun. I wound up owning 1 watch to now owning 40 Timex watches (in less than a year). lol. I just love these watches and the new reissues they are putting out are awesome. Obviously I understand a luxury watch is at a entirely different level of collecting, but I'm having fun looking at my Timex watches and like another poster said, something about seeing that name on the watch. If you are not a horology buff but enjoy Americana Timex is a logical choice. I invest in stocks, so I don't need to worry about them being nothing more than fun toys for me.
TIMEX WATCH COMPANY..I have one of the very CHEAPEST Timex watches: 41$ It is over four years old, which is not anything..but the AMAZING thing about it is that it is still keeping perfect time on the SAME BATTERY !! Never been changed! 👏❤
Nicely done. I've got the very same Weekender watch at time hack 3:39 m/s. One of my favorites. I prefer the analog watches (e.g. Timex: Easy Reader, Waterbury Classic) the older I get. Timex has done a good job of providing quality watches at affordable price points.
I love Timex. Wish they were still made here in the USA but speaking with an old watchmaker in my town, he said that some of the best watchmakers today are all in that part of the world. By the way what a classy watch @02:52.
@@stemikger Yes! However, I'm not a fan of the choice of seagull movements. I've had my eye on the silver Marlin for a while, but even on sale I've always passed and bought watches from other brands instead. I'd even be fine with miyota 8000 series or Seiko entry instead of seagull TBH.
Awesome watches. You can't beat them for the price. Beautifully styled, solid built and unexpected accuracy for the price. I just bought a second Timex a few days ago Will be adding to my collection.
Fantastic everyday watches, reasonably priced. I've been buying timex watches for over 30 years, and they still work. I've only had a problem with one of them, the indiglo stoped working. I think it was a problem with the crown.
SPACE TRUCKER clean the gunk out from under the crown with a toothbrush dipped in hot water. It should melt your humanness out of there and indiglo might work!
When I was in the Navy my favorite watch was the Atlantis 100. Now have a classic silver digital that looks dressy enough for most occasions but sturdy enough for work
I used to think of Timex as a crappy Walmart brand that my dad thought was the best thing ever, but now that I'm older I've come to appreciate their features, affordability, and designs.
I’m from Iraq I have 9 Timex watches, all of them are amazing especially my automatic Waterbury. Thank you for making great stylish and reliable watches.
My first watch was my dad's Timex. (You don't give a rambunctious kid a Patek Philippe.) It was made in the 50s. I still have it. Throughout the years, I've had little problem obtaining a battery. Though I no longer wear it, I like that it keeps on ticking. I've been offered big bucks for it.
It's interesting to see that even to this day even watches that are considered to be rather cheap have human touch applied in their production. I was expecting to see fully automated production line, and I'd be fine with that I suppose. I'm glad I was wrong. It's nice to know that it's still as much art, as it is engineering.
Looks like just a modern version of the factories of the past, all monotonous, simple tasks. I’d rather my Timex watches be fully automated in their assembly.
Paul Gallagher It is, indeed. It’s reliable and being a quartz watch it keeps fabulously accurate time. That watch has been one of Timex’s best sellers since it’s release in 1977.
@@taylorwatson7932 Do you have any idea when the Timex Weekender was first released? I have been trying to find out the history of this watch but with no luck.
TIMEX WAS MY FIRST WATCH OMG it’s been years since I’ve owned a new one now that I’m a proper enthusiast I feel like I should get one of their watches just for fun What do you guys suggest? I feel like getting a chronograph
Waterbury chronographs are very tasteful IMO. Come in bunch of different frame/face variations too. All in very classic sleek colour combinations. I think there's nothing wrong with a seasoned vet using a Timex :) After all, it's a company that held up to it's reputation for over 100 years. That's got to be worth something.
Is this the Philippines plant? I have a background in manufacturing and production and a passion for Timex watches. Vintage and modern. Would love to work in this industry.
I love my Easy Reader. It was inexpensive and I call it my generic watch. My only complaint is it has this date function I never use. I recently bought a new watchband for it and I paid like 12 bucks for another simple black leather band.
I love timex expedition scout series watches but they are quite rare to be found, i wish to buy a very specific expedition. I hope I may be able to find it in future 🤞🏻
Can you tell please that why my timex tweg16505 second hand needle is not ticking on second point instead it ticks 0.5 seconds ahead. Please tell is this a problem should i report it to timex service centre ???
Timex got a lot of memories because of my father a mariner in his time that he introduced me to a Timex automatic waterbury a name that has its own history!
I wonder if timex would ever make a higer end watch- like say somewhere along the lines of Oris or Fears. I really think they could go upmarket if they wanted to. I think people would buy a higher end timex.
We’re sorry to hear the watch didn’t fully meet your expectations due to its loud ticking. We feel bad that you had to put it in a box while sleeping just to not distract you. The ticking on the watch depends on several factors like the size and the materials used in making the watch and its movement. We understand that it can be loud especially when in a closed room. Our Quality control team have been made aware of this issue for some of our watches that has a loud ticking sound. They are currently in the process of finding a solution to lower or tone down the ticking sound of the watch without affecting the movement.
I just got a Timex for Father's Day. It has a nice blue face and tan leather band. No day / month, but it's nice looking. It just is too darn loud with the ticking !!!!! I have had Timex watches before and I don't remember the loud ticking like this before.
It's kind of their thing. The older mechanical and autos are pretty quiet, but their quartz analog models are quite a bit louder than say, a Casio. Personally, I find the ticking soothing, but I grew up with grandfather clocks.
Hey Timex please make the green lcd display again in digital watches. And go back again to the great indiglo that is part of your signature, and try to make that the indiglo light last more that 5 seconds please. Hope timex make that happen 🙏
My late father Harry started the timex amatures football club 2 teams in 1951 mum used to wash the red and white hoops strips he managed to get the teams in the Midlands amatures leagues in 51 two weeks after the leagues were started timex had a big pull in Dundee as no other team could do so the midlands started in 1926 lol I started to go in 1952-53 season 😀 the teams travelled by bus train or tramcar no body had cars then happy times 😀 😉 👍
My 45$ timex that’s 20 years old is still working and accurate as the day i bought. It, my 750$ automatic seiko is sent of for warranty repair go figure
Hi! Timex is both a global corporation and a great American brand. We pride ourselves in our long history of craftsmanship and authenticity; and while we don't currently offer a made in America line the possibility is always there. Thank you for our support!
@@TimexUSA They do now! Finally! American Documents line. Would love to get one but $500 is a bit steep. Maybe at $350. Not pulling trigger yet due to price but love the made in USA idea!
@@TimexUSA People not being willing to pay higher prices at the cost of making things in the US, is exactly why timex cant mostly, while being competitive. If timex made a watch for around $300, or $450 with an auto with a diamond or sapphire crystal, made fully in the US i think it would sell out. The quality is up there these days. There are companies that sell watches with sapphire crystals, assembled (with foreign parts), in the US for around $200. If anyone had the power to bring production and jobs back to the US, timex would be one of them. Loving the retro watches like the marlin. theres about 30 beautiful 60s and 70s designs that would translate to today.
You cannot get the same quality from anything like 20-30-40 years ago. The same happened to every big companies. They drew people attention with quality first, then they found themselves in a rat race, in a competition of cost reduction and profit margin... This led all big quality companies to outsource their production to cheap countries, mostly in China, then to Malaysia, Philippines, but also to South America etc.. This happened to the cheaper Casio, Seiko products as well, but with cloth companies and most of other industries as well. That is why my clothes bought in the 90's are like brand new still today, while the ones I buy from the same brand today last for few months or up to a year or two.. The same with watches from the 70's, 80's, 90's or earlier, and other stuffs as well. To be honest kinda frustrating that what was natural 20-30-40 years ago, now counts as luxury.
The best value American watch is the Ball Engineer at $1500. It's all American, down to the movement. If Timex released something with a USA-made movement I wouldn't mind dropping $500-1000 on one. Grow out of your pin lever fashion watch phase, Timex. You all have been at this for almost 2 centuries now. Get it together.
I'm kinda feel sad to see that timex products are made in phillippines such a histioric company to move out of USA and im not even an american or living in america either im just love the brand ! :/
Was shocked to learn Timex was from CT. I know the state isn't business friendly but if you're going to make a watch named after your city of origin you could at least try to have some manufacturing presence here.
Were quite a few watch companies in the Naugatuck valley of Connecticut, the area was known as the Switzerland of CT. Timex is the one left standing to this day.
Just purchased two timex watches. For myself and my daughter. Liked it and decided to search the history of the brand. And what do I found! Once American manufacturer now making them in Vietnam and alike. Another example how our business cares about profits only. They just don't give a sht about country and fellow Americans. Why tissot, longines, etc stayed in their place? Why timex was to go? Will never buy again.
Sorry, but for someone who worked for an outsourced american company in the production, this "assembled with passion" line is just LOL. But it could have been any other company, assembling with passion in mass production is still lol :D
