Its been many decades since my last timex. Indiglo is such an under-appreciated feature. It makes this watch my new favorite. Fabulous value. Excellent review by the way.

I just bought one here in Spain. It has a really clear face, very easy to read. I love it! Indiglo is gorgeous.

Great watch, almost perfect for most people who want to wear a watch and aren't fussed about branding or prestige. Indiglo simply rules in terms of illumination. I want a larger dial and at least WR 50m for a daily watch, and I prefer having a date window; my Timex is an Expedition for that reason.

Closer to 40 dollars today (Sep 2022) but still, if it's durable enough to last 10 years, a bargain despite its shortcomings. The styling accomplishes something that a lot of watch makers have a hard time grasping, finding that sweet spot where the combination of minimalism and practicality achieve "classiness" in an economical package.

I bought a Timex Expedition about 3 months ago and I love it. Timex is good value and THIS is a good video.

I picked one up second hand in near new condition. It is on a great steel bracelet with perfect fitting end links.

Ive owned and worn my Tinex watch for the last 18 years everyday. The only thing negative is the lighted dial doesn't work anymore. I only paid $20.00 for it.

My weekender is still going strong, although scratched up, after 5 years.

I love mine. Great size, weight, legibility, Indiglo, and comfortable band. I have swum with mine several times in my pool with no problem. The ticking is very loud- probably my only minor complaint.

I like the ticking. Reminds me of my vintage pocket watch.

I bought one of these on vacation last year cheap as chips; but love it. I wear is all the time even though I have some pretty nice watches. I say to myself its a beater watch. But I would be upset if it was damaged🤣🤣. i just love the design of dial it is ionic

Great review mate! For 30 $, it is a bargain, no doubt. Unfortunately for some of us in Europe there's no way of getting that watch for under 60 $ and that pretty much kills the idea of buying it since for 60-70 $ you can get much better watches. For an instance, the cheapest Timex Weekender on a leather strap on Amazon.uk is 58 US dollars at the moment, and getting one from Amazon.us is not an option for most of us in the EU because of the shipping and import fees, they exceed the watch price (32$ for the watch + 60$ shipping and import).

one thing that was important for me is that the indiglo function didn't last very long. Probably around 3 months? After that, the battery still runs, but you have to replace the battery if you want to use the indiglo function.

Serves its purpose. Reliable.

I’ve never had a quartz watch where the second hand lined up perfectly with the indices, so I couldn’t really be too hard on this one, but it drives me nuts; so much so that I only wear mechanical watches now. Good review and photography. Cheers!

wow I feel so stupid... I didn't realize that this watch had quick release. I have been using the crappy brown strap that came with the watch while having better straps laying around. I'm glad I came across this video.

Two observations here. First, first the most important one: This was a good review. I particularly liked your history of Timex. Well done. Second, a quibble, which I hope won't offend but will encourage you to make a slight tweak to your English usage. "Simplistic" is not just a fancier, extra-syllables way of saying "simple." Something that's _simplistic_ is so stripped down that it's missing needed elements and, as a result, doesn't work well. Example: A company that manufactures "one-size-fits-all" underpants is using a simplistic approach to its manufacturing process. It's a pejorative. "Simple," on the other hand, is complimentary. That which is _simple_ is easy to understand, effective, and sometimes even elegant. Since you are discussing elements of design in this watch review, it's important that you understand the distinction between the words and, thus, are able to commend designers who manage to find that sweet spot in design where things are simple but not simplistic. If you go over to the Merriam-Webster website, you'll see that they list _simplistic_ as a synonym for _simple_ . That's unfortunate and a result of the fact the M-W always attempts not just to give the "correct" definitions of words (a concept they might even take issue with), but rather to _describe_ how the English-speaking population is using them (wisely or not). For a short treatise on the words, give a listen to the two-minute M-W podcast you'll find located beneath the definition of "simplistic."

Can the watch strap spring pins be removed so to fit a two-piece leather strap ?

I recalled I have a Timex(Mcgyver),and a Timex indiglo at student time(30years ago), but I don't remember why I didn't keep them, maybe function dead, so I ask about the durability of Timex. I really like to buy one as as a collection.

Omg!!! I know your voice! You also have an excellent conservative channel and a healthy food living type channel! Your work is excellent.

I have the chrono weekender and it is okay but there are better choices out there for around $50. Very basic face with no applied indices, cheap quartz crystal and mine had a cheap strap that is unusable (felt like paper). If i were to do it again, I would have picked another watch but I do really like the indiglo feature.

The Timex Fairfield is my go-to watch for a night out. I have better looking and more interesting watches, but the Timex looks good enough, and you don't have to worry about bashing it against things when you've had a few beers ;)

So, when you say it's a brass case, and that it's polished, does that actually mean polished, chrome-plated brass, yes?

Nice video. I have the very similar Expedition Scout which has NO loud ticking issue.

Very nice to be loud, it is a good character, because most watches are quiet, loud second sound will be a good company at night.

Would be nice if they offered a date window version.

Well, I ordered a Weekender a couple of hours ago do you didn't cost me money on that, but now I have to search out an Ingersoll Yankee to add to my pocket watch collection.

No Quartz movement (that I know of) lines up the second hand with the markers. Only about 1/3 of the time do the land perfectly.

Here in 2022 possibly before ww3 starts when ever. Bought mine for $45 (inflation price) still not a bad price. Really love the watch.

Had this watch for about 6 years now, the battery is around 5 years as I recently replaced mine.

I am familiar with Seiko/Citizen quality because I am in Asia, but not know Timex's quality, as you know, Timex's quartz watch can runs how many years? Especial indiglo function durable or not? I would like to buy a American Brand with good quality according to your suggest.

I just saw this video and I am very impress. I mostly collect Swiss watches but I do have some Japanese and of course american watches like Hamilton, Bulova, timex ect. I tend to believe you should collect what you love and what make you feel good when wearing them. learn from everyone but listen to your heart oh and wallet.

It's always been a little odd/annoying to me that field watches with military time on the dial almost always show a 24 under the 12. Why? There is no 24:00, instead after 23:59, the next day begins at 00:00. The only watches that I know of that get it right (in my opinion) are some vintage Bulova Accutron models that have a 0 at the 12:00 position.

I like the ticking, it helps put me to sleep.

I think the "loud" movement and the second-hand missing the markers is inherent to the durability of the watch, if it is constructed a bit loose it will keep on running longer without regular lubrication.

For 450 list price I could think of some seikos that's miles better looking for another 50 extra

This is a unisex watch, and I would have liked to see what it looks like on a woman's wrist. I just haven't figured out if it is really unisex or not.
