I use a 3/8" hose that I cut to 8" to install sparkplugs. Its great for getting hand tight and I can feel the threads to make sure they don't try to get cross-threaded. Its also a life saver when the spark plugs are hard to reach.

5:44 when I was doing this and the bloke I hired to help recommended I did this I had my doubts but now I’m sold he was a master mechanic who definitely undercharged for his time although Is recommendation that it was to far gone sludge wise was not correct still runs fine

I bought 3 different specialty spark plug sockets until I found one I liked. GEARWRENCH 80546, wobble 4 " extension with plug gripper, not a piece of rubber that falls out all the time.
