@@goahr5000 I hope keeping handsome jacks chip is officially cannon to bring him back next time and remember he was supposed to be the villain again for Borderlands 3.
@@eliasacevedo5711 We need a new charismatic villian that can challenge the vault hunters. They don't have to be the same as Jack but have their own style and air about them.
Hell, him being trapped isn't the worst of it, considering everyone wanted him dead too after Handsome Jack died. Because PSQL takes place *five years* before BL2, he's been a Jackleanger for *twelve* years, plus however long BEFORE psql.
Timothy had the best character animations in the entire Borderlands series. Really hope we see more characters animated like the ones in this campaign moving forward
Funkguy Lorz - they really went above and beyond for Timothy. In scripted moments when he or other people are talking he’ll shake his hand or look at his hands. He was always moving
It'd be an interesting dynamic, given that Rhys once admired Handsome Jack and based his persona around him. And then he learned, first hand, why you can't trust Jack.
Yep I was personally not wanting to watch anything so I could wait til I play the dlc (didn’t want to spoil the dlc for myself) I saw the doppelgänger I jumped said no way and here I am
L0ST S0UL if your forget the whole “torture his daughter and siphon energy from her” (yes this was happening before pre-sequel happened or did you forget ) the sure he was amazing.
@@l0sts0ul89 He was a very "means to an end" kind of guy. Doesn't matter what happens along the way, the results are what matters. He wanted pretty much every kind of asshole dead, but he went for Scorched Earth policy, which is flawed because it doesn't discriminate bad from good, and eventually instead of this being a hero story he went kinda coo coo from being a corporate slave for most of his life, having a siren for a daughter and having his wife killed in front of him by said daughter. He didn't have friends, or people to rely on, just some brains and at least one "means to an end."
MY BABY CAKE!!! Oh Timothy was My favorite character in pre sequel. He literally acted like a normal person and wasn't like the rest of the vault hunters who enjoy killing. He was also the most sweetest boy in borderlands. I'm so glad he's not dead!
Though unlike him, Aurelia actually had a character development which lead us to know that she only enjoy killing creatures. Felicity for example but BL3 just murdered her..
Agreed. In a series full of morally grey playable characters, cough cough Lilith, cough cough Axton, it was nice to see one vault hunter who was just a normal guy who just got caught in the madness of Borderlands.
Tim feels like a broken man at this point, just someone whose desperate for the legend of Handsome Jack to die; but the universe won't let it. So he's spent the last 7 years living in the shadow of a tyrannical monster; trying his best to avoid meeting the same fate.
@Thank You 3000 NO DONT SAY IT, as far as i care ava and the twin's are dead. and should stay dead. yes i know ava is alive, but let a man live in his own world, like a crazy person. AVA NEVER HAPPEN.
Well I mean jack wasn’t originally insane he went insane due to what happened to him throughout the Pre-Sequel and the death of his daughter, and DNA doesn’t really work that way in making someone insane unless they get a genetic defect passed over, of which jack had no known genetic defects.
Good point but I’m sure the people who switched out/added on to the chromosomes on his dna helix must’ve tried to only affect his body, but he does have some minor jack tendencies which is either the chromosomes that were changed to change him “physically” also changes him “mentally” or it was that he was acting as him for so long it made him act like him. Thus ends my PowerPoint presentation lol
He was crazy from childhood trauma. He was good at hiding it, but he got progressively worse as his BPD started regression to a more sociopathic state during pre-sequal.
So with Jack's DNA in Timothy, are we looking at a situation similar to when Liquid Snake and Revolver Ocelot became "Liquid Ocelot?" Is Timothy about to become "Handsome Tim?"
For those who passed this DLC, I don't wanna spoil: This DLC showed that in a very ironic way, Timothy Lawrence was the real hero Jack was supposed to be
L0ST S0UL In terms of Jack and Timothy, it’s pretty crystal clear who’s the hero and who’s the villain. The dictator and heartless murderer of thousands as opposed to the selfless and heroic college kid who just wanted to pay off his student loans.
Remind me again why the trailer for borderlands 3 shows Aurelia, Wainwright, and Hammerlock gathered together, only to end up killing her in the game? OH! RIGHT! Because borderlands 3 is a dumpster fire with neglectful writers and developers...
It Is Crusade “Or” the original story was changed/scrapped when the game had a change in writers... Anthony Birch left and his wip story was likely dropped, remember, Borderlands 2 left us with major cliffhangers that have yet to even be addressed let alone answered in this short falling sequel. And I whole heartedly disagree with a borderlands where David Eddings is no longer the voice of claptrap. TWO DLC’s across three different titles, and was even a vault hunter in one of them, and all that just to replace him and Troy Baker? Not to mention there hasn’t been any word on the other voice actors from 2’s cast. Are we just supposed to IGNORE the fact that Axton Krieg Gaige and Salvador are no longer present? And are we just supposed to shrug it off if their VA’s have been changed as well?
@@FoxtailVA That’s the goofiest thing I’ve read today. I’m sure it would’ve been just as bad 2 years ago. How is it the “dumbest shit”? It’s literally lying to your face. AND YOUR OKAY WITH IT! Absolute goober, please throw your children away.
Alright, this, this makes me really happy. Playing as Timmy in Pre was fun, and I'm glad they brought him back. I was wondering what had happened to him after that. He's not playable, but hey, I still get my Jack fix- even if it is from a copy. I'm happy
Despite being a pompous prick, Aurelia was not irredeemably evil. In the Presequel, she was even disgusted by Jack's actions. She was already stupidly rich to begin with, why would she even need to side with bandit "peasants" like the twins for money. Gearbox screwed up.
+Paulp Catanghal Why screw them? Aurelia was a one note villain that dodged the axe during BL2, since she had yet to be created then. There was zero good in her, in fact she was one of the cruelest. I don't see how you could think she'd escape getting axed...
Hyperion enemies seem more interactive than maliwan enemies with hyperion you can shoot off their arms and legs and they have different movement and attack abilites maliwan is just dahl from pre sequel with cooler mechs
Alot of people who only stick playing Borderlands 2 and just downright refuse to Play the pre-sequel will have no clue who the hell Timothy Lawrence is, its just downright laughable and embarrassing. There was so much plot and mysteries from the Pre-sequel that are really being resolved with Borderlands 3 main game and Handsome Jack Casino DLC. Timothy Lawrence is easily my favorite in this entire DLC because he's been MIA before the events of Borderlands 2 and nobody knew at the time had a clue on where he's been at. The Echo recordings you find on him and most of his dialogue helps clarify everything on whats happen to him after the events of the Pre-sequel. Plus this also lets Dameon Clarke to keep ongoing with series with the Timothy Lawrence persona. I've also read online on the reason why he's wearing the Handsome Jack mask, it turns out the after Lilith scared Jack in face, Jack ended up branding all his Doppelganger including Timothy Lawrence himself. After reading upon that just made me feel sorry for Timothy Lawrence. I did notice that Timothy Lawrence didnt have his Digi clone abilities at all in this DLC, which kind of proves my theory, I seriously think Handsome Jack might've took or stolen it away from Timothy Lawrence. Which is why you see Jack using it before you fight the Warrior in Borderlands 2.
Couldnotic yeah idk why it gets shit on because it was better than bl1 in my opinion and had fun concepts like the low gravity and the cryo and laser guns that returned in bl3. I’m glad it’s characters are getting attention in dlc and I hope we get to see where athenas been all this time
@@mike_hawk2182 I can tell you why, the oxygen system is just annoying. Being forced to rush around isn't fun for a lot of people and kills a game regardless of how easy/hard it was. It was my first experience with borderlands... but I had to actively force myself to try the game multiple times due to how the oxygen system just detracted. Similarly the game fails with a few beats story wise such as introducing a character who goes missing for the entire game only to show up at the ending. It lacks any form of glue that it needed so it feels very unstable and from what I've played of 2 and 3 that seems to be the case with certainty.
Dragoonsoul7878 I thought the oxygen system was very forgiving with how long it lasted and even if it wasn’t you could play as claptrap who didn’t use oxygen
I always though the robot double we killed in the Opportunity mission was meant to be Timothy but fully made into a robot or something. Also, Timothy didn't make those Digiclones of him, those were Jack's. He made that stuff for Timothy because at the time he was his only double and took a lot to make him one in comparison to make a robot one.
DLC reminds me of the Sierra Madre from Fallout:NV. Especially with the crackhead bandits, robots (kinda like the holograms except not at all), and Timothy's bomb mask like your character in New Vegas i think.
And after getting our good dorky boy back, we must wait for our meat bicycle slashy-psyco boy. No seriously, give me a DLC which is just you chasing after Kreig whose going on a total rampage after Maya.
All we need is 1) for the rest of the crew to come back; Athena, Axton, Salvador, Krieg, Fiona, Sasha, Janey, Loader Bot, and Gortys. Hopefully Gaige too, but it was already confirmed that she won't make an appearance in BL3. 2) More focus on Mordecai, Brick, Tina, Rhys, Vaughn, Zer0, etc (Really any character who isn't Lilith, Tannis, or Ava). 3) Better writing for Ava.
I really hope we see alot of timothy in the future of borderlands. he is easily a crowd favorite and it would be interesting to see timothy get some character development.
Tim lives which pleases me beyond words, good kid in a nasty world (-w- Ugh. Moxi, ya think she'd be somewhat sympathetic to him even if he's a copy of her ex boyfriend, she did try to kill both of them in the Pre Sequel. But she's just being her manipulative self, to our good murderous cinnamon roll Tim of all people. Hm. ):L Glad to see him though uwu
Moxxi will always be the biggest asshole in these games to me. Because of the actions of her and lilith, she directly breaks Jack's mind even further causing him to go even more insane and try to kill everyone, granted if he had succeeded in destroying pandora then the destroyer would've also been destroyed and thus Tyreens mission would've failed immediately
Wolf99555 but his focus with that laser was to kill bandits and cleanse pandora to make it a paradise. Up until the betrayal, he had trusted Moxxi, Roland, and Lilith, and it was then in his mind he labeled them bandits. It also fueled his growing paranoia. Still I think the catalyst to start that line of paranoia was actually The Meriff. If they hadn’t tried to literally shoot jack in the back, he’d be far more open to trust, and likely could have been talked into destroying the eye. Moxxi could have played the ‘we can’t shut it down our only option would be to destroy it.’ Route.
@@chriskoloski32 this, 100% (btw pre-sequel making moxxy and lilith unlikable as part of the storyline was a red flag how the story will turn out in 3 already, at least Janey was cute...)
I said from the damn teaser of BL3 ; they'll bring him [Timothy] back and he'll look like Hell cause he's probably a huge target... WELL LOOK! Still a wee bit upset the mission isn't 'A Handsome Rumor', but I'll live with 'A Handsome Jackpot'.
When I saw this even though it's spoilers I just started shouting "YES!" While pumping my hand into the air because Tim is probably my favourite character in the game well besides Jack or Scooter (F)
So he got his new face mangled, though there is a sensible reason for that as doppelganger must look like alike. And had to perform in questionable movies just because his boss wanted to. I guess that is worse than monetizing yourself to questionable movies done by somebody else.
That explains jacks clone in the presequel was jacks present then later his face changes so his double has to do exactly the same thing yet his clones wanna live jack but do things different to him so even tho they talk to talk they don’t walk the walk the same way Timothy would of killed the vault hunters if he was jack he would of done it hell killed moxi because jack really wanted to kill her for what she done to him
RU-vid: *recommends this to me when I haven't played the DLC yet and it had been weeks since I've watched a Borderlands video* Me: WOOOOOOW SO IT'S LIKE THAT NOW???
