As much as I know this is pure jackal in response to humour, tampons are not actually called "fizzy knobblers" here, they're just called tampons, same with "gabbity gorps" (?). "Fizzy" is however, how we describe carbonated drinks: "I'll have the baked potato with tuna, and some fizzy water" etc.
