THIS. This is what soaps should be. The writing, directing & acting on this show was phenomenal - especially during this period. It’s so sad they all got canceled.
God this stuff is so good. Llanfair was so cheap looking in the 80's. All that beige. Blech. I loved Tina's pink apartment and Dorian's penthouse. I will miss Andrea and Tina always. Tina almost WAS OLTL to me in the 80's. How did OLTL get the reputation as "the show sandwiched between AMC and GH"? This show fired on all cylinders. And that great background music! HEAVEN.
Upontheventura such an underrated soap. One of the few who was pretty good at “reinventing” itself without purging characters and cast. Notice I said PRETTY GOOD. No ones perfect haha.
This clip has possibly my favorite OLTL quote referring to Viki and Clint. All the former residents of Llanfair are either going to be in prison or the sanitarium.
Dorian had a good one, too, with "I hope Mountainview Sanitarium has another room available. Because I think Ms. Lord is going to be moving in next". LOL!
It is the subsequent episodes within this storyline that is my favorite of the 25 years I watched One Life to live. Tina throws a welcoming party for herself. Meanwhile, Tracy, James (who is the murder of Dr Polk) has planted a bomb in the basement. Vikki shows up at the party and says she’s taking back Landfair. Tina says that if she tries it the whole thing will blow up in her face. BOOM!
I Love Tina she was great, and her Dorian and Asa in a scene ❤️ is magic. They never let her live down Victor Lords issues followed her the entire show. RIP AE you did the genre of Soap Operas proud!
Tina is such a great character beautiful look at that tiny waist and gorgeous hair conniving wild and manipulative leaving many men in her wake . viki always treated Tina like dirt but she embraced Todd with open arms . like mitch said to viki in heaven if she had given Tina just a little love and some money bc she also was Victor's child she would have been content as a kitten. but when u mix needy and greedy it's a lethal combo . viki got half the money Dorian as wife the other half and Todd got that 30 million trust fund Tina got nothing . what's that about . I know if Todd died within 90 days of his 25th bday Tina would have got it all but she didn't and it was left for Todd to take who was the second child of his and Irene's no wonder Tina was always acting in desperation
Dorian & asa teamed up ?! Hell has frozen over lol. Tina /andrea look so beautiful here. I cant believe the writers wanted to make sam vernon the next ingenue when they had andrea Evan's sitting there. Thank god when paul Rauch took over he made Tina the vixen the beauty the trouble maker the legend. My cousins & I started watching very young in the later 80s & we all wanted to be Tina Viki created this greedy Tina. Instead of giving her a piece of daddys fortune , welcome her as her sister & acknowledge her. She never did. In heaven mitch told viki the way she treated tina made her ripe for him. He said " needy plus greedy is a lethal injection "
No, when the library was renevated in fall of 1987, the door was gone. Actually if I am not crazy, around 1990,(when Viki was running for mayor), there was another bookcase added to the wall next to the terrace doors and then sometimes it was not there, it was just a wall (the wall where the secretary is in this scene). The door was in between the secret room passage going downstairs and the terrace, but why would it go outside if there were terrace doors?
Was this before or after the fire at Llanfair? I know the staircase to the upstairs was where the front door was or at least off to the side before. I think there was a study or something on the opposite side of the library at this time period where the front door would eventually be. Or did they just low-key change the look of the house at some point?

I didnt realize, and i am sure no one here watched but i think the writers of passions in ways wanted theresa to be a Tina. She took over Crane mansion for a time and couldnt stand andrea evans character of Rebecca and imo rightfully so. Idk the story going on here but i like Tina over all from all the clips I've seen.
I have a question about these scenes. Did they take place AFTER Tina's trial for killing Harry? Am I correct hat since Niki Smith came out Tina gained control of the Lord Estate per the will?
I know it is not that important, but it always bugged me, lol "Where the hell does that door go?", lol. In 1991 after the Llanfair fire, the door was completely gone. So, abcsoaptv, you have never seen anybody open that door since you began watching the show?
I think 🤔 over all on a whole in my opinion one life too live was the best soap on ABC, after luke and laura left gh I had almost no interest in gh,I would peak in on it but growing up I was far more into oltl over gh,AMC I never got into.
The Season VI cliffhanger on Dynasty ended with Alexis taking and occupying the Carrington mansion. OLTL seems to have borrowed heavily from that storyline, and Andrea's manner of speaking gives Tina young American Alexis vibes.
Those two had an extremely complicated relationship. Their feud allegedly began when Dorian was fired from Llanview Hospital in 1975. She believed that Viki was one that voted against her. But in the 2000's, she found out that Viki was the only one who voted for her. I'm still looking for that episode.
@@fwdthinker I remember that. Their relationship got better after their shared niece Starr was born. I’m just surprised Dorian’s defending her way back in 1986!
@@cartoob2179 I don't remember that. I know Dorian and Clint hooked up before he met Viki but he got tired of her. Clint was a big time playa back in the day. I could see Asa trying to get with Dorian but I never remember that actually happening.
Go back and back 1985. The Christmas episodes when Dorian is wearing my fav dress ever. The silver tinsle one. It a great episode of Asa and Dorian. Very short lived. She gave him the portrait of Jebb and off he goes back to Pamela. 1986
@@thedailybubble5472 Makes sense. Asa had a thing for bedding his son's women; especially Bo's. I'm surprised he didn't go after Viki! After finding out that Dorian had been with Clint, it probably drove Asa crazy wanting to try her out. SMH...
Tina Clayton needed sense knocked into her, but so did Asa, Bo, and Clint, I HATED THE PUKES, as for Llanfair Niki Smith was more entitled to it HEY, even MEREDITH LORD ( and she was dead at that point)
