TINNITUS- Can you hear that?

Tinnitus-do you know what it is?-
About 50 million people in the US know it, mostly kids, young people. Millions more outside the country.
I am not talking about a little ringing you may hear every now and then, or a mild annoyance.
I am talking about the OTHER kind, the millions of people suffering from DEBILITATING noise, LOUD NOISE, permanent and hard, very hard to deal with. I've seen lives ruined, I've seen hopelessness. And I simply cannot accept it.
The primary Tinnitus Organizations that help with the extreme cases are doing what they can, but they still face the indifference of many. Now that thousands of our Military are returning home with DEBILITATING Tinnitus, now finally, the Government and many other outlets are beginning to pay attention to this sad situation.
I am a first a music fan, musician and filmmaker. I am also a Tinnitus sufferer
Chances are, your favorite rock, hip hop or country idol has this problem but tells you nothing!
Play this loud (ironic isn't it?) and you'll see the nightmare that is TINNITUS and then think about your life style.
This is not meant to be negative...it is a simple message. Enjoy life, listen to music (like I do, love music:), but BE CAREFUL, watch your ears, feel what your body is telling you if you are in a noisy place. Use EARPLUGS if its too loud.
In the mainstream Film and Music world, people like Moby, Trent Reznor, members from bands like My Bloody valentine, Pearl Jam, people like Keanu Reeves, people like like Will.I.AM, composers like Danny Elfman... (you'll be amazed of the actual list...its long) etc, they have this and struggle with this.
And it is a struggle for many, many in the MAJORITY, so, again, I am not talking about a minor noise. And in the case you DO have a little noise, please protect yourself. It is a warning sign, not trying to freak you out (but I must be strong, because sadly, being upfront is the only way sometimes to get people's attention, in this world).
NO, I am not telling you: Panic, danger!, red alert!, all I am saying is....take care of your ears, enjoy volume but don't overdo it, be careful. Visit The American Tinnitus Association for more info.
This condition happens to anyone, in any age (believe me, this ain't just for old people)
TINNITUS- Let's help create awareness
AWARENESS = FUNDING FOR A CURE:)
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO POST THIS VIDEO ANYWHERE ELSE, TO HELP IN THE SPREADING OF AWARENESS (NOT TO SELL A PRODUCT), THEN CONTACT ME AT:

OR VISIT THE AMERICAN TINNITUS ORGANIZATION FOR MORE INFO!, don't just do what many do and "yeah, yeah, whatever...", Go there and INFORM yourself, it is simple, type :

Yeah. Same with me. And no one really understood me, when I asked my family what that sound was. But I learned to live with that. I think it's worse to get it as an adult than growing up with that sound.

Being a drummer and noticing the ringing in my ears is depressing. Not to mention being in drumline and also band sessions that contributed to it, although I can't blame the instruments, you need protection. Sucks that It's already starting and I'm 18, but this happened to people at birth so I can't complain. Only advise: Protection.

Dade Son of Sempai this is true. everyone has it but not everyone notices it. tinnitus gets louder because of stress, that is mostly why people think it can go worse. the best to do when you are sure you will have it forever is accepting it. if you want more infos, go to the tinnitus habituation thing on tinnitustalk or the 40 years cure (actually not 40 years haha)

I started with Tinnitus when I was 7 years old. I suffered a head trauma, & had concussion for a week. When I recovered I had ringing, but I didn't understand. Over the years, I've suffered severe weight loss through stress, sleeplessness, parents sending me to a shrink cause they thought I was nuts. When I didn't sleep, my mother doped me with Vallium which caused me withdrawl. I'm 30 next month & I thank God for everyday. I meditate, avoid stress caffeine & nicotine. Life is hard, but I fight.

16 years old and I got that because of a commonplace otitis. Hard to fall asleep, to concentrate at school and to read. I'm also a diligent musician and I'm afraid. Sometimes I wanna cry. I now realize how much enjoyable it is to be able to sit in a dark room and to listen to the restful Sound Of Silence, it's one of the enjoyments of life, a luck I don't have anymore. I hope it will stop because it didn't come because of a hearing traumatism, though I've got hereditarily fragile ears.
@icantbelievegoogleletmemak3787
They make it a lot bigger of a deal than it really is tbh, you get used to it so fast and dont normally pay attention to it

Tinnitus isn't JUST from loud music, it also is onset by other traumas. Would have been helpful to place some natural remedies with this video instead of plugging up the sound when going to a concert. Pineapple for example. Pressing onion & basil to extract the juice & other simple solutions. smh

Again with the natural remedy bullshit. How the fuck does a food injected into the ear stop neurons from firing to the brain ? Go smoke some natural anthrax while you're at it.

Alex Hernandez Depending on the frequency & intensity of the tinnitus, onions have a lot of benefits organically. Only small amounts may be placed in the ear canal & make sure their are no wounds, it may burn. I was raised on a farm & my children have not been seriously ill

This is so easy to overlook. In Oct '06 at the golden age of 25, I was with a bunch of friends heading to a new nightclub for the first time. Nobody thought to bring plugs since it was so quiet. After a few free double shots, two beers and three hours, I stumbled home only to hear the screech in my left ear for 4 days. I realized from pictures that I was on stage too close to a low mounted speaker. It finally subsided and I thought I dodged a bullet......really. (cont.)

It's only been 1 week of Tinnitus. But I don't know I will learn to cope. I'm 25 and its made me a burden on my loved ones. The panic attacks are horrible. It gets louder and I want to run away. But you can't run from youre own head. I pray for a cure or aid for this that makes life bareable.

If I can offer any advice from a 17-year olds standpoint it's this: The more you focus on it...the louder it gets. If you spend every hour thinking about it, it seems overwhelming. Play music (at a soft volume), turn on a fan, or think of happy thoughts--"out of mind, out of ears"

7 months age I got tinnitus from going to a single rock concert. I've listened to music fairly loud in my car, and went to concerts about once a year my whole life. All it took was this one time, the music was recklessly loud. I will never forget these 2 bands who scared me for life. I now can't drick alcohol, avoid certain medications and watch my salt intake because this will aggravate the tinnitus, not to mention sleeping is very difficult.

I have tinnitus as well. All though it's relatively quiet, I have 2 different tones of rings, and 1 buzz. It's hell at night. What I do is turn on a fan at night. One of my close friends said to me "Maybe your ears are like a higher since of perception" I believe him. The tones of my tinnitus tell me if I'm dehydrated, stressed, sick, or tired, and quiets down when I lose those ailments. I learned to see my tinnitus as a bodily sign that tells me to be happy.

Since it's within me for the rest of my life, the only possible thing I can do is to be careful around my environment and live with it. I just have to avoid very loud areas such as stadiums, concerts, etc. I learned my lesson well when I saw this clip.

Only a few seconds of that noise gave me a headache, and i can only IMAGINE how it is to hear that 24/7. Actually, it really scares me, that we can take something like THE HEARING for granted. We don't know what we got, before it's gone. Silence is the best thing there is, and i don't know if I would be strong enough to cope with this. I will be so, so careful with my hearing, being my most important instrument, being a musician and all!

I found out about this thing so called "tinnitus" when it was too late, now I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because if this high pitched ring. buzzing, or w.e (like the ones you could hear from old TVs with bad signals). My tinnitus came about 8 years ago. I was in my backyard trying to pick up my dogs toys before a storm hit, and as I was going to pick up a tennis ball from under a tree, lightning struck a metal chain that was holding a swing from the tree, and I immediately went deaf with an intense ringing in my ears. I was rendered 70% deaf for the first 2 months after this incident, and I have managed to regain most of my hearing, since. I still suffer with severe tinnitus, but I manage to deal with it.

I'm 23/m and can't remember exactly when it started, but I've had it at least a year. To help, you just have to believe that it isn't a big deal. So I never think about it, except in the morning when everything is quiet and I can hear it, but in the day it goes away (because things are louder around). It actually went away though for a month or two, but came back last week. I'm learning more about it now..

I have this 24/7/365, and it goes back as far as I can remember. I presume mine is from all the ear infections I had as a baby, but that doesn't mean it can't happen to you. Be careful, folks. Protect your hearing.

This is so true "Dont laugh my friend... it can happen to you." It sure as hell can. The thing that bugs me is that people want to find a cure for tinnitus, truth is,in my own perception, tinnitus does not need a cure of its own because its a symptom to a cause/condition.Tinnitus is not a disease or a condition that needs to be cured. This is why you must find out what is causing you tinnitus.Tinnitus is nothing more than a strong emotional reaction of annoyance to us.Find the cause, and cure it.

Yeah i get the pain as well. I'm really sensitive to loud noises, especially high-pitched ones.

Right now I am at the same situation as you but I always try to convince myself that everything is going to be fine, trust me it works Try to avoid loud sounds and stop thinking about it. Worked for me a couple times.
