TINY TIM NEVER COPIED ANYONE. HE WAS TRULY UNIQUE--AN ORIGINAL. HE WAS VERY KIND, HUMBLE, & INTELLIGENT. WHAT HE DID WASN'T AN EASY TASK. HE BECAME AN ICON WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM ANYBODY. I ADORED THAT MAN!!!
Fluff dude, he could sing deep and he could high. I'd call that a pretty decent Vocal Range. He can sing with a "normal" voice too. In fact, he kinda sounds like Elvis. Also, not all people can do falsetto like him.
@@doritodust2259 bro falsetto is not possible by the majority of men. We might be able to squeak out a note or two, but not proficiently enough to perform. If you honestly can, then use that talent ya fool
Yeah I think he put on this silly looking act because people wouldn't take his high voice seriously, but if you could get past that he was a good singer.
Camilo Asturrizaga Yeah, a friend and I were listening to this on the way back from a marching band competition and we came to the conclusion that this man has to be the master of falsetto.
Tael the Mask Salesman yeah, its amazing that he had vibrato in falsetto, its crazy. im a master of switching into falsetto cause i cant hit high notes XD
@@pogo9876 He knew people were laughing at him, doesn't mean he really enjoyed it. Man was driven to alcoholism for that reason, and that's what took his life. He is not an idiot, he knew if he wanted to pay the bills he had to keep doing what people wanted to see. You can tell tho through all of that he just had a genuine passion for music and all he wanted was to be treated the same as any other musician.
@@jessephillips5114His name was the only thing he changed. This was him. A weird guy with a massive amount of natural talent and a sense of humour. He might have sung cover songs but so did Elvis and nobody's going round talking about how he wasn't original.
In his own mind he was a musical historian, but to everyone else it was the most bizarre and hilarious comedy act ever! He was actually a very decent, kind and religious man, and a very good person. He was very sincere in his own mind, although everyone laughed, yet loved him at the same time for sometimes helping to bring out both the child and the best in us. He was a wonderful human being.
Then you will be really Impressed when he covers ROD STEWART "DO YA THINK I'M SEXY" On Carson 😁👍🏻 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jMVi9lYUGgA.html
When they show the audience I can't see where their reactions match what you are hearing at all. I think it was a laugh track. Those people aren't nearly as excited or animated as what you're hearing on the soundtrack. I always remember seeing him singing on TV but I was far too young at the time to appreciate him for the brilliant, intelligent man that he was. I strongly recommend watching all of the interviews with him that can be found online. Truly amazing.
If you read a little about Tiny Tim you realise this was, as you said just him. He wasn't putting on an act or trying to be funny. He was simply chasing fame and attention.
Watching Tiny Tim is such a breath of fresh air. Musicians of today could learn alot from a sincere original kind guy like Tiny Tim. GOD BLESS TINY TIM
I visted New York State in 1983 or 1984 he was singing for a carnival. At the end of the show he signed a $2 bill for me. I still have it. Great memories.
He was with Clyde Beaty Cole Brothers Circus to around those years. He signed autographs. I got one on a picture the circus gave out. Got it in a picture frame hanging on my wall.
+Ellen Mae Araneta To me the back up dancers were distracting. It would have been a lot better without them and have just Tiny Tim singing and dancing. The man was talented and hilarious.
I think everyone needs to take a leaf from this misunderstood talented mans book. He continued being his true authentic self despite ridicule and whatever else. He truly lived his extra life. What a man! His talent and vocal range is incredible!
I always thought this too, not in the same words exactly but the thought. He was made fun of and I often wonder if he really was serious? Or how much if an act he actually put on and if an act then how much it contributed to him being recognized? If it was an act he was pretty convincing.
@Lone Wanderer Im not knocking his talent or anything about him but to say that’s his true authentic self ? Couldn’t be further from the truth , it’s a character / image he created which was great and his voice as well as showmanship was incredible but that’s not his true authentic self .
One of the many reasons why I love Tiny Tim is because he did his own thing and he did not let stupid ridicule stop him. Even when he lost a good bit of his popularity he kept pushing on. I admire him a great deal for that. He Was Such A TALENTED Man AND I wish I had picked up on his music and his talent long before now because I really missed out on an amazing and sexy man and I have to say that if he was searching for his eternal princess, he would have found it with me. I love that man.
Yes, Kelly, yes. Yes. I will confirm that we have the same taste in men. Just look at his gorgeous long hair and crazy slightly feminine dancing and very feminine falsetto... He has zero fucks to give about being weird, but is at the same time really kind to people sending out kisses. It's just so fucking adorable. I would kiss him in the garden in the moonlight anytime.
Tiny Tim was a great guest when on the Howard Stern radio show. I met him once in the music store in Times Square in NYC, he was very friendly, and happily posed for pictures. R.I.P.
Y no cometía errores, simulaba errar.
I am anxious depressive nervous introvert very shy and with a little mild autism syndrome this great artist helped me to be myself no matter what other people say
He was actually called "Tiny Tim" when his manager or someone like that gave him that stage name to travel with a midget, sort of ironically or as a joke. It ended up sticking though.
saw him for 3 amazing shows over 2 days in small las vegas casino. he sang the top hits of each year starting in the early 1900s, 'and this was the top song of 1918', etc. spoke with him after show , asked where he was next appearing. said he was taking some time off and going back to new york city to spend time in nyc library to research music of past.
Back in the 1960s when I mostly loved rock and roll, he brought to my attention on his albums some wonderful songs from early in the 20th century like the chilling anti-war song "Stay Down Here Where You Belong," (sung by the devil about how the kings who start wars are the real devils) so as far as I was concerned he could be as crazy as he wanted and I still appreciated him.
He was definitely underrated as a musician and performer. Though I wasn’t born yet when he was in his prime, I knew of him from what people told me. Unfortunately, Tiny was dismissed as a novelty act and didn’t get the credit he truly deserved.
I love Tiny He recorded a song we wrote especially for him called AM I JUST ANOTHER PRETTY FACE---- He was really a very hip guy who used his bizarre looks and strange vocals to entertain his audiences... Tiny was the hippest person in the room And a beautiful human being who loved to perform R.I.P. pal L.Russell Brown
Lol, that was great to see. I got to see him once when I was a little boy. He visited a nursing home in Plattsburgh, ny and sang a couple of songs to the residents. Even as a little boy, I thought his wife Miss Vickie, was pretty
Very few Know this, but Herbert Butros Khaury, also known as Herbert Buckingham Khaury, Tiny Tim had a brilliant mind and vast knowlege of music. Some who knew him said he was a genius. In fact, Tiny Tim had a vast knowledge of songs from the glory days of burlesque and vaudeville. He was a walking encyclopedia when it came to music. knew the verse to almost every old standard. Tiny Tim knew who wrote it, sang it, arranged it, published it, what year it was released and what record label it was on.
Tiny Tim was the most knowledgeable and greatest interpreter of the music of the 20th century ...he had a repertoire of thousands of songs and knew the history of each of those songs to share. To only know Tiny Tim as the funny looking guy who sang Tiptoe through the tulips is akin to defining Brando as that actor who yelled Stella
His interpretation of songs is so unique his performance art is in both voice and body a legend of his art , who can make you laugh and be in awe at the same time !
This is rapidly becoming my fav Tiny Tim video. It gets better as time goes by, at about 45 seconds into the clip. Tiny was very sophisticated and knew how to work a crowd!
Awesome!! This is the first time I've heard Tiny Tim sing something other than his famous "Tiptoe Through the Tulips". A true talent that was way ahead of his time 🌹🌹🌹🌷🌷🌷🕯️🕯️🕯️💕💕💕💕
Tiny Tim (Herbert Khaury) was the sort of genius who is way before his time. Or maybe his vision was too pure for this fallen world. In 1996, Tiny Tim had a fatal heart attack while performing onstage. I’m sure that’s how he would have wished to depart the mortal realm. Here’s to you, Tiny Tim! There will never be another like you.
I knew of Tiny Tim because of what people told me about him. I wasn’t born yet when he was in his prime. They dismissed him as being weird because he sang with a falsetto voice. Yet from hearing him sing both using falsetto, baritone and tenor voices, I’m impressed by his talent. He was also a multi-instrumentalist. My guess as to why the audience laughed was because of his blowing kisses which I believe he did in his early performances. I think the name Tiny Tim is synonymous with the word icon.
Besides his unique live performances, Tiny Tim (Herbert Khaury) was a musicologist of note. His focus was on popular songs from roughly the first half-century of recorded music (about 1880-1930). He managed to record some of these old, mostly little-remembered songs, and performed others in his live shows. “Tiptoe Through The Tulips” was written toward the end of that period, in 1929. Tiny Tim’s unusual hairstyle and suit were a tribute to the style of the “Greenwich Village Bohemian” subculture of 1890s New York, which deserves more attention than it usually gets from cultural historians. The ukulele playing was also a throwback to that era.
He can rock out in those dress shoes. He liked to go to Holliday Isle down in the Florida keys, a resort on the ocean. He was a very nice guy .A down to earth person.
