There is nothing like a clean brayer when starting a new Gelli Print session. But cleaning a brayer that is loaded with dried paint can be challenging. There is an easy way. All you need is some Murphy Oil soap and warm water.

I discovered Murphy’s oil a few months ago. Very good to clean crusty rubber stamps, with a very soft toothbrush

Oh course! I've been cleaning my stencils with Murphy's for years. Thanks for the tip, acrylic paint dries so quickly in the winter that it is dried by the time I try to roll the extra paint. So now You are not only a great artistic inspiration to me you are full of practical info too. Thanks!

Thanks for that. If the paint is one there thick then leave it to soak overnight. It falls right off.

At the end of every day, I place my brayers in water/Murphy's Oil Soap, and leave overnight. Then I wipe over trash can with old paper towel, which takes off most paint, and then scrub lightly with soft fingernail brush, works great

I never thought of the fingernail brush. I accidentally left it soak over night and when I picked up the brayed the paint just slipped off. But it only had a few layers of paint. Thanks for sharing.

Very helpful..Murphy's soap and warm water. One suggestion..as I dropped a screw down my sink when cleaning a fan which required a p!number as I did not have a sink strainer in my sink, I suggest always having a sink strainer in place to catch debris. Thank you again for your Tiny Tips!

You bet. My studio is an office what I share with other business people, not artists. There is no sink in my studio so I have to use the shared rest room. I'm super careful not to ruin the sink or clog the drain. I also have to clean the sink after. I look forward to the day when I can have a slop sink again.
