Good demo Tom! This is already on my list! Update: Bought it and WOW! I’m really impressed with how great the preamps sound! From clean and crisp to crunch and more. Well done Two notes. Now I just hope a Dual Rectifier preamp is released.😄 A Lab Series L5 preamp would blow minds, but no one has that.😁

So… do you have a post processing delay on or something? Things a great demo video, but the delay on makes it a little harder to hear the straight pedal. I do like the delay on for some of it, but I also want to hear some of the pedal with no delay.

I need more knobs and buttons! Much more! :) I am an old fart, hate menus. I have CAB M+ and I am depressed every time I have to tweak something. E.g. just changing the depth parameters in preset requires MORE THAN 10 pressing and step-wise rotating of knobs (in addition to tweaking depth parameter itself). Boss ir 200 seems to be much more user friendly, but I am not sure if it sounds as good as two notes.

Hi guys, I've got the OPUS just few days ago, I've tried it in stand alone mode, connecting it with my headphone, (guitar > opus> headphone) and I can say that the sound that came out it is really bad, it is like connecting a pedal/pedalboard straight to the audio interface... the sound is really buzzing, like a mosquito ahahah... Has it happened to any of you? So, I've tried to connect it via XLR out straight to my audio interface, and monitoring the sound out using the headphone from the output from the audio interface, it is not bad, but not as not as good as I thought... thanks guys, let me know your experience in this! thanks

I ordered one. Waiting on it. But that buzzing behind the notes may drive me insane. Gate is fine when you stop playing…of course I am not sure if I should expect this from everything.

Ross from Two notes here! So, this is our TSM emulation on the higher gain preamps. As these are modelled on real amplifiers, when you push the gain, you will hear noise just like a real amplifier. OPUS features a number of gain staging options to optimise your signal to noise ratio including an Input Pad, Input Level Selector and then the multiple gain stating tools within the Torpedo DSP to help keep this to a minimum.

I got one of these and I have a hiss that is constant on every preset. Doesnt matter on XLR out, balanced/inst out, or even the headphone output. There are times its at least as loud as the guitar if I play softly. Modifying the preamp gain helps a very small amount. This happens even with nothing plugged into the input. I can hear this in yours when you're not on gate, have you had any luck getting rid of this noise?

Hiss is a common feature in many of the preamps and amps found in amp sim pedals. This background noise is similar to the 'natural' hiss you'd find in many traditional amps. Of course, without hearing it, it's impossible to determine if there's another issue unrelated to the amp's sound, like gain staging or a ground loop problem. Using a noise gate should help you manage it.

I can't speak to the Strymon and Freeway since I've never tried them. However, when comparing the Opus to the Helix, I find that the Opus offers a more "organic" and less heavily processed sound. It's possible that the Helix has a built-in gate (and possibly a compressor) that's applied by the manufacturer before the signal chain and isn't directly user-adjustable. This feature might be aimed at making the sound more appealing to a broader user base. Consequently, this could explain why there is less audible hiss when using the Helix in comparison to the Opus. Personally, I prefer the Opus's more faithful replication of the amp's natural sound, even though it may retain some of the undesirable hiss. This approach allows for the preservation of subtle harmonics and transients inherent in the original sound.

The sound of electricity buzzing is an added feature that may have me send it back. That is probably why he left delay on…helps cover the buzz. Gate shuts when he stops playing and the delay covers the in between while he is going.

Does it have a through function? I could use it on my board for silent recording, but I don't want to take it off when I'm playing with my band, through an amp, and then put it back on when I'm playing of recording at home... So, a through function would be nice.

Conceptually, the Opus is the amp I would plug my board into at home for silent recording, so I don’t need it on my board when I have a different amp at the gig. If I don’t need it on the board, I leave it off and have room for something else. And I’m not risking the Opus when somebody spills beer on the stage.

You could actually configure the Dual Mono Routing for this very purpose! Simply set the 1/4-inch Line to send a unprocessed DI signal and connect your Amp to this for live performances! :)

Buongiorno, ho guardato tutti i video relativi all' Opus e questo di Tom è veramente super e mi ha fatto venire voglia di provare questa nuova esperienza ma visto la grandissima differenza di suono rispetto agli altri video mi chiedevo se quello che sento è solo Opus, ad esempio i delay? You play excellent guitar , but the sound of the opus2 I found very thin and the high tones are also very sharp. I also didn't like the distorted sounds always some mud in the backgound. I am listening 2 KRK Gen4 studio monitors.

You could use midi, but, yeah... Personally, I would use just one amp model per song, so I don't need to switch mid song. And yet, I really like the fact that the Boss IR-200 has footswitches.

Thanks for getting in touch. We wanted to keep OPUS as compact as possible and if we were to add foot-switches, we would have needed a lot of them! Instead we added full MIDI integration so you can create your own custom setup for the comprehensive OPUS architecture!

Tom’s playing is absolutely fantastic, but Opus sounds are terrible … the highs are way too harsh, spiky and artificial. I heard it in every RU-vid presentation of this new product. in spite of it, I decided to buy one just to check if its power amp simulations would work with Kingsley tube preamp. I will share my thoughts within few days and maybe do some tests online/put it on RU-vid.

The preamp section hasn't impressed me yet, but the DynIR is super impressive. As a whole package it's amazing they could fit all that in a small box and make it affordable. Can't wait to get mine on mail.

In real life it sounds very good. Do need some tweaking though. I compared it to my quad cortex and uad lion and obtained very good tones with it.

Why the cheese ball delay on everything? So distracting from hearing the true tone of this thing...cant tell what the reverb sounds like with the echoes trailing constantly. Your playing is GREAT you dont need all the delay dude. Gee whizz...
