once I fired my useless Cleveland Clinic doctor (Holly Thacker) and found a functional medicine specialist who kept up with her education/studies/new findings, and wasn't a slave to bug pharma and insurance companies, my follow ups have been something I really look forward to! My new doc is constantly looking for ways to increase and support my health and wellness and I deeply appreciate her!! SHE LISTENS!! it's amazing Lesson learned: Do not go to broken institutional care facilities who do not care or listen or stay current ❤

I went to a menopause specialist and told her about your book. She said people are just trying to make money. I have been going through PM for over 2 & 1/2 years. My gyno first tried BC and it was helping me until I got a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. Then the doctors said I cant take any HRT. I cried so much. 😢I’m miserable.

I’m postmenopausal with no flashes anymore but I had trouble sleeping and other symptoms. Started with patch of estradiol and progesterone. Also used vaginal cream for dryness. Started experiencing vaginal bleeding, bloating, breast tenderness. My doctor did a D&C. No cancer. I cut my patch in half and continue with progesterone and vaginal cream. So far so good. Go back to doctor in June.

Yes please address GLP 1 use in conjunction with hormone replacement therapy. Also could you address contraindications to estrogen replacement, specifically with the heart. Thank you!

I have no symptoms. I'm 52 and had a partial hysterectomy years ago so don't even know if I'm menopausal. I got on HRT to prevent heart disease, Alzheimer's, and osteoporosis. My dexa scan showed osteopenia. Dr. Barbara Taylor said the minimum amount of oral estradiol for disease prevention is 1 mg so that's what I requested. I have no idea if it's working to prevent disease and I can't find any agreement on minimum dose anywhere else.

There is another Doctor called felice Gersh she is extremely knowledgeable on HRT also a menopause specialist and talks a lot about bone health and healing so check out her videos as well ☺️

Thank you so much for your videos!! My gynecologist reluctantly prescribed estradiol patch (1x per week) at .5 mg and oral prometrium 100 mg. I am nervous about taking bc I’m not sure I trust she knows what she’s doing with dosage and I know that’s vital for benefits and reducing any side effects. I’m perimenopausal with 100 days of no bleed. She normally treats only post menopausal women, which is why she originally said “you’re not there yet” when I approached her about HRT. Her first response was “I can give it to you, but I know you’re going to bleed heavily and we’ll have to do a biopsy and you don’t want that.” I pushed back and got her to prescribe, but I’m worried about the dosage. I have very light periods when I have them. Should I find a new doctor??

This sounds exactly like my appt with my "menopause specialist" (pellet pusher) obgyn except she wouldn't prescribe at all. Ended up getting from Midi Health via telehealth. Just started last week, but so far my period (now) doesn't seem any different.

@@annmarie3573 I ended up looking at the NAMS site to find a provider near me and scheduled for the end of May. The hesitancy from my gyn and seeing that Kaiser recommends CBT for hot flashes (really???), I decided I wanted someone who really knows what she's doing! I found someone who focuses on whole lifestyle (nutrition, exercise, etc.) but is also very close to completion of Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy Certification through Worldlink Medical. I thought I ovulated a couple of weeks ago and had some very light spotting but no real period. I love Dr. Hirsch's videos and I also follow Louise Newsom and Mary Clare Haver and have made some diet changes. Cutting sugar and processed food seems to have stopped my hot flashes! I had two doctors who were either against HRT or unsure how to treat. My third doctor is amazing. I know it’s time consuming and expensive. But if you can keep looking for an educated doctor.

I was prescribed synthetic progesteron “… because, you know, animal cruelty”. Is the natural better- not to be insensitive but I’m more worried about humans… What is your opinion according to any studies you’ve done or read on? Should I request the other?? I am due to start it the 1st of the month. I didn’t google it yet…. And are there any sites about the true process of how the natural is made?

I have a question. Is getting a mammogram a "law" in order to get HRT? I choose to do thermal imaging and follow up with a ultrasound, my specialist refuses to refill my HRT until I get a mammogram. I paid out of pocket for my thermal imaging and this is how I choose to do my exams at least for now. Do I just need to find a new Dr or will nobody prescribe to me due to this? I feel it is MY choice just like nobody is forcing me to take HRT, why should I be forced to do a mammogram if I choose to use other methods?

I wonder about this as well. I do have mammograms, but not as frequently as my doctor wants me to. I find her to be very “pushy” on this, and I don’t like it. After discussing pros and cons of mammograms (which doesn’t happen with my doctor), it should be my decision how frequently I want to have them, HRT or not. I have the feeling it has to do with the doctor not getting into “trouble”, I.e. exposing herself to a potential lawsuit, if a patient develops breast cancer on HRT and not having been screened before starting it and while on HRT. Or something like this. Maybe Dr Hirsch will answer. Would like to understand this, too. Doctors’ fear of litigation is real in this country (U.S.), and I haven’t heard any of the menopause specialists I follow talk about this specifically as it relates to HRT prescribing.

I went out of pocket for biote since my primary doesn’t provide HRT. Feel lots better and coming up on a year (7years menopausal) now I’m finding out biote not good according to online docs 😮not sure what to do

Had a follow up today with my gyn who prescribed my hrt a year ago. I asked to try an increased dose bc still have symptoms. I was told my symptoms could be either low or high estrogen and she suggested I see a functional medicine dr for more in depth testing

Dr.Hearsch have you ever had a patient that have balance in body?From brain to toe?.Mr and all other med.staff is normal.I belive is hormonal.Hard to walk ,swingging in legs when standing

Heather Hirsch my wife is full menopause and going through a bad time with long hot flashes and waking up between 2-5 with migraines and neck pain very bad. Plus she has high blood pressure and was thinking about bio identical hormone pellets she needs help? We are In Fla Saint Petersburg Fla 33709 she went too doctors and they said they can’t help her please help
