I like that technique of wrapping the rope around itself so it gives them some feeling of freedom. My young mare pulls back when she's being hosed and once she broke the lead line. Scared me that she was going to run off but I think she stunned herself too.
I experienced our horses having a panic attack while cinched, back then we tied them tight so they couldn't get away, it was pretty ugly... I agree with tying them more loosely.

Great video, could you do one on how you tie off if you run split reins. I know your never supposed to tie with your reins but yea sometimes I dont have a halter.
