I have waist length fine hair and agree with everything she said in this video! Tfs!!!! To everyone reading this, Jesus loves you! Lets turn to Him before it's too late!! He is the only way to Heaven!
I have very fine hair....you know what we call low density, low volume low everything 😂 am glad I found your channel and especially because you are a professional and knows what you are saying ☺
It’s dried gooseberries. I buy it as a powder and infuse it in either an oil or aloe Vera juice, I also add it to my deep conditioner. My hair has been appearing thicker since (I think it also prevents shedding which contributes to my hair looking thicker)
Girl where were you 10 years ago when I first went natural 😩 Thank you for a wonderful video as always, it's good to see you! As a trichologist are we able to book consultations with you regarding scarring alopecia and other scalp conditions?
OMG! I was referred to your channel and I'm so glad I was! I have fine, low density, high porosity hair and the information you have put out has been extremely helpful. It's so refreshing to finally find someone that is telling the truth about fine, high porosity natural hair. Thank you!
You are so smart and well spoken that me, a girl with medium straight hair (Native American roots) loved to watch what you have to say about things I don’t understand and types of hair I don’t have. Keep the great work! Xoxo
I use the tangle Teezer for Fine and Fragile hair after I use my wide tooth, medium tooth, and small tooth seamless combs. Yes, my hair is ultra-fine so much so that my trichologist told me no more cornrows or box braids with or without extensions. Yes, I've seen an improvement in my hair since stopping the small braiding. The only braiding I'm allowed is two or three french braids.
@@marleyhill34 oh me too, I’m in a similar position, my hair has been shedding&breaking terribly that I’m only doing low tension hairstyles for now and moisturizing a lot. however I just brought the tangle teezer with a handle And I wonder if I just made the biggest mistake😬
@@teeeee9174 I moisturise daily and I only use the tangle teezer and small toothed seamless combs once every 6 weeks. I shampoo and Deep condition weekly and use the wide and medium toothed seamless combs then. I section my hair into one inch sections for detangling on damp, clean, deep conditioned and moisturised hair. So about 20 sections once a week.
@@marleyhill34 oh wow daily, has your hair always been this fragile or what do you think triggered it? Plus What do you use to moisturize and Do you use protein on your hair? Wow 20 sections😱 that’s a lot, seems like I might have to do the same
Hands down! This video is talking to ME!. Ive watched so so many but this right here is the most descriptive and informative detailed and to the point Best Ive ever seen...Ever. Thank you Forever Afope ❤
I wish I had seen this video 15 years ago it would have saved me from alot of stress honestly. Everything she stated are tips that I learned the hard way. Great video 💕
Still bingeing! I have been using the Ordinary's Hair Density Peptide since July for the edges of my relaxed hair and I feel like it is making a difference. I plan to continue into the second bottle, I use 3 to 4 times a week.
I agree. Crochet and knotless braids really are better for fine hair if you want added hair. I always end up with some kind of damage when doing anything else. I discovered the power of detangling brushes and could never switch back to a wide tooth comb or recommend it to a friend. This video was great. I think I follow most, if not all, these tips.❤️
I got sucked into skincare RU-vid; now I'm looking for hair care RU-vid. Wasn't really into some of the hair tips I was hearing in skincare land. Happy to find you!
Yesss I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve tried the ordinary peptide serum.. it’s actually really good. Thanks Fops - this was super informative as usual 🤎
How did you use the Ordinary peptide serum please? did you wash your hair/scalp each day after using the serum? & can you oil your hair while using it ? thank you!
@@sopeadaralegbe8077 I just massaged it onto my edges every other evening. I didn't wash my hair everyday. It's quite a light serum so you can definitely do the rest of your usual regimen
Ok I’m binge watching all of your videos. Thank you for all of your great info. You do find very many high porosity You tuber with fine high porosity hair. You have been a blessing to me.
Finally the video for me 🥰. I just recently bought the EZ brush and tbh I did feel it was too harsh on my hair so I decided to only finger detangle. Thank you 😊 🤗
Looking through the ingredient list of my first leave-in conditioner I wondered why niacinamide was in the As I Am Long & Luxe GroYogurt. It also has caffeine. Thank you for explaining.
I own and used all the leave in on your list lol Light weight leave in My hair didn’t really like the Camille Rose coconut leavin strangely. The style setter and DC In that line are great thou. My hair liked the Curl Milk more, it detangled like a dream and the ingredients are similar to the coconut leave in (marshmallow root and slippery elm). The kinky curl knot today dried out my hair so I don’t really use it. The mane choice tropical moringa is a good leave in. I’m going to try making my own mix to see if I can get extra slip during detangling.
I can verify all what you said is correct and your hair will definitely grow because I used all her recommendations by chance and as funny if I had found her 2 years ago my hair that's not growing what wasn't grown will now be quite a long length
This is a fantastic video! I appreciate the conversation around fine natural hair that you are creating with your platform and I am thoroughly impressed with the depth of your expertise! I'm DEFINITELY subbing! 😍🙌🏾
🤔 fine hair is often mixed with thin hair. I have fine hair but have no problem with density 🙄. It’s quite problematic…fragile, painful to detangle and takes along time for braids
I love this video and I will be watching it again to remember all the tips. I can absolutely confirm that all the ingredients you've listed are GREAT for fine hair and the Knot Today is one of my favourite product of all time! Along with the Shea moisture Raw Shea butter detangler which also has slippery elm and marshmallow root :) thanks a lot I'm definitely going to start stretching my hair more in between wash days which is one thing I have not really been doing. I think my hair does not really like wash n gos and I do see your point as detangling an old wash n go is so much more difficult than if I kept my hair in 2 simple braids all week. Thank you so much again, had to subscribe
Thank you for making this video! We definitely need high value informative content like this! ;-) And I can attest to the marvels of the Flex Dry Wet Brush. I started using it a year ago, it's a total game changer in terms of reducing breakage! :D
20 passes? I wish! 4 passes and my whole head is done. My forest has a very small amount of 3b/3c coils in it 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺. Thankfully the US companies are now shipping wigs and weaves to Australia and also commercial products for our usage. Being a POC with coily strands stumped many a hairdresser for the first 25 years of my life here. Thanks for all your advice and for imparting your knowledge to us.
Hello! I'm new to your channel and have been binge waiting your videos over the past few days. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm not sure if I have fine strands but you address some issues that I seem to always have (single strand knots and breakage) so I'm just gonna assumed I'm fine for the time being and follow your tips lol. Will you ever do a video on scalp conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis? And how to have healthy scalp/hair care with said conditions.
Hi Kenisha! Welcome, welcome! Thank you so much for subscribing! I'm looking to do a video to help with this identification process soon, so hopefully that will help.
I just wanted to say that I have just found you on RU-vid and your videos have changed my life. I didn't realise how to keep my hair moisturised until I found you! Thank you so much!!! 🙂😁🖤
Welcome back! Hope you're feeling well rested 😊 Great content as always! I seem to have a mix of textures and densities on my head but the majority seems to be fine/medium. I'll definitely be analysing my hair routine to see if I'm optimising my hair care 😊 x
Fine hair is different from low density hair. The serums that you linked down below are helpful to get more density and grow more and new hair hence why these serums are recommended to be used directly on the scalp. I would like to thicken up my already existing hair strands which means that I would have to apply a product for that directly on my hair rather than on my scalp. Do you maybe know a hair product that can thicken and make the diameters of single hair strands wider like you explained?
You really hit the nail on the head! I have a channel that covers my thin fine hair journey and literally everything you mentioned is the reason for my hair growth! You Rock Sis !!!
Hi Afope, I have fine tightly coiled(4c hair) of medium density and I was excited to try the wet brush flex dry but I noticed the balls kept catching on my hair. Is there any other brush you would recommend please? My detangling sessions take 2+ hours and I’m at my wits end
Try the newest tangle teaser for type 4 hair. Just use small sections and make sure you have slip. Also try denman's paddle brush. The one without the balls. You can detangle your hair in bigger sections with that.
We really need updates on the products for our little fine hair :D Thank you so much! I wish I could have an appointment with you, but I am too far away :(
Thanks for these lovely tips, on top of fine hair; I suffer with Serb dermatitis, what are your best tips in managing this condition on fine hair. Thank you
@@vlurzz i first went to a dermatologist (smh they're not for scalp but for skin)& they had me on this steroid shampoo. Insurance stopped covering it. Then I did some research and started using Nizoral shampoo . Tried Neutrogena tgel shampoo too. The only thing is to only use it on your scalp bc it will leave your hair shaft/strands feeling like STRAWWWWWWWW lol. I totally stop using coconut oil bc in my case, it aggravates my scalp. But honestly I don't use the shampoo anymore. I dont know if my symptoms have subsided a little bit but it use to be so bad that I had to LITERALLY wash my hair every week no excuse, no longer, bc my scalp would be on fire&I would scratching none stop foreal foreal where I was almost in pain and tears, to now I can go 3 weeks but I still mainly wash once a week(mon or tues) the most ill go is 2 weeks. I dont add tons of oils on my scalp even though to me it looks and feels dry but our Condition says we're producing too much oil. I oil my scalp with onion&garlic oil i bought from belle bar. If not that oil, ill do a light oil like grapeseed or sweet almond.
Nina Cardoza Hi Nina thank you, I’m UK based and I visited a trichologist for my scalp and she gave me her Tar based shampoo and a cream which I use weekly, I find it a bit drying on my strands so I try to use it on my scalp alone and use a milder shampoo on my strands, I’ve tried ketoconazole but it’s soo drying because it contains sulphates and too much for my fine strands, I try to keep oils off my scalp as they exacerbate the condition but I add a little on my ends to mitigate the drying effect of the shampoos, I keep reading of natural alternatives to remedying scalp conditions but I don’t think they are as effective especially for serborrheic dermatitis, I tried clay once but it didn’t do much, these days I want to focus on my diet and stress levels just as a way to reduce inflammation, I also co wash mid week with the as I am itch relief cowash, it’s okayish and keeps the itching at bay until my next wash day.
🙌🏾 BEST 🙌🏾 VIDEO 🙌🏾 EVER on fine hair I’ve ever seen!!! Finally somebody addressing my issues! Discovered you 2 days ago and Îm binge watching them. Any advice for somebody living in tropical weather ? Just moved from Europe to the West Indies and sea, salt and sun do good to my skin but not so good to my hair 😬😅
Great content as usual 😻😻. I am hooked on this channel. Can you please do a video on mineral oil products in Haircare? A similar one to the ones you did on silicones. Can we use hair grease and parrafin Liqudium safety?
Thank you so much for the product recommendations! I have been having amazing growth with my hair, but I’m starting to reevaluate my hair products because I’m worried I’m using too heavy of products.
Hi Fopes 👋, I love your videos 🥰 Can you please do a video on cholesterol use on hair ...does it work ....does it boost moisture or strength /softness ....is it important or as important as protein ...also what products would you suggest...thank you 🙂
My hair is just now showing the effects of me being a little overzealous detangling with the wet brush. I was so amazed at how it would glide through my hair that I started to detangle in much bigger sections and just rip though my hair. I didn't feel any resistance so I thought it was fine, man was I wrong. Now I have lots of breakage all around my head and my hair feels less full, especially around the front and nape where my hair is even finer. At one point I was also using a clarifying shampoo every week.....yeah Idk what I was thinking lol. So all that in combination with using a shampoo brush in circular motion every week on wash day was just too much for my fine hair. I've ditched the shampoo brush, only clarify every other month, and went back to detangling with a wide tooth comb because I'm afraid to go back to the wet brush :\
Thanks Sandra! I would say go for it! It can be quite heavy though, so you may want to consider under-boiling the mixture to make your gel a little less viscous so it's not too heavy on fine hair. Slippery elm and marshmallow root are a little less heavy, so maybe try those first and see if you get a good amount of hold from that
You can do knotless twists as well :) Here is a tutorial I just found, I plan to do the same with less hair ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EUFmBLx19SA.html
This is good, but has anyone researched the danger level on the hair thickening products? I wonder how hazardous are those chemicals. Also will the hair go back to normal if you stop using them.
my fine, curly blonde hair is always getting tangled and breaking at the ends and oily at the top. twisting it up and holding it with a clip seems to put too much tension on my scalp. I'm going insane.
Hii!! I wanted to get the Ordinary hair care you recommended but i’m unsure how to use it. Do i wash my hair each day after using it ? Because they requested the serum be used on clean scalp.
Sope adaralegbe I use it every night on my thinner areas and I do not wash it out. It is not greasy at all, more water like. I have used it 6 months and it really cuts down on my shedding.
hi, I saw that you mentioned in another video that silicones are not necessarily bad so which silicones do you recommend and which silicones should you stay away from?
Could you do a video on frizzy hair? My hair is 3c, normal porosity, medium density but I’ve noticed using conditioners like tresemme moisture which used to work don’t seem to cut it anymore any suggestions? I also tend to avoid proteins.
This is crazy, I actually have a video on this cued for a few weeks time and was contemplating whether to upload it earlier than scheduled. But I have some other great videos coming up in the meantime. But I'll be doing one on heat protectants in the coming weeks for sure!
