Post Covid I was suffering with Gerd and IBS type symptoms. I’ve found going gluten free, no alcohol, chocolate, onions/garlic. removed 99% of heartburn but the inconsistent IBS is driving me nuts. Foods that I’ve already trialed in and out of my diet as safe foods - then I’ll be ill 5/6 hours later normally late in the evening. Cramps followed by loose bowl movement

I have bloating, alternating mild diarrhea and constipation, discomfort in belly, early satiety, reduced appetite, prolonged fullness after meals... all these symptoms for past 2+ years after covid. Currently I'm malnutritioned, had to leave my job because of it. Colonoscopy, ultrasound and abdominal CT didn't show any abnormality except for increased vascularity around colon. Dietary changes, exercise etc. doesn't have any affect on my symptoms. Maybe I have gastroparesis since food moves very slowly and doesn't digest completely, though I'm not sure. At this point, I'm desperately looking for answers...

I'm so sorry to hear this...COVID can definitely set off a cascade of longer term problems. I think the key is to focus on the supporting your immune system. OFten there is some Mast Cell Activation that has to get managed. I would look into that, and I hope it gets better.

Really nice video thanks! Could also fish oil (omega-3) help in reducing inflammation in the gut?
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 2 года назад
Hi Alessandro, you're welcome :) Yes, for many people, fish oil can be helpful for inflammation, but for some people the oils can be aggravating for the gut, even though it may be helpful for systemic inflammation. The way to tell is to test it out and see how you respond. Thanks for watching!

Both my Roomate and I are having the same symptoms after Covid, (he gave it to me) feeling food stuck, burping a lot, we’re not throwing up, we’re not nauseous, but I can tell it’s hard to digest protein (doing pea protein) as I can feel it. Will be going back to the doctor in a few weeks for a check up but I’m off the meds and wanted to ask if I should wait or take supplements?

Sorry you haven't been feeling well...technically you should check with your doctor before starting new supplements. However, simple vitamins are often just simple helpful supports, so it's up to you.

Do you happen to know why some people get bad acid reflux or GERD after their first infection? And how to heal that?
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 6 дней назад
I'm not really sure, other than that covid seems to inflame the gut lining and this could somehow compromise normal gut motility, leading to reflux/GERD. I do have a whole video on reflux, which you can watch here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-80JudNO2V4A.html

It’s been two years since this video was made. Are there new findings on this topic?
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 6 дней назад
That is a good question. I haven't done much research on it, except I read one really interesting study that showed that L-tryptophan may be helpful for resolving some long covid symptoms. I'm not sure where I read it, but it was a credible, real study.

I wanted to know mam if i am taking digestive enzymes now can I body make it again once I stop taking it??
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 2 года назад
Yes, absolutely...taking enzymes doesn't stop your body from producing it's own enzymes...but supplementing can be necessary if your body isn't producing enough currently. Supporting stomach acid can help with your natural enzyme production. Here's my video about that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zh28pEB6eiU.html
