Moblins and Lynels and bosses, oh my! Here are the awaited results of my numerous science experiments. I tested so much more than what I talk about this video, so if you're curious about anything to do with any enemy, just ask me. I've probably got an answer for you.
Enemy list (in order):
Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos
Hinoxes and Stalnoxes
Taluses
Flux Constructs
Froxes
Moldugas
Lynels
Bosses

Something important that I'm 90% sure about with Lynels: If one has already drawn its bow, you CANNOT stun it. You can shoot it in the face and you'll hear the critical hit sound effect, but the Lynel will still fire at you. This "invincibility" also protects it from muddle buds. If the Lynel is already aiming at you when you connect with a muddle bud, it will fire the shot before sheathing its bow.
@cryinglittledevil326
@cryinglittledevil326 Год назад
If you do the back attack on a lynel and once you backflip off it you shoot the back of its head with a muddle bud it’ll stun him again immediately, you can also loop this until he’s dead(easy way to cheese lynels) Ps: you have to get a crit on the back of the head, and it’s lower than you think it should be

For Lynels... I use puffshroom arrows can help you blind it and get behind and mount it. Mind you it will attack at first so move after using puffshroom arrow if I don't hit the head with the arrow. Now, I use a pristine royal guard claymore with +10 atk modifier (rock otoroks helps with that) fused with Moldgua jaw (some use silver lynel blade but Molduga better). Royal guard weapons have a modifier that double the atk when on break status. Here is a trick... when they on break, they have 3 hits before it gets destroyed... jump attack 2 more times so it's at it last hit... it's important because the last hit does critical 2x. Now with Molduga jaw being a bone item... I equip the radient set lv 2 (evil set works as well) which unlocks Bone Proficiency which gives bone weapon and bone fusion weapons a 1.8x multiplier. I eat a lv 3 food (5 bananas) so after a puffshroom arrow if I don't stun it... I mount it and 6 hits will kill a Silver Lynel, 4 kills a white and blue lynel and 2 hits for a regular. Pristine royal guard weapons can be found in the depths at a certain location after the decayed version of that weapon is broken once. So thats 2x on break status, 2x on last hit, 1.8x multiplier for being bone fussion, 1.5x lv 3 food. Molduga fussion weapons are a lot better than Silver Lynel fussion weapons.
@FiragaJJC
@FiragaJJC Год назад
Also for gloom hands... use a 5x Lynel bows (which you can get modifier from an rock otorok by droping the lynel bow and let it suck it up). 5x Lynel bow can turn 1 single bomb arrow into 5 bomb arrows and take 2 shots to rid of them. Also 5x Lynel bows are great vs Gleoks... especially King Gleoks as I use 1 fire or ice kyess eyeball and then a regular kyess eyeball for the last head. Makes the fight a lot more faster. Invest in 5x Savage Lynel bows

@@FiragaJJC I clearly didn't test enough with the puffshrooms. I did run tests for a good 10-20 minutes, but I found that the lynels ran out of the smoke too often for puffshrooms to be practical. Going for the headshot makes sense.

From another video I watched, using your most powerful item fused to a Royal Guard claymore is the ultimate lynel buster, because when they're nearly broken, they do double damage. When you're mounted, like in BOTW, your weapon doesn't lose durability, and that means you can repeatedly use a royal guards claymore on its back.
@miso5968
@miso5968 Год назад
They do 4x the damage when they're on their last hit 39 base pristine claymore +3 hidden attack Stat + 10 attack modifier + 32 from the molduga jaw. All of this multiplied by 4, then by 1.8 with bone proficiency, 1.5x with attack up and you end up doing around 900 damage per hit

I dont know if someone pointed this out but another tip id give for phantom ganons is to be more aggressive with attacks Not in the sense of "oh if you button mash you kill him faster" but if you do attack him his gloom area that reduces your hearts will temporaneally reduce and if you attack him more it will disappear for a short period of time allowing you to get closer to him without worrying about your hearts getting gloomed

One thing to add about Queen Gibdo; the Gibdo Nests CAN be destroyed without Riju by using any type of explosive (which Riju's Lightning actually does create). The nests are programed to only take damage from explosives, so a single bomb arrow on the weak points can collapse them.

I found that with gleeoks, using an opposing element's keese eyeball does extra damage, so a fire-keese eyeball with a 3 shot bow would actually one-shot the heads of a frost gleeok, instead of needing two shots, or a frost-keese eyeball on a flame gleeok, etc. Not super helpful, but every small resource saved adds up.

in the second phase of all gleeok fights, when they fly up really high, they always provide you a way to get up to them, so don’t worry if you miss a headshot before then! - fire gleeoks shoot a big fireball to create a massive updraft - thunder gleeoks strike the ground with lightning to create thinner, but still strong updrafts - ice gleeoks (my personal favourite) rain down big icicles that you can climb up and use recall on. i’m not entirely positive, but i think the bigger ones spawn higher up (and thus will take you higher up) with the added challenge of being harder to climb. - king gleeoks are a chaotic mix of all three, and i believe that the easiest one to use is the recall on the icicles, because while in recall i don’t think that more will spawn to hit you off yours. sorry if any of that didn’t make sense, just thought it was worth pointing out.
@vorrakedryom6547
@vorrakedryom6547 Год назад
I tried several times to recall icicles against a king gleeok but you still get hit by the thunder, in particular because it's aiming at you (unless you let it recall while climbing the icicle from below, not staying on the top?). Is knockback ignored when hit by thunder when using thunder resistance elixirs or gear ? From my single attempt at this fight, what worked best during phase 2 was to dodge everything and somehow climb was to run in a circle, hop on an updraft caused by a lightning hit, then keep circling to dodge and catch more updrafts. Also, stunned heads don't attack / provide their means of being propelled upward, you might want to prioritize your attacks

For Gleeoks, as long as you're prepared before the fight with several rocket shields and a multi-shot bow, you can kill it while keeping it locked down the entire time. Come in from above it, and when you get close to them (I like to aim for landing right in front of them), bullet-time shoot all three heads. Then attack them with your melee weapon while they're stunned on the ground. As soon as they start to wake back up, use a rocket shield so that you can get into bullet-time for when they regen their horns. As soon as the horns start to regen, shoot all three heads again while in that bullet-time, then they'll fall back down, rinse, repeat, done.

I think you're right, which is why it's important to keep him out in the open if you want to abuse a ledge. If he's by a wall, like he was in my first fight, he'll lose sight of you and teleport. I chained 2-3 wall jumps + bullet time crits without him ever firing at me, and I probably could have repeated it indefinitely.

So happy to finally see someone mention sitting on the back of the Frox to get thrown into the air and enter bullet time for an easily repeatable strat. Solid video. A few other tips: Molduga - You can use Sidon’s water bubble and get knocked into the air then stun it with a bomb arrow. His bubble allows you to take no damage from 1 attack and you have lots of time to find him to get the bubble in this fight. Easiest big enemy to farm later and then cook the guts with a critter to make lots of money when sold Lynels - Everyone now knows about Bone Proficiency+Bone-fused Royal Guard’s Claymore BUT even if you don’t do that, ALWAYS climb on their backs so that you don’t use up the durability of your strongest weapon. Instead of waiting to be thrown off you can leap off them and even get fancy with an arrow to the back of the head. Keese eyeball arrow shot after you land when it runs away then turns around usually gets another stun and you just run over and mount again. Marbled Gonna in Depths - Just launch a hover stone with a rocket after you stand on it. You can sit up there and safely shoot his eyeball without taking any damage LOL Mucktorok - There are 2 auto build schematics that have water; A rainmaker (hover stone+rocket+hydrant+battery) and a sprinkler system. Try making your own by putting a stabilizer and big wheel on top of a homing cart then add a hydrant on either side of the wheel. Now you have a driving sprinkler that chases down the little bastard and you can hide behind it to avoid his range attack too!

I lean heavily into melee combat vs. lynels too. But when dismounting them (this takes more than just starting stamina) you can instantly get about 5 headshots on the way down. There are 3 parts that can be fused together (even autobuilt) to force the lynel into a roar loop. Metal chests, indestructible U blocks from the right leg depot or the lighter than air rail from the right leg depot. Once you've stuck any two of these items together. Simply ultra hand them towards the lynels face and it will begin to roar in order to break them apart. But since these items cannot break. Weapon tips for Lynels: -If you dont care about durability, royal weapons are the way to go. Your best opportunity to attack comes during flurry rushes, which will give these weapons 2x total damage. Thats a better buff than the Gerudo 2x fuse damage and they'll last longer. -Royal Guard weapons do 2x damage when they're about to brake, so you can use them on the back of a stunned Lynel for massive damage since that doesn't break weapons. If they're on the last hit, it stacks with the general last hit bonus for 4x damage! Just make sure to switch to a different weapon when you're off its back.
@Sakabatou77

On a Lynel, I like using an Ancient Claymore that's about to break while I'm on its back. Your weapon does no damage to itself while on the back of a Lynel, and your weapon is stronger as it's about to break. And plus you get critical hits. I also wear the Barbarian armor with attack up and my weapon is fused with a silver Lynel horn. Others fused a Molduga bone, wore the Radiant armor and eating attack up food. As for the Gleeok, I use my 5 shot multi-bow in bullet-time until I hit the ground. Then I pull out my strongest two-handed weapon and spin attack it's head(s) for critical hits. If I don't kill it, I either let it soar upwards and I finish it with Keese eyeballs, or I lift myself upwards somehow and finish it in bullet-time.

Yunobo has virtually no cooldown when on a steering stick vehicle. Mineru should be called MINERu with all the mining use she has. Simon's shield can be used to shield a Molduga's bite attack and get bullet time for bomb arrows. Tulin can be used to blow loads of bomb flowers as items towards enemy camps. Riju can be used to look flashy. And to deal massive damage if you have patience. Just splash a Splash Fruit, and let havoc commence with your shot. Make sure to aim at floor in the middle of enemies, not just at one specifically.

19:23 It's hard to destroy Queen Gibdo without taking down the respawning pilars of gibdos. I know you have look for Riju to help make ur yellow circle but it's worth taking the pillars out other wise you'll be looking to take down the queen and will be using up all ur arrows shooting arrows at enemies and trying to find the queen. The secret... DAZZLEFRUIT... . Yes dazzlefruit paralyzes the gibdos for a while allowing you to easily focus better on the pillas. Taking down the gibdo pillars helps make the 2nd last of the fight easier and as long as u have like 35 arrows entering the fight you can do this beat this boss.

not sure if anyone has said this yet or not but in the Queen Gibdo fights in the depths you can break the gibdo spawners without Riju's help if you hit the towering mushroom spawners with a bomb arrow when the holes appear to drop more gibdo's. this trick only works when then holes are open.

Anyone mentioned the bonus damage Master Sword inflicts on Gloom enemies? Anything covered in Gloom, including Gloom Spawn and Phantom Ganon, seems to take an extra licking from the glowing blade. Right after defeating the Hands, you can actually attack Ganon before he's fully spawned in. If you beefed up the Master Sword enough, with a proper Atk buff you can get rid of him before he even gets to attack. Not even remotely menacing anymore

I still have to fight the fire ice and the Faron electric gleeoks. If you approach a cave around dusk, before night fall, a swarm of keese fly out. If you shoot an aerocuda in the sky level of the world it will just give you the drops if it doesn’t hit anything before it goes poof. With puffshrooms vs Lyonels: I’ve found if I hide myself and then dodge the incoming attack while staying within the cloud the Lyonel will lose track of me. here is a long list of extra tips when it comes to combat. savage lynel bows are your friend. i suggest once u start consistently killing lynels (tips on how to do so later on) u should start saving the bows. you should go for at least 3-5 in ur inventory at all times. then, go to death mountain and look for some rock octoroks (pretty easy to find urself but just look up a vid if u have some issues), save infront of them, drop ur bow, wait for the octorok to spit the bow back out, and check to see if the bow has the "5 shot" property. if it does, kill the octorok and continue, if it doesnt, reload that save. this will do two things: 1. repair ur bow incase it was about to break, meaning u dont need to fight more lynels if u dont want to, and 2. give u the best bow in the game dps wise. the thing about bows in this game is that u can honestly win most fights with them alone as long as u can consistently use bullet time and have strong fuses like bombs, gibdo bones, and lynel horns. a lot of the tips leo brought up in the video work really well, but if u wanna be as efficient/boring as possible, a few 5 shot bow shots is all you will ever need for all of the basic mobs, most of the minibosses, and a few of the bosses. (spoiler for story past the 4 regional phenomena) the easiest way to consistently get bullet time is with mineru. just hop on her back, jump off of it and pull out your bow. you wont need this a lot of the time as there will be uneven terrain everywhere, but its still good for consistent bullet time. if ur having trouble finding bombs, they are in practically every cave in the game and also are pretty common in the depths. if u are okay with it, you can also dupe them. there are tons of ways to do so, but the best for u is up to personal preference and what version of the game ur running. for gibdo bones, if u already completed the regional phenomena for gerudo then its going to be pretty difficult to consistently find them, but they are also in a lot of caves in gerudo and u can also dupe them. if u want to make lynel farming even more effiecient, theres a long process hard to explain with a comment, so simply just go to austin john's video about lynel farming and do what he says (make sure to fuse the molduga jaw to the claymore instead of a lynel saber). combining that video with my mineru tech allows for pretty consistent lynel farming. if u dont want to do that though, u can simply climb up really high, glide down to the lynel, and spam 5 shot lynel bows with molduga jaws, gibdo bones, or silver lynel saber horns until it eventually dies. if u want to do as much damage as possible, get either the evil spirit or radiant armor. the evil spirit armor is faster to get compared to getting the radiant armor and having to level it up to level 2, but the radiant armor provides better defense. then, make sure to fuse ur strongest weapons with molduga jaws (tips on how to kill them later). then, u need to make sure u have attack 3 food on hand, and now u will be doing tons of damage. one of the easier ways to get attack 3 food is to just cook 5 mighty bananas (theres a good amount in the faron region, specifically near the dondons), and using 4 mighty bananas and a dragon horn will make it last 30 minutes (go to austin johns video about how to farm dragons). in order to kill moldugas effectively, its quite simple with my mineru tech. get on mineru and just start running away from the molduga (make sure its already chasing u). then, as soon as it leaps out of the sand it should be far away enough that it doesnt hit u. get off of mineru immediately and start spamming bow shots at its chest. if u have the savage lynel bow and barbarian armor with some bomb arrows, you can one shot it within one bullet time. like i said eariler, 5 shot lynel bows are the easiest way to kill most enemies the majority of the time. more examples of this are the gloom spawn/hands and phantom ganon. the thing about nearly every gleeok is that they are near some form of elevation that allows you to drop down and get free bullet time. obviously u can do so with my mineru method, but if they start firing beams at u before u can get off it can be a little challenging. minus that, equip the radiant or evil spirit armor, take out a weapon with a molduga jaw attached (a pristine gerudo scimitar, pristine gerudo claymore, or the scimitar of the seven are best), and start wailing on it. if u couldnt kill it before it gets back up and starts to fly (will always happen with king gleeoks), simply run out of the range for its gust attack, get back on mineru, and repeat (might need keese eyeballs if its a little too high up). for colgera, fly above it and simply fly into it's circular weak spots, its a lot faster than trying to shoot them with arrows. this works best with the glide suit armor. mucktoroks are pretty easy to kill if u just time mineru's bullet time properly. sure, it moves around pretty fast in its second phase once its out of the mud shark, but it slows down significantly in bullet time, so use a few splash fruit arrows and ur good. the queen gibdo is honestly not much of a challenge if u bullet time into a bomb arrow and then a couple gibdo bone/molduga jaw/silver lynel saber horn right into its face. if u dont want to only use arrows, u can simply walk up behind it once u get rid of its outer layer and perform a charge attack with a 2 handed weapon until it gets stunned. a pretty situational weapon that deals tons of damage is the lightscale trident, the champion weapon of the zora. when u are wet, its damage will double, and since it is a spear it will do tons of damage when flurry rushing (or by using its charge attack). attach a molduga jaw to it and pull out a hydrant to stay wet (or just hope its raining) and u can reek havoc. one flurry rush with this weapon, radiant armor, a hydrant, and attack 3 food is enough to kill ganon's first phase out right.

Good thing is when you fight Hinox, shoot in head or throw dazzle, land the hits, then when he standup, run between his legs for lenght of bow shot, he will get confused for 2 seconds, then turn around and search for you. for queen gibdo, you can 100% destroy the nests without riju, in fact i prefer that fight with riju dismissed and i destroy the nest immediately every time. the nests are only vulnerable to elemental damage on the purple scrotum thing, only once they start spawning gibdo. simply shoot it with 1-3 bomb arrows to take out the nest once it's activated also for the queen gibdo fight, a frost gleeok horn fused to a gerudo spear, it'll one-shot any gibdo, it can reach the flying ones, and it can pierce the queen's armor. also, fun fact: gleeok horns are the botw universe's very first elemental weapon that doesn't have a cooldown! if you put a frost gleeok horn on a claymore and you spin it around, the freezy cloud will never stop. so that's also part of what makes it so good against gibdo, you can just one-shot them with 0 cooldown, it is always "one hit, one kill" i tried with a farosh reaper and an electric gleeok reaper, but neither one was strong enough, for some reason frost does much more damage to gibdo than electric does

Construct soldiers and the like? Probably puffshrooms and elemental shields. Puffshrooms will allow you to segment the fight into 1-on-1s, and elemental shields (topaz or sapphire fused to your shield) should buy you the most time after blocking an attack. One of my favourite weapons was always an ice boomerang. I don't remember using it versus constructs, but you can try a large boomerang with an ice keese wing or whatever you like. Wings are fun since they'll make boomerangs soar even further. Let me know if you still need help! I haven't played the game in months, but it's fun to brainstorm and to think back to my time spent playing.

I'll only use pristine eightfold blades from the depths, they are noticeably better. For Lynels, I got a pristine Royal Guard's Claymore from the depths. Used a rock octorok until I got the damage upgrade stat. Attached a silver lynel saber horn. Hit an enemy with it until it was about to break. And now I use it exclusively on Lynel backs, it absolutely shreds them (and that can't break it). The armored Lynels in the depths are actually easier...because they are automatically staggered when you break their armor, so it's free hits worth more than half of their health at least. Otherwise, I just perfect parry or perfect dodge every move they do. It's rare that a Lynel can actually hit me.

@@TheLegendofLeo Haha yeah, they will probably only add master mode though. I never liked master mode because it just felt like fake difficulty. Make enemies damage sponges and regenerate health. It doesn't actually change anything else.

@@StormsparkPegasus I feel the same way. The floating "islands" with the few enemies on them were cool, and it was nice that they had treasure chest rewards, but the enemy changes felt uninspired. (And please don't make us restart the game if there's Master Mode...)

@@TheLegendofLeo Yeah...I don't mind legitimate challenge, I just don't like fake difficulty. Especially when the "difficulty" is just damage sponge enemies. Having to go through 3 weapons to kill a bokoblin that still does the exact same things isn't really fun.

Btw, the weather attack buffs are not really similar to attack up. All they do is send out some kind of wave of that element after a combo or charge attack is finished. So it’s useless against enemies/bosses that don’t take elemental damage.
@TheLegendofLeo
@TheLegendofLeo Год назад
If you have any sources for this, I'd love to see them. I don't disbelieve you, but everything that I've looked at states that damage is increased in those particular weather conditions. I really need to test this at some point.
@Subatomicfish
@Subatomicfish Год назад
@@TheLegendofLeo I tested it myself against the Flux Construct III in the Thunderhead Isles. With the storm attack gear the damage output is exactly the same as no attack buff, but it does produce a wave of electricity with a combo finisher or charge attack (two different kinds of waves btw, charge attack is more exciting looking and reminiscent of Urbosa’s Fury). However, Flux Constructs don’t take elemental damage so there wasn’t even any added damage from the extra shock waves.
@Subatomicfish
@Subatomicfish Год назад
@@TheLegendofLeo also, if you look closely, the buff is not called “hot weather attack up”, just “hot weather attack”, implying it just adds the fire/other elemental attack.

@@TheLegendofLeo From what I've seen, the usual wikis have not been getting updated. They probably will at some point, but it seems like not many people have bothered. There are some pretty comprehensive data sheets and other things put together by speedrunning and engineering communities, however. r/HyruleEngineering is probably one of the most knowledgeable communities about the game in general, but is specifically geared towards building contraptions.
