Tips for Tween Sleep!

My mom always forced an early bedtime, even as a teenager. I was never allowed to stay past 9:00 PM. So, this shift because of hormones never applied to me personally. Now, that I'm in University it was a big jump from getting 9-10 hours of sleep to 4-5 hours because I have to study, and work. I literally sleep around midnight and wake up around 4am on weekdays and 3 am on weekends to get everything done. It's exhausting, and never have I ever looked to the end of the term more anxiously than now where I can finally average around 8 hours of sleep again.

I wish I had brooks room and that my parents cared that much about my sleep. But what would make me most happy is that your kids appreciate their parents love & care and if they have their own kids when they grow up, they'll love & care for them as much as you guys did :)

This video kinda makes me chuckle because my mom was always just like, "Your body knows what you need to do." And this video is basically just telling us that you need to control it because it doesn't know what to do. Y'know, 9-10 hours of sleep, all different matrices for different positions, blinds open on weekdays for natural light, only sleep less than 2 hours on weekends, stuff like that.

I learned some stuff for me to sleep better and I’m 45, thanks for all your work and doing the research so we don’t have to. Mattress Firm really is a great place to go my dad got his bed from them and he loves it.

I am 12 and still sleeping with White noise been doing it sense 2011 it helps me sleep. i have adhd and the noise helps me go to sleep faster

Waking up early to do things in the morning sucks. You mess up your motning routine, which is vital to make it to school on time. And most kids are night owls at this age and can't think nearly as well in the morning. If your kid has insomnia, then a fixed bedtime is important. And consistency is good as a general rule. But it seems to me that the occasional late night shouldn't be a problem for most, as long as there is a good reason. Not that honework should ever take that long, or that not finishing a huge assignement is the worst thing ever at that age. You don't want to tell your kid rhis, but grades dont matter a lot in the pre-teen years as long as they are learning.

One of my 13 year olds has started to stay up later. It's been making me nuts that he keeps insisting that he's not tired yet and resisted bedtime as much as he can.
