Great video, Patrick. I’m going into my first 70.3 next week. I feel well conditioned physically for the race, but still working on a transition plan. What should I wear under my wetsuit?, and how to decide if I should make a complete change of clothes from bike to run. I have a company branded branded one piece uniform with a light bike saddle padding.
Hey johnathan! If you feel more comfortable doing the full change, you could; personally I feel mega comfy in the tri kit so I wouldn’t bother. I tested out running in the tri kit in training that must be said. If you care about gaining those extra couple of minutes, don’t change, otherwise it could be an option. Under you wetsuit : hr strap and tri suit. Some people already put their number on under the wetsuit, but I think it’s just an extra complication in case it rips etc. Have a great race!
Hi Patrick, great and very useful video! I am planning my first 70.3 IM in few months, question regarding the bike section: are we allowed to have our Garmin cycling computer mounted during the race? As I am used to have with me on every single ride and tells me a lot while cycling. If not, can we only rely on a smart watch during the race? Thanks
Hey bro! Yes I am affiliated with PPR team in Turin; just search out a team close to you and see what they offer, you can even just get the license often times. Otherwise for Italian races you can just get a agonistic medical certificate and bring it with you the venue, and get a day license for Ironman events
