The mongol enemies say really funny things. I always hear "Dasha, Dasha!" from archers and them throwing kunai. The other most common thing they say is "Dasha, Dasha, Horouken!". When doing standoffs, their feint yells and screams had my dying! 😂
Just started playing this game. As a martial artist on the challenges I waited for commitment from the opposition. The feet thing is super helpful though
Bamboo strikes are the best ! Idk why but I love them with the timer on, when you finally get it it's so satisfying and gives a feeling of accomplishment
I agree! I 100% the game and glad I didn't know about that tip. I think I have to do New Game+ in black and white, in Japanese, with English subtitles. This game is AMAZING!!!
I think I once read somewhere that samurai were taught to look at the feet of their opponents, because that would most likely be the first thing to move before a strike or change of stance.
@@GamingWithAbyss Thanks for responding and yeah they must have. The attention to detail is incredible! Especially they way Jin gets blood off of his blade before sheathing it, again something else samurai were taught to do and also how they shuffle their feet for a stronger stance at the beginning of a dual I've only been playing GoT since Christmas day and it still gives me goosebumps XD After 30+ years of gaming, Ghost of Tsushima is the best game ever IMO. Masterpiece!!!
Want to silently eliminate your enemies in tall grasses but don't have wind chimes? Just keep out of sight from the enemies whilst crouching and swipe left on the touchpad to play the flute (Cancel animation by crouching down again, since playing the flute makes you stand up) The enemies will move to your location and you can easily eliminate them quietly, hope this helps
Great tips. FYI, you don’t have to double tap circle for the ‘infinite stamina’ a single press when Jin starts to slow down will make him dash and will reset it as well.
5:55 another really quick and easy way to get resolve back is to temporarily use the charm of perfect landing, where on performing a safe landing (just rolling at the bottom or whatever) it gives you two resolve back so just repeat a couple of times and you'll be back on full resolve very quickly (and can be done basically anywhere if it has a slight raise in terrain).
As for the stamina, you can simply tap circle to skid instead of tapping it twice to roll. This will still allow you to sprint without getting tired. Using the traveler’s attire will vibrate your controller if within artefact range, a visual cue will be present too. There will be a firefly that will guide you to where the artefact is located.
For those who still want a challenge with bamboo strikes: just practice the motions without hitting the buttons a few times. It's like remembering a combination to a lock. Once you have it memorized, it's just a matter of it being a quick time event.
Honestly the feet tactic is very good, I ended up doing that on my own cause I felt like I heard it somewhere before about watching your enemies footing
I turned on an option that shows a bow and arrow symbol on the screen for the archers. So I know when they are around. It also shows up while they scream and blinks really quick, one time when they shoot. Al there is an option to make the camera move faster. Making it easier to deal with mobs-o-mongols, Mongol mobs, whichever you prefer calling them. Nice tips and tricks vid. Helps out a lot. 😁🔥👍
@@GamingWithAbyss my first gameplay i just used the saki clan armour but the other playthroughs i would swap between the wander, ghost and saki. I find they're the best
You have absolutely one of the best explanation videos out thus far. You even put it in the description. 90% of people don't even show you where to get items in games they avoid the map and just start at where you get it which makes me think people are short bus special or on some type of drug or even lack basic common sense.
The stamina trick has a better one where instead of rolling, if you see him becoming tired since his head dips, just press circle once to dash and it'll reset it fully. Saves a lot of time for me but I can also see how the roll is good as well as it can cover more distance
Going against a spearman in a standoff (specifically a bandit spearman, since they ready their spears basically already in your gut) is the toughest one in a standoff, since your timing has to be even more perfect in order to not fail
Yup, once I got used to standoffs, the only times I fail is against those guys (not that I always fail against spearmen, but when I do it's because of them). You have a much smaller window to react.
The bamboo trick of changing accessibility is like changing difficulty in the setting to easy. Will make the challenge easy but not rewarding. Not a samiurai path of honor, uncle shimura won't be happy about this manner.
1) when doing a standoff if you're not wearing the Sakai armor (gives more strikes when fully upgraded) simply bring up menu before press (triangle, y , etc) the standoff button & change armor. 2) if you completed a camp or territory & aren't wearing the traveler's attire (boost for clearing more fog on map) bring up menu & quickly change from the map & equip the traveler's attire & go back to map.
Great tips, thank you very much for this! For a successful Standoff I also stare at the space in-between my character and the 1st enemy to not get duped into releasing the strike too early. Once I see the enemy moving into that empty space between us, I release the sword strike.
Those are so OP that in most duels I avoided using them, I felt it made duels way too boring, I really like the tactics and reflexes implied in duels without using your resolve, I used it as last resource when I found any duel hard to win.
Great video as always Abyss, just a heads-up though, as far as the “infinite stamina”, you actually don’t need to double tap dodge to roll to “reset” the stamina, just tap dodge once, resets it, and continue on. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much. I just got the game, it's absolutely stunning. I've saved your video so I can watch it several times to assist in my gameplay. Again, many thanks!
Thx. I’ve owned this game for years and couldn’t get into it but running out of decent games I jumped on and stuck with it for couple hours now it’s one of those games where I turn it on and 3 hours will just zip by…It’s actually delightfully gory too lol… love it tho
Ty! Great tips from everyone. So some charms I like are the: Charm of Silence (reduces enemy detection speed by 15% and increases RESOLVE gains by a massive smount.
For new game + mode i think best charms are the ones that they double the resources like supplies, wax wood …etc and the other that gives u more supplies from the bodies after killing enemies… cause you r already strong for any combat so focous on materials to upgrade more also to buy more skins if u interested collecting all for legend and main story
There is another tip I can get you. You can use your ghost stance on duels and this helped me almost every time there is a duel, especially the Khan. And I would recommend using the charm of ghostly fury because it will only deduct 1 ghost kill streak instead of resetting it and it also gives another additional kill while in ghost stance.
Starting this game after beating Jedi survivor makes this game cake lol I’ve just been upgrading what I’m allowed to parry because it’s so much easier to parry in this game than Jedi survivor. Super fun after a few hours of gameplay though!
I just bought this game and am waiting for it to finish downloading. Figured I’d look up some tips while I’m waiting. Great video Abyss. I know these tips will come in handy. I always love me some health regen!!
Just got in the game so decided to check this out. Since I have a background of 6 years in aikido, my sensei used to say that footing and posture is what matters the most in kendo. Naturally that was the main thing to watch for in this game to me. You can't strike a sword with intent when not moving your feet!
I just started the game yesterday finally and I found someone in a survivor camp, I think, almost immediately after I could start exploring who gave me the tale of the heavenly strike. I stopped at a handful of places in the area first, including the 3 main story tales close by, on my way over and then acquired the heavenly strike. Now I’m even more happy that I got it so early.
another tip: the sakai armor fully upgraded will allow you two additional stanoffs which will equal to 5 strikes per standoffs. You will be asked to go back to your childhood home to retrieve it in chapter 2
Ghost Of Tsushima All good tips, came here after beating “Act I”: 1 - I won’t use because I really like the Bambu Strike and to add, instead of writing the sequence, take a picture of the sequence with you cellphone, 2 - This is very very nice, never thought of that, 3 - You don’t need to roll, just press circle once to do that little dodge, 4 - I have both and they are my favorite when in combat, but outside of combat i use one that one gives you more items when you pick up items to faster upgrade my gear, 5 - Nice tip too, i use it, 6 - Got “The Dance Of Wrath” yesterday randomly (i was very lucky) and the “The Heavenly Strike” pretty early in the 1st part. Guess that’s what happens when the game is godly and you wanna do everything before hitting main-missions, 7 - About the Foxes and Birds, as i said in the 6th point, i like to unlock everything before moving to the next main-mission, that includes the map 😅 To add, if you wanna find all collectibles easier, use the traveller armor and upgrade it to the max, when you 60m from a collectibles, the controller with vibrate and a firefly will guide you there. Amazing video, thanks!
I just bought this game and struggled way too much with the stand off. It took one mess up to get it right with watching the feet and haven't had problems. Thanks for the tips.
I watch their feet as well for standoffs, but the bamboo strike hack is awesome. I screw those up so often and it takes me multiple tries to get it right.
Yo dude YOU ROCK!!! I just started playing this game 2 days ago. Haven’t been on any quest yet just exploring and your tips are just what I needed. Thanks a bunch
Another trick with gaining resolve is by equipping the Charm of Perfect Landing which you can get from Iki Island. By performing a Perfect Landing you recover 2 resolve in return. Easily fills up all your resolve bars.
I recommend the charm for supply boost. You can get this at the Arrow Peak Shrine. This will help you for quicker upgrading weapons and the charm that will regenerate health when killing enemies. You don't need to double press circle for unlimited stamina. Pressing once to do the dodge move is better and won't interrupt Jin from running.
The travelers attire which they give the player early in the game Doesn't matter if it's fully upgraded or basic It's really helpful if you want to uncover most of the map really quick. All you need to do is free roam. Also you can skip all of this if you just clear all mongol captured areas Edit:Imagine an update where they fake coming forward with an attack and before getting slashed by your player they take a step back and slash counter
I watched this video before I ever played the game, lots of good advice, the best for me was the stand-off, by watching their feet I haven’t lost a single standoff
Actually useful advice, sweet! Even though I know most of it, nice to see someone NOT pointing out the obvious. Plus, it's short, simple and to the point.
There's also the perfect landing charm. If you enable it and climb up a high building or rocks and leap off but hit circle near the ground after you enable the landing technique to roll land you get resolve added back I use it all the time now especially before boss battles.
I bought this game last year when I had to quarantine with Corona. I talked the game up for this entire year and my buddies finally broke down and bought it, they have not stopped thanking me for nagging them to buy the game since.
Nice vid! I just started my journey a week ago. I got my ps5 a week and half ago, and this game looks sooo good in 4K 60fps!!! I got this game a few months ago and planned on starting it on my PS4. Glad I waited though. This is the way to play on ps5!
Well this is rare , excualy a great tips video that isnt the same as all the others. Great job. Gonna look if you still active with new games, then i sub to it. Played this game when it came out, but wanna replay it , so i was looking to refresh my memory
You can roll to stop fire You can trade materials for supplies with the trapper You will eventually run out of silk even on the game+ so if you still early on the game DO NOT do the mission "whispers in the wood" because later on there is a method to farm silk with it You can turn on option to save charm and style on specific armour to fast switch them in the gameplay menu
I just started this and going to get the Heavenly Strike because one of the animations is literally Zoros One Sword Style: Lion Song Dance from One Piece and that’s so hype to me.
Red Dead 2 was my favorite game till I put down the Xbox and bought a ps5 and decided to give this game a try. That spring sale PlayStation has is nice.
So glad for this! I only just started playing and thought there would be some bits that I’d not figure out first off the bat. Thought the foxes were enemies lol…and didn’t realise about yellow birds. But I’m back on it!
Awesome bro, just started the game!!! And I'm glad I stumbled into your video! Definitely subscribing and thanks for the valuable info!! I LOVE the game so far!
Thanks for the tips man. Just started this game and I’m so impressed with its art style ( so stylish ) and fluidity of the game play. Looking forward to this one. Thanks again 💪🏼
Making bamboo be completed easier makes it less rewarding and less fun to complete,I prefer a challenge but if someone is really finding it impossible to complete it's a good tip
I just started playing this game (I know I'm late to the party) and I am really enjoying it. With my first play-through I decided to play on Hard. Well actually I was playing on Lethal and thought "Naaaaa. I'll get good at the game first and then I'll give myself a challenge." Great game and story so far. This is a good tip video as well. Funny enough I already do the tip about watching the enemies feet during a standoff.
Great video. The first two tips definitely helped me out. I just got to the last portion of the game and only now found the options on the left side of the option menu that you can't see unless you hit left on the d-pad or stick to change the types of things that you can search for on the map. LOL.
Thanks! Progressing in the game, there is much emphasis on the "perfect parries" but now there are so many unbreakable attacks from enemies so I either get jacked up or have to dodge while initially trying to get that move right. Sometimes the standoff's don't work right, like it won't let you hold down triangle and after waiting for their move, then it says "hold triangle", but it's too late; so some bug that needs to get fixed. Like your latest wallpaper! Anything with Jill & Aloy works well with me!
