Just finished getting a bonded title for a jon boat in Texas. Cost me a hundred for the boat and a hundred for the motor. Haven't tackled the trailer yet but it is next. 80% of the aluminum boats I've looked at did not have titles.

I have a 1232 that I use for a little solo duck hunting boat. I’m 6’ 240lbs and it can be a little sketchy but it works just fine for me. I have a 14ft gamefisher tri hull that I use for most of my fishing and crabbing
Another West TN guy here, and I stumbled onto your channel after I bought my old 1432. I got it cheap, but I've done a bit of brazing. After getting a trailer and a 40lb trolling motor and battery, I've only dropped under $400 into the whole thing.
I’ve got a Lowe 1752 mod v Jon boat and I’m currently in the process of replacing the transom and it’s got the 2 square boxes in the back taking it apart wasnt to much of a nightmare but finding some wood or plywood to take up the space it goes in is the issue I think me and a buddy have got It figured out going to go over there and start putting it back together tomorrow mine is also riveted so that’s more of a pain in the butt having to put new rivets in it
Just got a little jon boat sundolfin 12 here in Ireland last year and there are not many here at all i love it and would love that upgrade in the future thanks for the help on the video i will look forward the see the next jon boats you build 🎣✌️
So, I am not familiar with jon boats. I have been canoeing and kayaking for over 30 years and I have a number of really expensive canoes and kayaks that I have bought used and for a fraction of the new price. I have been looking for a jon boat for the last couple of years. I am really interested in a long tail motor on a 14 foot jon boat but I am open to a 9.9 too. I haven't pulled the trigger on any boat I have looked at because I really know very little especially on my purchase budget. I am in Western North Carolina so searching FB Market I get results from NC TN SC VA GA and AL. Each of these states have different regulations of title for the boat and trailer and I don't want to get caught up in a boat motor or trailer title issue here in NC. I am prepared to spend around 13-15 hundred on the initial purchase but I am certainly in a position that if I spend that I need to be able to float that boat right away and work on it as I go. I can handle simple repairs but any larger issues or modifications would stop me in my tracks.
Hey man LOVE your videos. I have a quick question. If i have a 6 port fuse block can I run my lights/bilge pump AND my trolling motor to the same fuse block? I know I need to use thicker wire for the trolling motor.
I just bought my first jon boat its got a floor and front and back deck no seats and made of aluminum and the stuff you use all the time got trolling motor and mud motor with a garmin fish finder what is sum tips you could give me on what to di for lights and more?
It really depends on your state. In Tennessee, all you need is a Bill of sale from the previous owner. Check with your local DMV first though, some states make titles mandatory.
People can call things what they want, sure. But, that doesn't mean I'm going to understand whatever they're talking about. If they say jon boat, but point at anything other than a square, flat bottomed boatl... Okay, now I get it. And I'll quietly disagree with them. 😊
