You know what - I'm gonna smash book my anxiety. So every time I beat it I'm gonna use things from that day (travelling makes my anxiety act up - so I'd save train tickets etc) !!! I know this is from 2014 but still - thank you!
You gave me some great idea's and tips! Thanks so much! I love smash booking and looking at what others have done. You're right about just collecting things and putting them in one place. I will have something and think to myself "This needs to go in my smash Book" and then it'll just disappear. I have to start putting them all in one spot like you have! I have the perfect box to keep all of my stuff in too...I'm going to do that right now! LOL! :)
I know this is old - but I love your videos! I collect stuff like this all the time (especially vintage magazine ads) and I never know what to do with it. Your videos give me lots of ideas. I'm glad to see that someone else collects random things as well. tfs. :)

(Sorry for the life story but am so excited to finally get it) I am totally handicapped when it comes to any sort of creative ability like planning, scrapbooking (which I tired but didn't enjoy), card making and even something as simple as stamping, but I enjoy doing them so much.This video of yours is really useful as I have wanted to smash book for awhile, I even have two books ready to go, but I didn't know where or how to start. I have a chronic illness which means I don't go out much at all to collect "memory" things, or have many things to journal about, and I also live in a very small country town in Far North Queensland Australia, and my nearest "city" is Cairns. So I though I didn't have anything to smash book with or about , but you showed me that basically I can use the (pardon the language) crap that I tend to keep, and I thought I was the only one who liked to keep pretty clothes tags, wrapping paper, wrapping ribbons and package bags ect. So again thank you for this video and the easy and informative manner you use to show us less talented or in my case no talent girls how to do this fun thing.

the "e" in hema is actually pronounced like an "a" as in a b c d e.... so kind of like heyma, because it's a Dutch store and we pronounce the "e" like you pronounce an "a". loved you video btw! thanks :)

I've just bought my first couple of Smash books and am having some real anxiety about starting, doing something 'wrong' and then somehow ruining the books. Thank you so much for this and your other videos. It's really helpful and inspiring to see your pages and creative processes! Also, this is a long shot, you don't happen to remember where you got the amazing beetle washi tape do you?
+LillianFunnyFace I was like that to start with, it's definitely daunting! But Smash Book's are much more 'laid back' compared to other styles of scrapbooking!! If it's the tape I think it is, then it'll be from Paperchase, I think that's the only beetle tape I own haha... It would be an old design though so I don't think they'll still have it available unfortunately >.< XX
A tip I found is to just start from the middle. Don't start at the first page if you're stressed. Just start somewhere in the middle to break in the book
I've always wanted to start a Smash Book, but I have never been able to find one in the shops (I live in Australia) and my mum said I'm not allowed to buy one from eBay. So basically I have just gotten a sketchbook and I'm using that :) I love your videos so much, I actually watch them while I Smash

Thats the fun part you can use ANYTHING Bought something that has a cute packaging? Cut out your fave part of it amd put it in! Sticky notes? Bam Bam Go to walmart and those lil paint sample cards BAM BAM Stickers you hoard and dont know what to use it for? There yuh go Absolutely ANYTHING you like can go in Not to mention cute books at good will are like ten cents and thats a whole goldmine of things to cut and paste! Not to mention if you're an artist or have a printer! You can also use any journal to do this with!

Great video, I'm going to start smashbooking soon, and I have one of those Smashbooks really, but my problem is that I collect all the stuff to put in it but I'm afraid to forget something in the middle, 'cause I'm going to do it in chronological order, So I've started to look for an album with rings on it so that I can put things in the middle of pages in case I forget something, it was a big decision but between the Lifebök and Simple Stories Sn@p I chose Lifebök (Daily rose) because of the beautiful patterned pages (more than SS Sn@p, although it has fewer acessories to go with it) :) Big kiss from Portugal*
Maria João Oliveira I think If I was documenting my life in a smashbook style I'd probably do the same! There's the La De Dah brand which is pretty much exactly the same as a smashbook, it'd slightly smaller but you can add and remove pages :) XX
MyGreenCow Did not knew about that brand, thanks :) The only thing is that you can only add pages from the brand, with those specific holes/perfuration and sometimes I want to add flyers or something that I have to punch some holes in it and put them in rings, so I need a binder with rings on it for that purpose.. You also also Smash binders, but I like the Lifebök or Sn@p Binders better, they have beautiful pages, 2 or 3 rings, and great acessories (pocket pages and all that). TY!
My problem is having too much ephemera.. I am going to have to pitch most of it because I'm moving. I know someone could use it but not sure how to share it with people. Unfortunately I can't afford to ship it out. So if I ever do smashbook I get overwhelmed because of how much stuff I have. lol
jlt1984 Sometime I will keep a like whole sheet of wrapping paper someone gave me, but only use a small bit of it, and bin the rest. I pick and choose, because new stuff is always going to come along, I don't feel so bad binning stuff hehe :)

Smash Book seems like another name for scrapbook. it seems pretty much the same thing to me. A place to keep memories, and get them out of shoe boxes. lol.
+CarlyUTube It is, Smashbooking is another style of scrapbooking :) It just focuses mainly on little mementos you collect, rather that purely photos and journaling! X
I did come across one at the thrift store it was $1.50 i never heard of it. But i liked the book i looked it up and came across your page and i said i have one of those..LOL I like it.

trés Chic Thank you! :) My opinion on a homemade Smash Book is go for it! I've seen many people do it and I think it's great. The only reason I don't do it is I don't really have the time to make my own right now. One day I hope to try it though! :) X
I do indeed!! Not as much as I did, but I use them in a similar way to junk journalers. As I have my creative journals for my photos and important mementos! 😊
