Tips & Techniques: Reverse Roll on rear car window (3rd break light) 

HI Joe. There would be no problem using this technique without the 3rd brake light being there. Doing it this way just means you don’t have to manhandle a whole flat sheet while you are trying to manoeuvre the bottom middle past the brake light. This method takes a few more minutes of course versus just going straight to installation of the flat sheet of film after heat shrinking but if you like the advantage of having a much smaller rolled up piece of film to manhandle onto the back window then this method is very useful. As a first time tinter I think I'm going to try the roll first. If I don't succeed I'll have to Frankenstein it. Thanks so much for the reply

Joe, Actually an easier way if no brake light would be to roll all the way from 1 side to the other. The way in that video is a little trickier because he wants to slide behind the light but if no light or if you cut around the light first then just roll from 1 side across.
