Tips: 1. If you’re behind, read your study guide and write a summary. Take note of pages of where something is. (Useful for open book exams). 2. Write summaries. 3. Use previous papers by doing one question from all the papers to get an idea of what each question is about. E.g. Question 1 (2015), (2016) and (2017) and then the next ones etc. 4. Don’t go with what people say about the course. Just do your thing and apply yourself to the best of your ability.

Thank you for the many valuable tips. I am a mature UNISA alumnus who obtained my BA in 2013 and my HonsBA Translation Studies in 2020. Hopefully I will return to do my masters in 2023. I missed the deadline for applications... The older I get, the more I realise that young people approach learning incorrectly. Forget about perfection. Learning is an exploration. Studying is also a way of getting to know yourself, of coming face to face with one's strengths and weaknesses. As Rosey says, you brain can only soak up so much. I also agree with the fact that one will excel in some branches of a given field, while being mediocre in others. Anyway, this essay must end now.
