I researched a lot of different ideas. I did borrow their music, I figured somebody would have post like a year ago on that. But I added to the design, and changed it to meet my needs. Its not stealing. Even if the product has a patented your still allowed to made one for yourself. You need to get a clue, its America. Mine is different enough that I could patented myself if I wanted too. But why? FWIW You have to have one hell of a strong bumper to run on of these.

looks like the winch handle could use a flip up handle to assist with the lifting and lowering. Otherwise, that's pretty awesome!

just some fine tuning here is needed.handle would be a big difference. gearing change could be considered and or a hydraulic strut assist for coming up.

@humbertotrevino I have never lowered the tire since finishing the project. (knock on wood) It's been over some of the roughest terrain on the planet too. I will get the handle updated one day

You should use a drill adapter on that much faster and easy but nice idea

@69sedanman A flip handle, and one that spins on a shaft is exaclty what it needs.

Definately needs a better crank handle...or you could use a battery/air operated drill. It would be much quicker.

That's more work then just lifting the tire off the carrier.
