Along with the lift kit and wheel spacers, I bought larger tires (33") for my Tacoma and in this video I address the issue of rubbing.

Tacoma: Everyone that buys our trucks want to put 32-35" tires on? Ok, let's just not make that easy for 40+ years.

I love ur videos my friend!!!!!!!!! Do u have a video on the spacers for the carrier bearings....cause I have vibration in my driveshaft....it was real bad with the NON-tappered blocks....then it went away ...alot of it...still a little so I thought I'd lower the barrier bearing....I wouldnt mind some opinions ......thank you for the videos!!!! Plus thank you in advance for your opinions!!!!
@KFloTacoma
@KFloTacoma 5 лет назад
So you changed over to tapered blocks then, right? Here are things i would recommend checking first: Check whether or not your u-joints are still tight - if there are some play, it would cause vibrations regardless of the carrier bearing, so check and then replace if needed. If the U-Joint is ok then you can do the carrier bearing drop. Good luck!

Nice demonstration! I'm planning to lift my Tacoma 3-2 and I have the same problem, but in the other side due to and accident hit it on that side. My question is what's the maximum you can move the tire forward? I have like 2.5 inch backward. Hope with new LCA brackets, new SPC UCA with new bolts and new Tied Rods it'll fix the problem. I wish to put couple pics and you'll see how it looks thanks.
@KFloTacoma
@KFloTacoma 3 года назад
I think it only moves it maybe about an inch max.

@oldspeed671
@oldspeed671 5 лет назад
@@KFloTacoma they literally just gave it back to me messed up in my 5 visits, to different ones too. For the caster/camber, did you just use the same amount of tick marks on the LCA cam bolts on both sides or do you just measure forward/aft from cab mount distance and adjust from there?
@KFloTacoma
@KFloTacoma 5 лет назад
Caster Is for how stable steering feels and how well it tracks center. If it feels ok, i would do it by ticks but if it feels weird then i would measure. Its based on your truck though. Good luck

What are the chances 265’s will fit under a 2012 w stock suspension w out rubbing? I’ve read a lot and some people are saying 275’s will rub but 265’s won’t.

Toyota designed tacomas fender wells oddly from 2005 thru 2015 having almost a verticle cut design behind the front wheels & the back wheels thats why I didnt buy a tacoma for all them years, I just bought a used 2017 trd offroad 4x2 comes with locking differential I dont go offroad much at all but I may yet consider getting a 4x4 eventually down the road as for fitting bigger tires on tacomas I personally would never cut fender wells, back in the early days if someone wanted bigger tires they just did a body lift as well suspension but the trucks back in the days was much easier to lift having straight axles & not much involved to do a body lift.. Todays trucks way too much involved to do a body lift would of been nice if toyota just made the fenders more rounded out 3" more front & back of the fenders then you could throw on 35" wheels with no problems..

@@KFloTacoma Oh, that's a 32.7" tire then. Right? So 285s fit the stock rim just fine. So much too figure out in this topic. I'm planning to run Bilstein 6112 and SPC uca. I'm not sure what tire and wheel combo to get.

Jose Lopez 265/75/16 is supposed to be the biggest tire you can put on a stock 16" wheel with no lift, they say anything bigger will rub. That's what put on mine and it's fine.

hey Kyle I got in an accident with my Toyota truck about a week ago and I replace my lower control arm and knuckle and it's causing the wheel to rub towards the back of the firewall and these are stock tires come on brother let me know what I need to do to get my truck going I'm going to Hawaii this week and need my truck aloha
@KFloTacoma
@KFloTacoma 6 лет назад
I'm not sure what type of accident you got into. Here's a few advices: See if you can adjust the caster to move the wheel forward. Check if your strut got over compressed and was compromised (compare the lengths with the opposite side). If so, replace them. Watch part 2 of the interference video. Check if the upper control arm got damaged. laki maikaʻi!
@KFloTacoma
@KFloTacoma 6 лет назад
Also, double check and make sure you're using the proper lower control arm (i.e. the proper one for its side, left one goes to left side). The stock tires are way too small to be rubbing like that
