What happens when a tire won’t read? Is there a problem with the sensor? Tires are all new. The right rear was having a sensor issue prior to new tires.
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 3 года назад
Either the battery in the sensor is dead, the sensors are not compatible (I put 2019 wheels on and they aren’t the same), or there aren’t sensors. You’ll have to remove the tire from the rim and install new sensors

After I did all that, inside the car shows a psi of 41, but then I used an actual gauge and it shows a psi of 32 on the wheels. Why is that? Thanks!

Hey Dany, I bought used sets of rims with tires (22” from a Denali truck) and put on my Yukon Denali 2016. Car looks great and I did the same exact thing as u did but mine after relearning the tams the light comes back after 30min. Do u think it could be the sensors?

Just something to keep in mind, the thermostat can also cause the symptom for the fan to run. Here is the video for that if you need it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aEfgkxWdBYw.htmlsi=XDnx4nYL734oC-tY

Is there a good way for the car to alert you when to stop filling the tire with air when it’s low?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 2 года назад
No, you’d just have to look at the gauge and see what the psi is at
@sinamon_stick_8079
@sinamon_stick_8079 3 года назад
I just tried that and it worked. My question is: Must I repeat this method every time or will the vehicle pick up the pressure that’s currently on the vehicle?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 3 года назад
It will remember everything where it currently is. The only time you should need to calibrate it again in the future is when you change the position of where the wheel is located on the vehicle (rotate tires for example).

From L - R my tire pressure from my other sensors read @ 34, 32, 34, 35 psi but the pressure on my new wheel and tire set up are @ 40 psi. I have a 2017 Sierra and I upgraded from 17 inch factory gmc wheels to 20 inch factory gmc wheels with new factory monitors and the same part number in my 17 inch wheels but for some reason it won’t read the new sensors.
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 3 года назад
Did you calibrate the new sensors with the machine shown in the video? It may be trying to read the old sensors but it has to be calibrated to the new ones

Ok. I see what I have to do. I have to wake up the new sensors.

Is there a way to stop the tire pressure error message? I installed winter rims and tires and I incessantly have that error message every time i get in the truck. Thanks!
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 3 года назад
The only real way would be with a custom tune that can turn it off or throw 4 sensors into a pvc pipe that you cap off and pressurize- then put that in the back lol
@BenjamIncredible
@BenjamIncredible 4 года назад
Can't you also just let air out or into the tire to be re-learned?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage

That used to be the case and isn’t anymore

So did you successfully link your 2019 wheels to the TPMSystem???? I have the exact same 2015 Yukon xl denali and I just bought some 2021 AT4 wheels and want to link them to the Denali TPMSystem. Curious if you successfully linked the later model wheels and sensors sir.
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 2 года назад
Mine never linked, so if you want them to you’ll need to remove the tire and put compatible sensors on

Hey Danny, I'm slightly confused. When you swapped out for these new tires and rims, did you have to purchase new sensors or did you put old sensors in the new set up?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
@dannyjohnsonsgarage 3 года назад
I bought new take off wheels that had sensors, but being 2019 they are different sensors that are not comparable. The tires are so perfect I don’t went to remove them to put in the proper sensors (for now).

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Thanks for reply. I'm contemplating doing the same thing on my Denali. I've replaced my front struts, but still a rough ride on my 20's.
