My partner and I have been building out our Ford Transit for over a year. Granted we had to take about 6 months off due to winter, but we're finally narrowing in on the final big projects: finishing off the plumbing, buttoning up the last of the electrical and finishing the lower cabinets. Then it's just cosmetics.. finally!! Building out a tiny home on wheels is definitely a major undertaking and we're both pretty much ready for it to be done. I'm pretty sure if we didn't have each other throughout this process, we would've given up by now. But we are so incredibly fortunate to be making our dreams a reality and pretty soon the next, fun part of our dream will finally come true!
Great video sharing the journey. Machines sure are special and there's a lot of focus on their function, and rightfully so, but there's also a special bond that can develop, even though some folks will scoff at it or call it crazy. It's not crazy; we trust our lives with machines and they certainly rely on us for assistance, maintenance, tlc. Even if we think of it as extensions of ourselves, it's still a special relationship, full of both good times and trying times. Thanks for sharing it.
Yep. Started my van build thinking I’d be done in 3 months. 2 yrs later but my eye is on the prize. Doing it all yourself is definitely hard but worth the knowledge you gain about various crafts. I’m like a jack of all trades now it’s crazy. Shout out to all the sprinter van homies out there!
I’m happy to take my time doing my Troopy build. She came as a 2016 camper already, I’m upgrading her bit by bit. Done the top end from Perth , Kimberley’s, Darwin to Cairns Already. More trips to be had.
Neela is a dream truck and build for me, I'm quite envious, even the delays and frustration, because it will all pay off. And you mentioned the struggles of life in your last video. All the best Sorelle and happy travels.
DIY Build projects are not for everyone. The concept of the build is exciting. After my 4th project car. I now look for prebuilt options or off the shelf options that do not cost a kidney.
Cool stuff, a couple of years ago i had the privilege of cutting out the whole bottom half of my jeep frame, and welding in new frame caps, spring mounts, and section of torque boxes, all with no lift, and a cheap harbor frieght welder. Along with a slip yoke eliminator, double cardon drive shaft, upper control arms, new gas tank skid plate, and new motor mounts. Took two whole weeks, but girl am i proud of it!!🙂🤙🏻
@@shinyshinythings Oh, the torque boxes and rear upper spring mounts(trailing arms) were done at a separate time, about 2 years before all the other stuff. I used to work as a welder/fabricator, and have some experience working on vehicles. Also having a plasma torch made cutting the frame quick work. But it was a tough job as I could only raise the jeep as high as my jack 4 jack stands would go.
It gets frustrating. I'm building my troopy and so far it's been in the paint shop for a year. Still got loads to do but you'll love her again when it's done
I know this is a silly comment but you saying "90 liter water tank" is the most Australian I think I've ever heard you sound in any video, and it made me giggle because my accent comes out when I'm excited too. :)
I always believed this about my cars ...You will soon understand it's not just a car it's a connection between human ( or 👽) and machine , it will become an extension of you and you will sense its personality. Trust it and it will trust you and keep you going for as long as you want. .. Enjoy and wish you many millions of safe kms !!!
If I had the early retirement $ behind me I’d be in a happy position despite the time it’s taken your build. I’m fitting out a Toyota coaster and it’s well almost been 2 years and still quite far from finishing. Can relate to the frustration because it’s an absolute mind game of what to get when to do what and how to get there before it’s even finished.
Great videos as always but lets be honest here, 4 months is nothing to build one of these, and given the fact that you've openly admitted to have 'jumped the queue' in a few places because of your 'influence' maybe spare a thought to those who have been waiting 6-12 months just to get into places like headspace campers, who have their builds delayed further because of 'influencers' such as yourself, jumping the queue. The troopy looks fantastic and godspeed on your adventures when you finish, but maybe spare a thought for the individuals who are in build queues that are 12 months plus, because 'influencers' keep jumping in front of them, and then complaining about how long the processes is taking (even if it's in a light hearted way).
Ummm…there’s not many influencers in this space. Not sure if you’ve realised. And anyone can pay extra to be fast tracked with headspace, not just the two influencers you’ve seen that have had this privilidge (literally there’s no others I know of) So I will not accept your frustration towards me, sorryyy. However, bummer it’s taking so long and excited for you when it’s done!
@@SorelleAmore actually ASPW, overlandtravellers, sandytracks, yourself just to mention 2 more than you quoted. All used shoutouts in videos (influence) to expedite through the process ahead of others, that I’m aware of but who knows truly these days with the way RU-vidrs present ‘facts’. Personally don’t have a build but have multiple friends who are, who are on high wait times and to be completely transparent, was not aware of headspace’s pay to be fast tracked but it seems my friends in these build queues weren’t made aware of this either. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your drawn out build. No doubt the long wait will be worth it
I think your build time has been awesome. I collected my LC in Dec 2020 and with all COVID delays on parts and delivery, took 18 months and now with only 25k on the clock have another half a dozen things to add before going bush to explore this great land. Congrats - looks awesome!
I've built out 2 vans and the last van was the dream build all out no budget build and I put 200 hours of labour into it. It's insane the time that goes into doing these builds. Can't wait to see your finished build!!
I was in a job that was toxic and undervaluing me, underpaying me, the culture was so bad. I was in such a dark place and then this feeling washed over me that I needed a career break, to buy a van and build it out and travel the east coast of Australia. This was back in 2018, 2019 bought the van and it took a year to build it with my friends and uncle. I swear the build process as frustrating as it was, was the best part. My set sail date was the 20th of April 2020. And we all know what happened. So August 2020 I set off on the adventure. And I was so lonely and again, not in a great headspace that I only made it as far as Brisbane to the Daintree and back. A little while later, I’m on a walk and I’m asking the universe, what now, and mother washed over me. I was nervous to trust my intuition as I felt like my van adventure was a failure. After years of struggling to conceive, my first born is now 2 and she’s amazing. As hard as it is, I never second guess my decision to bring her into the world. I still struggle at times with second guessing if I’m fit enough to be a mum. But that’s the PMDD (that was only just diagnosed recently) talking. So, what to do with my first pride and joy, my van, there was no option to modify it for a child seat, so, regretfully needed to sell her. Found the best new owner. A retired gentleman, so lovely and funny. The day he collected the van, he brought us home cooked sourdough bread. The sweetest guy. He planned to do a lap of Australia after he did some modifications to suit his needs. So, off he sets and I’m jealous but happy. He heads south from Brisbane. And I watch his adventures on instagram. He would usually post weekly and made me so happy to live vicariously through him. Then, after a little while he stopped posted and I figured he went off social media for a bit, good on him. Sent him a message a couple of weeks later to check in on him. Then saw comments on his latest posts. “RIP” he only made it as far as Victoria. My heart still breaks. He had only been retired maybe 6 months. Sorell, when you talk about Neila, it feels like you’re talking to me as my name is Mila. I’m not sure how to end this comment. Second born wakes every hour at night so I am a bit sleep deprived and my brain functions a bit wobbly but I hope this reaches you. Like I said, the build of the van was the best part of my van adventure as it brought community together when we were in lockdown. It gave me something to look forward too ❤️
If you are thinking this is a nightmare - let me tell U our story: As we sold our house four years ago - we ordered a brandnew Toyota with a lot of gimmicks and extras with the money - paid it cash - and then the company got broke, and we did not get the car neither the money back. Nearly 100k!!!. So I am wishing you a lot of fun, and enjoy having your toyota. I definitely will order it back from the universe. I want it really!!!
@@SorelleAmore Yes it's true. The Company who made the Import of the cars and the upgrade got broke, we had lawyer and tried everything. This is already over 2 years ago. Still wounding me. German law is crazy at some place.
I really like you. Stick with it, follow through (like you do), I am looking forward to seeing the improved and regenerated Neila. Ps. Your hair has gotten so long!
Sorelle, i hope you are doing fine!. i have a question for you. in one of your videos you used a song from Sugoi - Thema. i tried to figure out, if this are gema free and allowed to freely use in one of my youtube intros. do you have any information about this? thank you and have a great day! thomas
Morning From Uk ..just 7am W>T>F"s going on how can yiu keep it going with too much money being Spent DUMP and get a Good One >??, being in the uk motor trade for 35yrs plus I know When Its Time To Get OUT!! sending Love Hugs Tc Xxx
Toyota doesn't underthings the engine to last longer and by tuning it you are cutting down the long time life of the engine and it will not last long like a regular Toyota does because you decided to tune out the longevity measures, to squeeze some more performance out of it... i don't blame you i blame the stupid men around you that are misguiding you.
Nope. You are very clueless and delusional my friend. It’s not as ‘conspiracy’ as you wish for it to be. It’s a business separation with an ex romantic partner. Simple.
@@SorelleAmore My bad I liked the substance of your work 2, 3 years ago, when you cleared things up for me. And having myself two LandCruiser's earliel in life, little bit knowing how much potatoes you have to peel for such an operation you 're doing with it, my assumption ''s went wild. My apologies Have a good one
Yeah but @@SorelleAmoreit has always been a neverending journey. See you at the end of it, no-one makes it out alive, that's the rule of life, have fun while it lasts, or while you fart 😂. You are wonderful 👍
Why this Land Cruiser why not electric utility van like a electric Ford Transit that you could convert into an actual comfortable sleeping area... just strapper a really good winch to the front of it and if you get stuck anywhere you just winch yourself out with the proper tools and honestly how many times are you gonna use it without good AC? With a transit van it has a built in inverter that can run a AC heatpump for multiple days... You can sleep at charging stations for free. Because you are charging you can sleep there without hassle...
@@SorelleAmore Sorella, work on that more harder. I hate vultures. I wish the best to people. I tryed to advice you before 1 or 2 years on dressing more modest, and some economic things. Then I didnt follow your chanel, and now I see you are not doing anymore economy guessing. World is on fire. Wish you the best.
My car is due for rego soon and she needs a lot from me. I will got it my all until my fingers bleed 😂🩸 ❤ but right now she’s retired cause I simply don’t have cash for rego right now 😢
