Saving up for my first crawler, been watching a lot of RU-vid videos. Your videos have been the most informative! You help me to make decisions on what to buy and what to avoid, really appreciate your vast knowledge and how you easily explain things without a bunch of filler and nonsense. Thanks man!
I always make it to the end of your videos and series. They are always clear and concise. As a newbie I learned so much from these. Thank you for taking the time to make them!
Thanks for making this so simple for me to understand. I put those steel rally’s on my Gen8 and after 15 minutes, I tore up the pinion in the differential. Redcat covered it under warranty, so hopefully they are now using better metal.
Plug the vents on your front tires and assemble them underwater so your tire is full of water you will add approximately 8 to 10 oz per tire and you will be amazed at how well they do. If you're in a very cold area then you can fill them with windshield washer solvent that's good for below zero. I leave my fome's in my tires when I fill them with fluid. I've been doing it for years and haven't had any problems.
Great video Can you tell me a good metal beadlock wheel that is easy to change. And not with 32 screws like you said 😅 its for a trx bronco i want something shiny 😛
While heavy front wheels isn't much of a problem for the drive train, it does demand more from the servo and motor. I prefer to have the wheels at a moderate weight (aluminium rims and no added weights) and then go all in on the axle.
Excellent as always! 😎 The points made on WEIGHTING Wheels is spot on. One thing... Instead of Solder, which can be CAUSTIC and harmful to the Tires, Wheels - and your HANDS!! 😲 Use "String" or "Pencil Lead" *Fishing Wire Sinker.* It acts and LOOKS like Solder, but NO Acid or Rosin Core!! And it's heavier by the Foot! Can be found at most Sporting Goods Stores. 😉 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Super explained again. Keep up those quality videos. And you are right, beadlocks can sometimes be very easy and fast to install, but sometimes it is also quite some work. I have a video on my channel where I show a DIY simple and cheap tool to make it easier to install a beadlock.
Always great videos from you guys! I have 4 crawlers and run 4 different tire/foam/wheel combinations and, what a difference it makes. I have the stock method plastic wheels with BFG KO2 on my SCX10ii, they are great for rock crawling but really struggle in loose or wet conditions. I have Proline SS mounted to heavy plastic wheels and dual stage foams on my SCX10 Jeep and they work very well on all terrains i have tried them on. My RC4WD LWB runs cheap plastic wheels and foams with Maxxis trepador tires and they work pretty well. I just ordered some heavy steel beadloks for my SCX10 and i plan to swap all the wheelsets around. i want to try the Traxxas TRX4 stock tires with the mods you showed in the other tire series videos on some steel beadloks, i heard lots of good about the Traxxas tires.
I just added a set of aluminum beadlock wheels the other day. I have not had a chance to run it yet. My only concern is the center ring does not have any holes in it. So the tires are semi pneumatic, they are sealed. I've thought about taking them apart and drilling a couple holes through the center ring but, as you alluded to it's a PIA with the multiple fasteners to remove and reinstall. What are your thoughts?
Running the Hyrax 1.9 Predator with Dual Stage Proline foams and TREAL aluminum bead Locks on my Axe, compared to the stock wheels and tires it feels like cheating.
Hi, completely appreciate your vidz. Just let me know your thoughts about wpl c14 tuning. That’s my sons and my first rig. Best regards from Germany. Peace!
How do you guys like the Proline BFG KM3 tires? I know you guys normally use a different Proline tire, but the KM3 have my eye since I have them on my real truck :-P
Jason Hoffman did you go with the km3’s? I’m trying to figure out what foam to use with them and vanquish kmc beadlocks. I’m going to add about 1 point to my Blazer trx4 and the stock traxxas foam I think is ok but maybe can do better with proline 2 stage. I don’t want the tires to collapse though or look flat
