When I was a squad leader during the Grenada Invasion, (been 40 years last month) I was issued an old WW2 era 1911 before I left FT Bragg. They gave me the pistol, 2 mags and a box of ammo. I fired that pistol off while on the island, couldn't hit anything. It was shot out, but very reliable. tied a length of paracord to my belt and pant loop, and the other end to the lanyard. Kept it tucked under my belt, loaded mag with empty chamber, and put the spare mag in my back pocket. That Tisas looks identical to that old 1911 I had, not fired one since i left the military. May have to purchase one, maybe two.
I am a fan of the Tisas ...no doubt. All those we've had here were awesome and 100% reliable. Mine is more accurate than a lot of more expensive makes.
Thank you PB, I will have to look into the tisas. I do like the old 1911, but if I had to grab and go, it would be my 45-70 rifle and 45 colt blackhawk. @@plowboysghost
Great 1911a1 best money I have spent on a handgun! I have over 600 rounds through mine eats everything fmj,jhp and swc hasn’t skipped a beat. I put a set of walnut double diamond grips on mine more reminiscent of the grips on the original Colt 1911. Also replaced the plunger spring with a spring from Wolff to make the manual safety more positive. Just discovered your channel, I share your passion for SA and DA revolvers and 1911s! Thanks for sharing!
_Oh say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free (if you can keep it), and the home of the (if you can stop fearing) brave?_ Nice 1911, Plowboy.
Oh my goodness gracious! The very though of witnessing the turning of a grip screw!😱 That's why there's so much gun violence! That simple act is creating a weapon of mass destruction!😰 Sheila Jackson Lee, the formost authority on firearms, says an AR15 shoots 50 caliber exploding bullets that can shoot down the International Space Station! The horror of knowing that the turning of a grip screw will turn a 1911A1 into a supersonic rocket launcher of such devastating proportions!!😭😪 😄😊😅😂
I'm going to pick up my new taylors/uberti running iron this week. Question though, why do ubertis get hate from the sass community a lot? A lot of guys im asking are saying ubertis are low tier single actions. Seems like a fine gun to me.
I don't know about hate for Uberti...other than a .... strong dislike for the Cattleman II system most of them have now. Dimensionally, the Uberti is a hair larger than a Colt and a Pietta, but I have non Cattleman II Uberties I love
