I was having whistling around my prime valve at higher pressures on my 650 pc pro and yes my prime valve was leaking too when I switched valve to spray! Took the prime valve apart, cleaned it (it was gunked up black metal/ corrosion, inspected the needle and seals and it was all fine !! Thought I needed to replace. Reassembled it w loc tite and tightened everything together and bam it’s working great. What happened was my prime valve as you said loosened itself up throughout the 450 gallons I put it through sofar. Once I tightened it all it’s fine now and holding pressure at 3000psi plus, which it wasn’t before.
Do you know if swapping out the prime valve will help the not priming part? Like even if i toggle the switch it still sprays from the pistol and very very little coming out of the return hose
Just purchased a clean but used 440 impact for a great price, but it has a problem priming. Does this read like a problem with the valve? Any vids of urs that I should look at for this issue?
great job. have you ever seen an intermittent priming, or it will only prime if one turns the pressure up (yikes) - almost like there's something obstructing the prime valve's operation?
My Titan 3500 Powrliner is not sucking through the Inlet hose. I feel zero pressure when I touch it. The regulator assembly won't stop turning when I turn it counter clockwise, for less pressure, but it will stop when I turn it clockwise for more pressure. Is this normal? It was sitting for about 4 months, with zero use. Only sovent based product has been used. Any advice on troubleshooting?
@Brian Shumack the repair guy I appreciate the response. I'm really leaning towards your advice. I will probably make an appointment in the next couple of days.
Is the Graco 395 Nova similar replacement? My Nova is 15 plus years old and the primer valve just started leaking. Is it fairly similar to replace as this
If the prime valve is bad it will leak. To check the prime valve, turn the pressure to about a third up from zero. Once the machine primes turn the prime valve off and see if it continues to run out of the valve. If your pressure is too high, it can start to leak out the prime valve once the pressure reaches about 3800psi. You would be best putting a gauge on the machine to see what pressure you are getting. That would help.
Hi Brian. Thank you For the video. I need to trouble shoot a problem on my Wagner3.29 pro spray. It was okay before but now the prime/spray handle turns 360 all way round .The machine Goes to spray mode when I don’t press the trigger but as soon I press the gun trigger it automatically goes to prime mode but still I can see some water from gun but no water comes the prime hose even when the Machine is in prime. Plz assist me.
The motor is creating too much heat. Could be a bad thermistor, the motor could be under a load to much to handle or the bearing could be going bad. Remove the fluid section and plug the transducer in and let it run to see if it is reoccurring with that code
@@Brian_the_repair_guy When I start spraying I raise all the pressure to the maximum but it seems that I have it at the lowest level of pressure to spray, it seems that it does not have the power to spray
@@miguelpaintingmiguelescoba8072 there are 2 quick possibilities. One the packings are worn. Two there is an obstruction or trash in the pump. I have a video I think titled "sudden loss of pressure" watch that one and see if it helps clear the pump. If you need, I can make a video specific to the 440 on what to do. Keep me informed
For most of the Graco units, this is very similar. There are a couple that use a different style. If your prime valve looks like this, then it is basically the same process.
Yes, they can be very tight. Place the fluid section in a vice while trying to remove. You can use a punch and hammer it you do not have the proper tool
Either way. No problems with using the valve to relieve pressure. Unless the hose is clogged, then you may have a rupture. This is why I instruct you to open the valve slowly.
@@Brian_the_repair_guy a paint store owner told me I would blow the packings out if I flip the valve without relieving pressure through the gun. Is this true?
