Appreciate the video. I just ordered mine yesterday in large part because of your video. I've run some rough calculations and I think concrete bricks (not clay) are going to be my fill method. The sand bags are probably easier for most people if you're ok lifting 50 lbs, but I'm not and will need to spend a little time playing Jenga with little 5 lb bricks.
great to hear.Ive never taken the sand bags out of mine over the last 3 years.when i unhook over winter for a snowblower,i lower on a dolley and move it around.i can tell you that i wouldnt be without it.cant drive my tractor in 2 wheel drive hardly without it,way to light..
I bought a big red plastic cutting board on Amazon and made a top for my Titan ballast box. Works great. Also when ordering, you can order the John Deere propriety quick-hitch ballast box or the non-proprietary quick-hitch box. FYI: My tool holders came welded to the right-side of the box. The Chinese manufacturer seems to make this box both ways, but Titan does not have an online option to order one or the other. The quality of the box is excellent.
Thanks Rooster for the fine ballast box review. I am going to get this box but the cost is now $289. I was wondering if it can be lifted with the quick hitch. Thanks for the info about not being able to rest it on a flat surface. I think you said you got a dolley or something. Thanks for the review. Full-watch and big like 👍 .
wow, price went up a bit....i cant say yes or no for sure if a quick hitch will work.i was always going to buy the one from harbor freight but dont switch implements enough to need it ive found out.ive read that it possibly doesnt work with a quick hitch though..this is of course only what ive read...thanks for watching
Very nice rooster -- the paint job makes it look like it's a factory Kioti box. How high off the ground will your 3-point raise the receiver tube off the ground? I'm thinking about getting the Titan box and using the receiver to put a d-ring insert into to drag logs with a chain and grapple. I want to be able to lift the front of the log off the ground during dragging. My tractor is a 2540 Mahindra so the box may start out a bit higher off the ground than yours. I think if I can get that receiver at least 30 inches off the ground I should be in good shape.
sideskraft I will have to check the distance for sure when I get a minute but I’m thinking 30” maybe pushing it. On my tractor I would say its around 1.5ft at the highest position at the most.will get you the exact measurement hopefully this weekend and get back to you. Thanks for your comments and interest.
i can check later today when i get home.I upgraded my tractor to a DK35SE last year and kept this box to put on that tractor as well even though it has beet juice in the rear tires.i love the box for weight but for also putting my rakes and shovels in it.be amazed at how much i nee those tools when out with the tractor and they are at an arms distance away.thanks for asking
