"I don't think this part was necessary"... she was living, really living, for the first time in her life. That is why the scene was necessary. Building up her struggle. We know her fears and sadness, and her hopelessness. That was when she learned to feel something, to hope, to see a future. And not *only* with Jack, but in general.

Fun fact: The scene where Rose takes her robe off in front of Jack wasn't revealed to Leo that she would be genuinely naked. So when he says "Go on the bed- THE COUCH" it was an ACTUAL flub in his acting but they kept it cause it was too perfect. His reaction to her nudity is real.

Kathy Bates is playing the part of Margaret Brown, posthumously known as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", was an American socialite and philanthropist. There is a movie out called The Unsinkable Molly Brown, but the reason the rich don't like her is because she wasn't from established money as in old family funds. She was poor, with little to no education and got it the new way, earning it. Plus, because she wasn't posh, she tended to speak her mind and was a bit rough around the edges. She was ahead of her time.

The 2 of you are proof that opposites attract. You both have a sense of humor, but the type of humor is so different. Ashleigh is more in your face and whacky, while the hubby is more dry. It's a nice blend because each personality reflects and magnifies the other. And this is one of those movies that could have cut a bunch of stuff out, but in the end it does do a good job telling the bigger overall story and because of that I'll always like this movie.

@@ckobo84 I find it ironic that someone with the name "Dick Trickle" would complain about another person not being serious enough about something. It's obvious she's having a good time because she's with her hubby. She's excited to share something he really likes. The point of "REACTIONS" are for them to react. They can't just sit and watch a movie because then it's literally them just watching a movie. They have to add something to it in order to avoid copyright laws. By adding commentary and making it unique it counts towards her 'creating' something new. And at the end of the day calling someone annoying because you don't like how they react to a movie is just...weird. Her personality is what makes her stand out.

Kathy Bates played a true person called Molly Brown who became the 'Unsinkable Molly Brown'. She was married to James Joseph Brown. They moved to a small town close to the gold mines, He was a miner who developed a method of reaching gold at the bottom of a mine and became part of the new wealthy. She became involved in women's clubs dedicated to improving conditions for women and children. She studied acting and became a suffragette. She was in Alva Vanderbilt's social circle in NY. (Ava Vanderbilt was THE socialite in NY...) She became fluent in several languages and used them to assist third class passengers on the sinking Titanic. She later headed the Survivors Committee. In 1932 she received the Legion of Honour for her efforts during and after the sinking if the Titanic.

Yes! I've heard people call out the portrayal as "problematic" in retrospect, but it's always felt very authentic and nuanced to me. It's certainly a tricky thing to get right, and films frequently miss the mark, but he does a great job of bringing that character to life. I will always defend it as legitimately one of his greatest roles.

In the end you find out if you survived, I did not. I did touch the actual main door of the ship which was off limits and a major no-no. It was roped off but I had my friend hold on to my belt so I could lean way over to touch it. I mean how many chances do you get to do that.

I really like Wall-E, but my best memory of it is not the movie. When it came out, I was an intern at JPL, the NASA site that developed the robotic probes and rovers. Pixar invited some of the robotics folks to a pre-screening of the film, and to hear the joy in the voice of a senior engineer describing the film and how right they got some things is still one if my favorite memories about Wall-E. The scene he was referring to was when one of Wall-E's cameras breaks and he replaces it. Totally geeked out about how, yes that is how a robot would likely behave if it lost depth perception and how the calibration and aligning procedure that is gone though would be needed and the inclusion of this level of detail brought him more into the movie.

8:21 Blake: “you think she would be weird about going back on the water” I have lived in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado, I’m 39 married with no kids. I’ve spent most of my life in the panhandle of Florida, and in central Florida, Orlando specifically. If you get nipped by a shark or lose, a limb, by a shark, you still go back to the beach/water/surfing/whatever😊😊😊😊 When I was six, I jumped off of a three-story tuna tower as all of us kids did on my stepdad‘s boat, and I landed on a Portuguese Manowar, I didn’t come back up, and one of the grownups had to jump in to save me because I had become paralyzed. By the time I got back in the boat and they told me to pee on my own legs, and they put vinegar and aloe on me, a Capri Sun juice box and 30 minutes later, I was jumping off of the tuna tower again with the rest of the kids. Born and raised in the south, the Gulf of Mexico was a way of life growing up in Destin Florida when it was a tiny fishing village in the 80s and 90s. ❤❤❤❤ loving this

Per James Cameron: In the beginning of the film, if you see a submarine on camera, it is a model. The footage of the ship with no submarine in frame is actual footage.
@Daveyboy100880
@Daveyboy100880 2 года назад
Not quite accurate - they took two subs down to the crash site for real, and one filmed the other. Therefore, if you see a single submarine on camera, it's probably a genuine one, filmed by the second sub at the crash site. If you see two subs in the shot, it's a visual effects shot.

There's a conspiracy theory that links the Rothschilds, the sinking of the Titanic, and the creation of the Federal Reserve. Benjamin Guggenheim, Isa Strauss (actual name Isidor Straus), and David Astor were three wealthy men who died on the Titanic. The three opposed the new Federal Reserve Bank." The Titanic's sinking happened in 1912, and the opening of the Federal Reserve happened in 1913. Was their opposition to the Fed and their deaths were somehow linked? A RU-vid video offers some additional "information," hinting that the sinking of the Titanic was effectively drawn up as a re-creation of a late-19th-century book called "Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan." The book was published 14 years before the Titanic sank and a decade before any construction began.
