It really is art :D And Thanks! I've been around for around a year and a half now but only seriously for the last year. I dont blame you for not finding me sooner :P RU-vid tends to favour the larger channels and kick down the whelps like me lol that said i think i'm one of the only RU-vidrs that covers such a wide range of Titanic content :) I hope you stick around my friend, and thanks for the comments :)
Best demo ive ever seen, period. Im just worried that the game will run like a powerpoint presentation when they implement AI and dynamic water/ object physics
What i would love to see in the final product is the option to scale the population density up and down in the options. Either high, medium, or low NPC count or even turn them off completely. Obviously wouldn't be available in the campaign.
Bob Dole It would be crazy to not have graphical options like that, Im sure something like that would be in game. For example in Warcraft you can adjust the draw distance to only populate very close to you (Or very far away too)
I'm sure when they actually get to developing the game they will implement many levels of settings to cater to a wide variety of PC's, considering im running both demo's at about 40+fps on a 6 year old pc, id say its quite remarkable how well it runs as it is. But i also really hope they give the options so those with top of the line rigs can just max everything out, i want crazy hi res textures so we can see all the detail they've meticulously crafted and i'm also hoping for some sort of tessellation/hi poly models as i just think this game would look insane with both 4k textures and much smoother curves for geometry like around the aft staircase dome :D
Spammals, I must say, I am THOROUGHLY impressed, you have reawakened my love for Titanic. This video was the first of yours I ever watched. I have noticed after some watching of your videos, we are alike in MANY ways. I like to play games, while I don't have as much complex equipment as you do, and we both like Titanic. I must say, I probably learned more about Titanic from your Demo 1 and Demo 2 videos than I learned in the past years. I never actually knew "Scotland Road" was a thing on Titanic until this video and Demo's video. So with my parting words, you have definitely earned yourself a subscription. I'm rewatching this video for like the 500th time. xD
Wow thanks buddy, I'm really touched that the videos really hit it off with you. Welcome to the channel! We're having another Titanic week starting from April 8th so you've found us just in time :) I've something very cool lined up that you wont have seen anywhere :P
Well many thanks to ya Spammals, reall appreciate how you're keeping up with responding to most comments and such, I know it's hard to keep up with 8,000+ subscribers, so keep up the good work!
This is beyond a game, it's art and love combined. Look at that woodwork in the purser's office, this is proving to be so much more than anything that has ever come before it except the ships themselves. Even though we've heard the saying for 104 years, its becoming far more clear as to why people were calling this a "palace at sea." The sheer scale and painstaking workmanship is finally revealing itself. The H&G guys have proven themselves worthy of yet another donation from me and it's because I watched it here ;) How fast did that hundred sneak by btw? I'm telling you buddy, you've got the goods man! Keep up the great videos an I'll keep watching!!!
It truly is Art. I'm in love with the daylight in game! I get a warm feeling inside walking around, just wait for other passengers to be added and for the ship to really breath life! :D
Thanks Kevin! I talk a lot of crap in most my videos but when it comes to Titanic i try to treat her with respect and some class :D I love getting to talk shop walking around her lol And with a demo as stunning as this it makes it even easier to get lost in fantasy :D And yea, i saw another video where the RU-vidr thought the aft staircase was the forward staircase :P Alarm bells rang >
I must say, I didnt saw any game that look so good. Realy the lights are glorious and the many details, AWESOME. And there team is not so big like other companies, respect! And nice video too :D
+Spammals It is UE4 afterall (it is even free), so I'm not that surprised when it comes to lightning and shaders. I would have been really surprised if they made the graphics engine themselves. But hey, the textures look amazing. Researching and creating the detailed textures and models is probably the most time consumimg part. I don't have high expectations when it comes to AI and player interactions though. It requires good programming and animations skills.
I was obsessed with Titanic as a little kid. I'm glad someone else got as much joy from wandering the halls like I did, it gave me such a chill to to be hit with that kind of nostalgia and historic grandeur.
Maw man you're too kind :D I saw you commenting on some one elses Titanic video! I felt betrayed! You're cheating on me! lol Only kidding :P I'm curious to see how other RU-vidrs cover the demo, I get the feeling most wont cover any historical aspects of it.
Spammals Haha :) you're actually one of my favourite RU-vidrs in general so don't worry - I'm still comitted :) . I was refreshing RU-vid yesterday trying desperately to get a peak of the demo since the Honor and Glory website rejects my contributions, I'm guessing it was a comment on the first video of the demo that was uploaded to RU-vid, but yours was also worth the wait :).
As someone who grew up playing Titanic: Adventure out of time, the graphics & details in this game are mind blowing!! I'm completely fascinated watching you walk around the ship.
Ken Marschall and Parks Stevenson are absolutely amazing people. I have been a Titanic and maritime historian since 1989 when I was 6 years old and saw a Ken Marschall painting of Titanic sinking. My wife and I spent our honeymoon aboard the Queen Mary and we live in Pittsburgh. Thanks for the history lesson hidden in the review.
I always thought I was weird as a child, obsessing over a ship that sits at the bottom of the Atlantic, constantly cramming as much knowledge I could over the span of 18 years about a ship that sailed 80 years before my existence. The day this game is finished and released will be the best day of my entire life. No game has tried to capture such beauty and details as Honor and Glory. For me, the idea of standing in the Grand Staircase is one of pure bliss. So much respect for the creators!
Literally the best graphics I've ever seen. How these guys haven't gotten picked up from a major company with proper funding is beyond me. #HeresHoping
this is simlly just stunning. spammals good sir you are an excellent tour guide. love the opportunity to get to see this beautiful art being brought to life. i loved hearing the varied facts about titanic and the people who were lost in the sinking. this is a vision of beauty thank you mate
Truly a work of art. These guys are making a lot of people's dreams come true. Love the Easter eggs for the real Titanic game nerds. One of the cabins is labeled as "Your cabin in 'Titanic: Adventure Out of Time' (Cyberflix, 1996)" I half expected to find a pack of Reds in the cafe lattice work...
oh my god, that electric bath scene actually dominated my childhood as the thing that gave me nightmares. I couldn't lie on my back for years. good times
I watched this video ages ago and I and so glad that you like titanic as much as I do, I sadly can’t play the demo but hopefully I will be able to play the game on Xbox! FAVOURITE RU-vidr ❤️
I try to comment on every video to show that i am watching and enjoying your video's and i mean every word (whether it's stupid jokes or compliment's / criticism but i cannot tell you enough how good this commentary was. I am sure the developers will see this and hire you to make a promo video. The attention to the details and passion you have for their hard work is incredible!
Naww thanks man, It's nice to get comments because like you said it makes me feel people are watching and enjoying the videos. Love having you here apart of the Spammals fammaly :P I put a lot of effort into my narration and how i deliver the words trying to be as clear and clean as possible, no swearing!, I'm blown away by how well it's been recieved and hope people stick around to see the non Titanic games too :D As for being hired the ship has sailed on that as I volunteered long ago lol
I spent most of yesterday poking around this demo. Such a great time - a real amazing demo. Of course, it always just leaves you wanting more... I hope they find their investors and get this thing made soon!
Lol thanks for commenting Ant :D I was being cautious to not get TOO loud or to start swearing :D But there are moments where something catches your eye and you just react spontaniously :P I think because we start in a demo 1 area we dont get brand new content right away, so as we move aft and into the brand new stuff it's hard to contain the joy :P
It's going to be a masterpiece of an achievment and hopefully will help motivate and spread the creation of even more Titanic content for us to explore. :) Thanks for commenting!
This is going to be amazing. I still have Titanic: Adventure Out of Time and it has always been one of my all-time favorite games. It was so far ahead of its time. This game looks outstanding. Thanks for your time to review it.
It's a glowing example of what time and dedication can create, however, the difference between Vintage Digital Revival and triple A studios is that while H&G take all the time needed to get it right, the Triple A studio will always put profits and shareholders first so will push for a release date over historic accuracy. :( There's a big market for historic accurate events like this, think of a war series with Olympic, QM, QE, Lusitania. Or even just dissasters like the Andria Doria. I dont think there's enough time in the world >
Great video! Titanic is so fascinating. When I was 5 I remember reading a book called "Polar the Titanic Bear" that sparked my interest and when I was 10 I wrote my first research paper on the sinking of the Titanic. I love how you have both humor and historical details in your videos! This project is so beautiful
i know spammals! but it's sooo beautiful it makes me want to go there! there are , i think no ships nowadays that come close to the Titanic !! it's beautiful!
Im so excited fo H&G for how accurate it is and how sad and haunting it will be to watch it sink and for all that beauti to just plunge into the north Atlantic...lost forever, only to remain as a wreck on the seabed slowly rotting away....And im hoping H&G could help almost bring the ship up from the depths and for it to be restored into one of the best games ever made i bet. And I know for sure im getting the full game once its out. Also spammals, you are my most favorite youtuber who knows alot about not just titanic, but olympic aswell, and they truly are magnificent ships i must say. :)
Love this entire project. When I first started reading about the Oculus Rift I thought, "I wish someone would model Titanic. That would be amazing!" A short Google search later I was reading about Titanic: Honor and Glory and getting very excited. The demo looks brilliant, and I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary. It was knowledgeable, well-delivered, and best of all passionate. Great work! BTW, my mother is an acquaintance of Bob and Barbara Ballard and I'm going to see if I can forward this video to him- I would hope he would enjoy it. It's amazing what experiences technology can provide us with in this day and age!
Thanks for watching Docjonel and thank you for all the kind words! Titanic in VR is the next level of amazingness! lol :D I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Ballard back in 2012. He gave a lecture in Belfast and did a signing session after :D I love listening to his stories.
Wow, it's really amazing!!! The detailing is incredible! i litterally want to go there, you were right is seems alive! and who in the world could not like you? You're awesome, Dan! :)
Marjolaine! Thanks for watching as always! I would love more than anything in my lifetime to visit the Titanic, but her real beauty will only be found here in Honor and Glory! It's so great everyone is going to get the chance to explore her!
Great video Spammals, and I love this game! As much as I revere Titanic: Adventure Out of Time, it looks like this game will top it in scope and accuracy, and I look forward to the full game. Unfortunately, my nine year old laptop isn't powerful enough or has the specs for the demos, so your videos are great to watch and fun as well with your commentary. (Hopefully a new computer will be forthcoming soon.) Titanic has been a significant part of my life since the 1997 film (and I'm on your Titanic FB group), but it's amazing how there's still much to learn and if this game allows you to travel to every single room (including say, the refrigeration areas), then there will a ton of new things to find, or at least visualize for the first time. Anyway, thanks for this and all your Titanic videos, which are a pleasure and fun to watch. Take care, man :-)
Thanks CunardWhiteStar! The world was eager to see this game, i'm fortunate my video was one of the first online and boosted with the support of the devs. I'm so thankful for everything and Titanic being something i care so much for it really makes me happy to see she is the biggest thing on my channel. Thanks for commenting my friend!
This is the true definition of a cruise ship. Something which is elegance and luxury, merged with comfort and hospitality. This was White Star Line, and the line that EVERY modern cruise line should be compared to.
Which is so exciting! I love the team behind this... I watched them play adventure out of time last week, it was great. I'm actually watching your play through of it right now as well. That use to be my favorite video game as a child, and your videos are great. You deserve waaay more subscribers! Thanks for being awesome ^_^ (btw, not that it matters cuz you did the videos last year, but it took me a bit to figure out why you didn't get the painting... I'm not done the videos and you probably already know, but I think it was cuz you talked to Zeitel on your own too early, and since you didn't talk to him in the cafe Parisian before hand, he became suspicious of you and he figured out you took the Rubaiyat. So he or Sasha went and got the painting in case... or at least I think x] Idk I thought about it for ages. I'm a nerd.)
Luvcatz88 Yea thats one of the cool things about AooT, it's really easy to miss a conversation at a specific moment and change the events of the game for good :D Love it. Thanks for the kind words! :D
Not going to lie Titanic Honor and Glory is absolutely amazing. I would love them to come out with a sequel dedicated to the S.S Edmund Fitzgerald which is the most famous shipwreck in the Great Lakes. I understand that the Fitz was a bulk freighter built in the late 1950's, and does not compare to the Titanic in elegance. However just picture yourself walking inside the engine room around the 7,500 shp Westinghouse Electric steam turbine, or up forward in the bridge on the Texas deck. I would love to hear your thoughts on this idea. :)
I got a lol from the electric bath clip because last summer we did a tour of an old victorian house while on vacation in upstate NY and it had an electric bath. The tour guide said the only thing they effectively did was electrocute the people using them just like the clip showed.
I knew exactly what you were gonna say, but I watched anyway because you're entertaining, and watching someone else play this game instead of myself was a nice change :P
You're in my mind! :D Granted a lot of my commentary is responding to what i can see but i did try to chuck some backstory and trivia in like Titanic only having 1 Electric bath or talking about Mr Gatti :P Thanks for watching matey, I hope you stick around!
Thanks Jane :) I'm sorry I dont have more frequent Titanic content on the group, i understand a lot of my subscribers came from Titanic and stay for Titanic. It's really a shame there's just not enough content out there to do it more often. There will be 1 more Titanic week this year so you have that to look forward to, but going forward after that i'll need to mix things up alittle. None the less Titanic will always be apart of this channel and where possible i'll be featuring her :) Thanks for being here and thanks for supporting me
+Spammals It's more than titanic even though I love it lol I'm just happy to see someone who takes the time to know what they are talking about :] You have a fantastic personality and that's what's getting you subs and not just this beautiful ship!
Okay, I'm so gonna buy this game when it comes out, as I said, your love for this boat is contagious. I hope we will be able to interact with the ship. Sit down, order stuff, etc... As I read on the website, we will be able to explore Southampton as well. EDIT: Wait... No. I forgot, my computer have a potato as a graphic card. It barely can run Portal in minimum config so this game will never run.
I was looking through all the Honor and Glory 2 demo video's here on RU-vid and you blew everyone else away with over 6,00 views! Others all have under 1,000.... Good job sir!
jesseboombatts Its scary how some videos explode :D Outlast getting under 100, Titanic 30k >< I like to think it shows as proof that i'm not about the views here on Spammals. I could easily just be a Titanic channel, sure it'll be hard to make 365 videos a year but they would work out. But frankly im just excited so many people watched and enjoyed it, but i feel the same enjoyment seeing just 100 people enjoy a video. Sure i always hope to see more views but i'll never let the expected views drive my game choices :P
My hype is unreal (no pun), been waiting for this since I was 5, playing with the hull of my titanic model that I was too young to put together, watching titanic constlantly, filling notebooks up with titanic drawings. When Honor and Glory comes out it will also be my first vr experience as well. Matt, Tom, and the team are saints haha, I just wish Cameron would see this and donate some of that Titanic moolah.
Ah! I did go up to B deck but didnt include it in the video. I didnt notice the lift car! I'll check that out next time i play :D Thanks for the heads up!
wow spammals I'm just watching this now .This is amazing .I helped out with the game Fall of the titanic. I was the music producer. even tho i m a worker of the game I hate a lot of things about it.
It looks truely amazing! I can't wait until this game comes out. Before I watched your video I had to download it and play it myself. I found another easter egg and I immediately thought of you and I had to tell you this, since you didn't cover it here. There is a cufflink on a chair on D deck. Such a small thing but made me smile.
He covered it in the fist demo review -- it's paying respect to "adventure out of time" where the cufflink was one of the objectives in the game in order to get the purser away from his post.
Hey Mike! Yea i saw the cufflink too but since i did a gag on that in Demo 1, I didnt want to repeat it again so skimed over it :P I even went looking for other items like the pack of cigarettes in the cafe :P (It's not there) I'm gonna play the demo a lot more, I might even do a 2nd video on it If I can put together a solid feature. :)
Nowadays people think every boat or ship is the titanic i mean i could show someone a modern day cruise ship and they would be like "OH ITS THE TITANIC" even a speedboat they would say the same
I just found your videos. I never really comment on yt, but I just had to say that your enthusiasm is utterly infectious. I'm really impressed with your knowledge about the titanic. It's fun to geek out about history, but Hope and Glory is like a whole new level of awesomeness. I hope its success will bring forth other historical periods in game form that's chalked full of detailed accuracy. Do you have a video explaining how you got interested in learning about the titanic?
Hey there! Welcome to the channel! I do hope you enjoy my other videos too :D Thank you for all the kind words, It's too fun to talk Titanic and play with the game. It's so well made its just like a walk in the park lol I havent got any back story videos on the channel but it's a nice idea for the future so cheers! :D
Thomas Andrews' is my unsung hero. My full name is Andrew Steven Thomas Kroll. Thomas being the patron saint of architects, I am going to college for architectural technology. Titanic is my passion and I long to see her recreated in H&G!
It was very interesting because Steinway Is to pianos as Stradivaris are to violins. They are the highest quality and one of the most expensive brands of pianos.
I hope that the water physics will be good. I know that even in triple A games water looks and reacts like shit (most of the time) . But for Titanic, water is well... pretty important to get right.
The thing i'm looking to see with water is real flow dynamics. Many games lower the set or raise the water through walls. I want to see the water collide, spill and flow around walls! :) The only game i've seen pull it off is called Aquaphobia.
Spammals That's exactly what I meant with that! :D Let's hope they will implement that, because they had a sinking demo (the inside view one) from like a year ago and in that they had that ''lower the set or raise the water through walls''. Besides that, this game looks amazing and my body is ready for this game! :D
Spammals, amazing review. Your knowledge and excitement are contagious. You should definitely run for the trailer contest that the team is proposing. You'll get a Ken Marschall autographed poster. I really think you can win. Cheers
Thanks for commenting Zeno! It's easy to get excited in this game :P The contest sounds really fun but I'm not sure I can enter as i'm in a small way involved with the team. Might be a conflict of interest. Thanks again!
Thanks General! When it comes to Titanic i try to show some respect for the ship and to present the videos in a more serious way. It's great to talk about her and to play tour guide, I only hope it's fun to watch! :)
Yea this was pretty new to me too, it comes with being able to see outside the photographs :D Sure we could have looked at a deck plan but unless you're looking for it, it's easy to over look :D
