Ok so it's worth pointing out that there have been a dozen or more movies about the Titanic and that's just between when the tragedy happened and 1997 when James Cameron's film was in theaters. In fact, there were two movies about the Titanic in 1997. Hell, even the Germans made a movie about the Titanic during WWII. The legend really does go on.

Ah yes, i remember "The LEGEND of the TITANIC", which Rivals this one in terms of psychological damage, and also somehow managed to garner a sequel later on (i won't spoil much, but it somehow involves the lost city of ATLANTIS). one of the few things imprinted into the back of my mind folds like stamped in PTSD is when the anthro mice start dancing on the deck of the ship singing "🎵THERE ARE NO CATS IN AMERICA, AND THE STREET'S ARE PAVED WITH CHEESE🎶🐁🐀" The Nostalgia Critic managed to review both if your ever interested. Italian animation is just in a different skill & I.Q. field, its amazing honestly.

As an Italian: the S.C.A.r.l. at 4:42 is not a typo (though the capitalization is all over the place, should have been just SCARL or S.C.a.R.L.), but just a very particular company designation, like for instance INC, PLC or LTD. The SCARL company designation specifically stands for "limited liability consortium". Also yeah, the movie's localized, the original's in Italian obviously!

37:10 Though Jon's gag was funny, theory is that it is actually what sank the Titanic...the company that made it basically didn't make sure the lookouts had binoculars (It was either a clerical error or a manufacturing/shipping snafu IIRC that led to there not being binoculars available)...so they didn't see the iceberg until it was too late...

The thing I hate most about Titanic fiction stories is that there are so many possibilities for an interesting narrative in spite of knowing the general outcome, but they almost never turn out well. My example: There's a book called Dracula 1912 (it has 4 reviews on Goodreads, you're not missing out) in which a resurrected but weakened Dracula gets passage aboard the Titanic in order to have New York as a new hunting ground. But, also onboard are Abraham Van Helsing, Arthur Holmwood, and Dr. Seward, who have somehow caught wind of his plans and are attempting to stop him. It's not even well edited, much less written. And that's tragic, because the premise sounds amazing.

In the Doraemon Special manga vol 7, the gang went searching for a rumored ghost ship that randomly popped up & found a weird ship where everything looks very outdated & a girl screaming about red eyes follow her & everyone around(but only she notice them). It turned out the Titanic is trapped in a time loop on its last 2 days so that a space demon can feed on the fear of the people on board.

Funfact : there exist 2 english dubs of this film , the one everyone memes about with the rapping dog and terrible dialog splicing and a second version more similar to the original italian version of the film ...the rapping dog has a ton of cut lines and scenes which establish him as an authority figure for the animals...the party still happens but there an actual segway to it unlike the dub were currently seeing.....if i had a nickle for every time a foren animated film got 2 separate dubs with 1 becoming a meme overshadowing the proper dub ...id have a dollar

37:00 That's actually REALLY funny...because from what we have gathered about the disaster, it was most likely the fact that the lookouts didn't have binoculars that the ship sank...because they had logistical trouble and didn't get the shipment of binoculars that they had ordered, but the ship decided to launch anyway to avoid delaying passengers and for PR reasons...and because they couldn't see into the distance, they didn't see the iceberg until it was too late... EDIT: Ha, I made a similar comment nearly 4 months ago...I just keep coming back to your videos Kip, your reactions are great, even as a vtuber avatar, you have a very expressive voice...

This... this is just an authentic flashbang experience - constant vision blur, headache and the high note in my ears! A lot (well, several) people worked on this for some time (even with all of the stolen animation in mind)... Actually Kip the joke Jon made 37:16 actually did happen and is the main reason the Titanic Sunk , because what originally happened was watch towers and boats were told to be the lookouts for the Titanic and were told to inform them about the Iceberg filled waters they were about to go in and the Titanic watch Tower members were so incredibly drunk the swore at both the search and rescue boats and the WatchTower telling them to F off only for most of them to either refuse to answer the distress calls or tell them to F off back both parties where charged as I recall in a documentary and no thanks to them as well as the people who made the ship that most of the people on board were killed, because of their irresponsible actions.

You're thinking of a single event. Titanic was communicating with Cape Race with its volume turned up due to the distance. The Californian sent a message to Titanic that nearly deafened Phillips, the man working Titanic's wireless at the time. Phillips replied with "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! I AM WORKING CAPE RACE!" The Californian was broadcasting ice warnings which, at that point in history, were not given priority over passenger messages.

Children songs like ring around the roses (which is about the black death, the plague) are children songs so that they are easy to remember. Since literacy wasn't really a thing for the majority, they had to create an oral way to keep history around. A LOT of cute little children songs... have a scary history, but since they're still around, it proves that a cute little catchy song can stick around for thousands of years as a warning about a horrific disease.

More likely than you think-there were reportedly 9 dogs on the Titanic, 3 of whom survived because they were lapdogs (and didn't take much room), the rest having perished during the sinking. Reportedly, a FIrst-Class female passenger refused to board a lifeboat because they refused her dog entry, so she decided to stay on the ship to comfort her dog. When they went to look for survivors after the stern sank, she was found embracing her dog on the ocean's surface, having likely succumbed to the elements.

Even more fascinating: There's a pretty decent chance that the individual who let the caged dogs out during the evacuation was Col JJ Astor (of the Astoria Hotel chain, where the subsequent accident investigation would be held just a week later), the ship's wealthiest passenger and an avid dog trainer himself. Supposedly, right after Cmdr CH Lightoller refused to let him out the promenade windows onto Boat #4 with his young wife, Col Astor decided to go up to the kennels and freed the dogs instead of asking Cmdr WM Murdoch to let him on a different boat.

Fun fact: There are two versions of the english dub: An uncut version and the edited version most people are familiar with. the rap was completely different originally. This is also why the dog's voice randomly changes after that scene.

I'm pretty sure this movie was originally in English, not a dub. The lipsync is really bad, but generally syncs up with the English dialogue. A lot of European movies are made in English in order to get a bigger audience.

The thing about some English language Italian productions, they won’t try and make their dialogue sound more natural in English, they have it be a direct translations. Depending on the quality of the dubbing studio, they may or not employ whoever they can find who speaks *some* English.

2 things- 1. There's actually *another* animated Titanic Movie which came out first, which was produced partially by North Korea, and has a sequel and a freaking animated show with it. 2. This is the better of the two animated Titanic movies, even if this version is worse than the original cut.

Its awkward that all the characters look like cartoon characters, then the main character like she came from the Heavy Metal series. Im just saying the drawing room mustve got a bit musky.
