"TITINE" Shimmy in Warszawa, 1924/25 (Eug. Bodo !)

Arrived from Paris immediately in 1924 and soon after was recorded and performed publicly in Warsaw. Great international hit "Titine" ! In the video: 1925 acoustic recording made for "Płyta Polska" label. The melody is played by the orchestra of the studio whereas the attached sheet music, of the same date, presents Eugeniusz Bodo as the performer of the song, possibly the first one in Poland. -

An exceptional rare record and a real pearl in the crown of Polish culture! Its a good thing to protect this rarety against copying by not playing tho whole record, Jurku ! As always thank you for sharing !

+parlophonman - Kept in the family for so many years - a dozen of them; in such a good condition ! From the period when it all only started to exist. I heard Titine for the first time sung and hummed by ----- Lili !

Titine! During this same year, perhaps about the same time of this recording here, the tune was popular enough to be featured in an early (experimental) sound film of Ben Bernie's Orchestra in the United States - somewhere on my channel that footage can be seen (and heard!). Fantastic record, thank you for sharing it!

+Alex .Allen - Yes... it is fantastic - how they do play ! The leader on the violin - including Titina and my favorite SGB (....Georgia....) - and only one mic was able to capture everything ! As we can see, the music was never stopped by any boundries, which my record can also confirm.

A very enjoyable record which displays just how skilled recording engineers were towards the end of the acoustic era, but why the fade out before the end?

+Parlophonic - thank you for this question: since I've known how such materials can be "utilized", these of special value I decided to present in not more than 99%. This is an open field and you can be approached by fair and unfair, by honest and dishonest. And this set of records of 1924-25 is a special donation from the gentleman whose grandfather was buying them - remained in a very good state.

+Parlophonic You don't play the whole record otherwise you will discover your own record has been stolen by other people who sometimes use it for commercial reasons ! I am sure you will understand this explanation Mr. Parlophonic and it is really sad for visitors like you that the record cannot be played and enjoyed until the end.

Yes, I can understand that unscrupulous miscreants (!) may well have no compunction in stealing other people's posts, so this safeguard I now understand is a necessity.
