I watch a lot of chess content on RU-vid but you are my favourite by a mile, just so funny and your depth of knowledge is just incredible. It is a pleasure and an honour to watch you.
The legendary Ginger GM summed up in one video... Crazy sacrifices, genius tactics, hilarious anecdotes, philosophical quotes and occasional relatable blunders. But above all just a top bloke. You should hire someone to clip up your videos and run accounts on TikTok and Instagram, I think they'd blow up.
@Drang_Gei What's worse, having an opinion or saying nothing at all? I would argue the latter. Current events in the UK are remarkable. No single individual should be silenced into not remarking. Whether you agree with the remarks or not.
I dont normally reply here, but what you just said is a load of bollocks. When I say stuff it is an opinion, why would you think otherwise!? For a start I was there first hand witnessing the depressing shit around me. Seeing sad fat hooligans and desperate youths looking for something to do is hardly a revolution. Secondly you are mistaking stuttering for thinking before speaking. Something people need to do more. Finally I don't watch the news. What's you opinion anyway? Sit and judge behind the screen without doing anything or moving your fat arse out of the chair? @Drang_Gei
Absolute gold dust watching you Simon. 😂 Please just never change… I wanted you to take Gotham but if a GM can get forked like that and quit in disgust - maybe the rest of us aren’t so bad either. You’re just one of us at heart Simon - one of the damned and the fallen 🤣. Just another honest-to-God labourer trying to stick it to The Man every now and again. 🤙
All brilliant stuff! Your comments on the riots in Hull ( at 24:08 ) were spot on. Particularly about an element of local yobs just being out for mayhem. I was playing at the other venue and you could smell smoke in the playing hall on the Saturday. We were advised where a fire was by the arbiter after we finished.
sorry Simon, really sorry, but the last minute really made me laugh a lot :) Nxb7 was actually quite interesting... I said it before, and will say it again: try to play as if it is bullet. it will speed up the thinking. Even for old guys like us (same building year...)
Some savory and spicy highs in the first half before you came crashing back to earth in Harry the Hang-Gliding man-kite. Condolences on how your game with GothamChess ended there, I was rooting for you to "mate, mate, mate the fucker!" but admittedly was laughing my ass off after ...Nc3ch and the RAGE STREAM END moment. You were right--you predicted how he'd beat you!
Not sure why the cops didn't employ famous chess-boxers Williams and Trent to repel those rioters. Maybe with Arkell and Hebden as back-up. 🤣 I was staying at one of Hull's out-of-town hotels and got completely stranded when the taxi companies refused to come into the city centre. But yes, I echo your observation about the large numbers of local kids joining in. Unlike the EDL thugs, they mostly had the sense to cover their faces. Very disturbing though, to see their eagerness and excitement while throwing bricks at the Police. Clearly no respect for authority, other people's property, or their own community. Parents and teachers are not stepping up to the mark in Hull.
Sorry to hear you came down with covid during the tournament. I was following your games (after the fact, I'm in New Zealand so the time zones don't align) at the time. I was excited when I saw the set up unfold in the last game, as it was reaching a similar position as one of my best ever games from the late 90s (you would have been proud as I sacked my way to victory! ha ha). Anyway, Hoping you'll be doing some recaps to go along with the Titled Tuesdays and that you're over the covid.
Simon, when you're looking at the game review and you want to see the in-depth analysis for a position, just click the magnifying glass icon at the very top-right. It bugs the buggery out of me when you try to switch between the views and try to find the last move. Stop it.
Some great games Simon keep it up. Oh you know I think that Rapport dutch would not be a bad idea for a chessable or ginger gm course. There was a quality chess book on the dutch not too long ago that had it in it, it is not so bad.
You geniuses literally have one feeble tactic, don't you: try desperately to find some kind of hypocrisy so you can witter on about "two tier" blah blah blah. I must have missed the part where he was playing at a tournament in Harehills or Bangladesh mid-riots.
@@SteveNoverini Don't delude yourself that being suckered by some fake news online about a criminal's ethnicity and immigration status and then attacking a load of irrelevant mosques and hotels is "fighting for your country" or whatever self-congratulatory claptrap I keep seeing online. Immigration is an economic and social necessity in a country with an ageing population and a skills shortfall like the UK. You might believe (with some validity) that immigration numbers are too high - that's a political issue. We just had a democratic election, and the party standing on a platform of "net zero immigration" got 14% of the vote share. Throwing bricks at policemen is just a temper tantrum that your views aren't as important to the British public as you think they are. The irony is that the face of "taking back our country" is now a load of sniffed up thugs smashing up Greggs. You couldn't have done a finer job in toxifying your political cause.
11 children stabbed and he says people are only there because they're bored while making comments about their low social class, no comments about the peaceful Muslim riots in Birmingham, pub smashed 2 people stabbed and one beaten... I watch Simon for his chess not to listen to him talk about politics just stick to the chess please
Are referring to the kind of ‘multi-culteranismo that has Muslims trying to install Sharia Law in the UK? Or perhaps the kind that grooms little girls? Or the kind that simply wants to get rid of all whites? Which one?
Top bloke Simon, also glad to hear speak up against the mindless idiots in the UK. We should be railing against the injustices caused by the rich and powerful not against the colour of people's skin.
I think you place too much of an emphasis on the opening. Most the time when you go wrong it is due to being overly ambitious and/or during the middle or end game. 🤔
@@aaronsontube2647 Yes, esepecially since the statement can be boiled down to " you go wrong in all phases of the game" :D The more i think about it, the more it seems like a troll :D
